Best Phone Conversation EVER!!!

I am not sure I can even give this story justice, but I'll try anyway.I found an add in the Bryan Eagle for Yorki-Poo puppies. (I've been on the search for a dog/puppy). So, I called the phone number to ask about them/if I could go out and look at them.My conversation lasted over 20 minutes: We discussed the puppies: "The cutest puppies you'll ever see. You won't be able to leave here without one." We discussed Obama: "I'm not sure what Obama has planned, but I think he's a smart man who will get something changed. I didn't vote for him, I just hope for the best."We discussed the economy: "This economy is the worst economy I've ever seen. And I'm 72 years old. That's a lot of years to compare to."We discussed retirement: "I don't know why old people want to retire. What are they gonna do? Nothing? Or they go over to Louisiana and gamble and lose it all. Not very smart."We discussed his work: "I raise all kinds of an...

Halloween Weekend!

Friday:Had a GREAT time at the Benchley Halloween Scavenger Hunt!We went as the game Tetris, complete with music and all. TETRIS!!!There were a ton of other amazing costumes. Definitely a lot of originals. Scavenger Hunt was a lot of fun, there were about 20 people on the 'walking' team!! I had to quit about half way through as my back was starting to hurt again, blah.Saturday:Woke up early for breakfast at the Hardings...where all the cool people camped out. I consider myself 'smart' for having slept in my bed. I love camp out breakfasts, they're SWEET! :-)Went back home, took a nap, then drove to Serbin (outside Giddings) to see my brother, sister-in-law, and my nephew!!! I also shot a 30-6 rifle, a 22 revolver, and a 22 semi-automatic, all for the FIRST time ever. I even hit the TARGET with them all!!! Ate some good BBQ and beans, held my nephew and vistied with my bro and family! Aunt Kristie & Benjamin!! (11/01/08)Can you believe it's November? ...

Do you have any new pens?

This is hilarious:I'm working in my office, when the student worker receptionist comes and asks if I can help the man at the front because "he is asking for new pens and I already told him we had none". (I'm thinking: Umm, OK...this man is probably not all there) So, I go to the front and ask if I can help him:"How can I help you?""Do you have any Drug Rep Pens? I collect new pens.""We are an accounting firm, we don't get pens from Drug Reps.""Can I get an accounting pen from you?""We don't buy pens with our names on them. Although, that might not be a bad idea.""Can you give me a new pen that you were going to use?""Well, I would like to, but I actually haven't picked out a new pen in weeks.""That's too bad.""It sure is. Is there anything else I can help you with?""What about that blue pen in the cup.""Well, lets see. It's a Sharpie."&...

Highlighters...

Who knew they could be so cool?I just got a pack of 8 (yes, 8) Sharpie Highlighters. That you have to click like a pen to use. How absolutely amazing!! I'm so intrigued. I've yet to even use them all. There's even a Red one, yes, RED!! Oh, the things I can do with 8 different colored highlighters at work. Hooray!Yes, this was a blog about Highlighters brought to you by Yost. It's the little things.Smile!

There's a singing at the Bellaire Congregation in Houston this Friday night at 7:00pm.I know that is when our Bible Study is scheduled, but I know the members of Bellaire would be very much encouraged if some of us went. If you'd like to go with me just let me know!!The song leaders will be RJ Stevens, Tim Stevens, Adam LaRue, Michael Stringer, Glen Tomblin. Bellaire is the congregation I attended while living in Houston. Can't wait to see everyone again!!

Chiropractor....

I went today because 1.) the pain has become intolerable and 2.)I think my roommates and Donald were tired of me complaining (although I think they secretly enjoyed the Yost-Ibuprofen mix)So my experience. First we'll being with how I feel right now: TERRIBLE, LOTS OF PAIN, ready to remove my back. Back to the chiropractor's office visit. It was nice, I watched a video regarding the "Chiropractic Experience" (it was a VHS tape). Saw my Dr., Very nice man. Then had to go through some sort of electric shock therapy business. Let me explain what it felt like/what I was imagining:They put these harmless looking electrode things on my back in various places and tell me I'll experience a slight tingling which will heighten as they increase the volume. Ok, sounds good. And it did feel nice. I laughed when it would start (as it would stop and start randomly) because it tickled. Then the "tingling" would begin again. It felt like little HEAVY ants running ...
