So yes, this is quite overdue, I believe. It seems as though there is no drive or impetus in my writing skills over the last few weeks: only enough to shoot out a quip facebook status here and there. But finally, a little extra time opens itself up in the schedule, seeing as Jeff is unable to get on Halo right now.
But enough of that. Let’s get down to business…..to defeat the huns…
1. Number one is probably the most important occurrence as of late. I am now officially accepted into Texas Tech for the Fall 2010 semester. Pumped is not a word strong enough to describe anything about that feeling right now. ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ Woot. Life is good.
2. Choir. Yeah, it’s fun this semester(except for a few annoying members). Right now we are working on a beautiful Russian piece, that should sound amazing once we get it all together. Russian is difficult to sing.
3. Another song we’re going to be doing that some of you might know is “Sleep” by Eric Whitacre. Probably has to be my favorite choral piece ever composed. It causes goosebumps.
4. Tutoring has been as especially profitable business lately. That might have to be remembered at some later point. Hmm.
5. The Rock wall in the gym at Tech will be used a lot. Pretty sure about that. Especially if it’s free. =]
7. Writing this in Microsoft word can be very frustrating, as it seems to believe that 6 should go here, instead of 7. It’s wrong.
8. That poor guitar. It has been so lonely lately. That should probably be fixed…soon.
9. I feared yesterday that I might have broken the zune. But it is better now, after a good night’s rest and a reset. It will be invaluable at Tech, seeing as there is Wifi all across campus that it can tap into.
10. Wow, so much has happened since last post. It’s been since past Christmas, even. Wow. It has been really good stuff, though.
10.5. Next post might be a New Year’s resolution and reflection post. Not entirely decided yet, though. Those are hard to write.
6. Music recommendations. This is going to be hard. Sure, why not. Owl City. Can’t get more catchy than that. This is not a bandwagon thing, though. Knew about them before they were on the radio. I usually don’t like bandwagon music. But “Salwater Room” is a great song.
Someday you will know.
Owl City – Saltwater room
“With your ear to a seashell,
You can hear the waves
in underwater caves
as if you actually were inside
a saltwater room.”

Ah, so life goes on. Sounds similar to a quote by Robert Frost, but it is missing a few words. But in those few omitted words, it becomes a totally separate identity. Instead of summing up life in three words, it simply makes a statement. Oh well. And no, there really is no point to this part of the post.
Wow, my room smells like cologne right now. But it was all for a good cause, so ‘tis all excellent.
1. Ah, where to begin. As the scent of cologne overpowers a brain, let us see what that mind spews forth in its throes of delusion. So much could be put in this post, but how much will actually make it? That’s a question, but please don't answer it. It's rhetorical. :)
2. Brakes on a truck are a surprisingly important ingredient to proper functionality. But AC, even though it is fixed, is not being used much. The weather is way too nice for air conditioning.
3. I finally had inspiration for another photo. It is really bad when you have a two month dry spell. But I now actually have a little free time now and then, between all my studies, video game, and working out, so I decided, “Hey, that might be cool!” The product is demonstrated below.
4. Going to see Mary Poppins tomorrow!! This will really be my first musical I have ever been to. Really looking forward to it! Mr. Moody, my choir director, went to see it yesterday, and he said it was fantastic, so it is sure to be good. :)
5. My English teacher would really kill me, because I have the slight habit of writing in fragments on Pleonast. Which reminds me how much I really hate the chorus in Greek Tragedies. They’re so pointless, and they interrupt way too much.
7. I might actually have passed this past physics test. We’ll see. This class….hmm.
8. ‘A Christmas Carol’ has top rung on a list of movies to see. Speaking of movies, I somehow had it fixed in my mind that ‘2012’ really wasn’t coming out until 2012. That was silly.
9. Halo is begging to be played right now. This post should be wrapped up.
10. Haha, so that didn’t really go the way it was planned. Well, neither did the occurrences of a few days after. But it was all necessary. God knows best.
6. Oh, so many songs have been listened to since last post. Which to choose……..Ah, yes, that would be a good one. ‘Flight’ by Sutton Foster. Amazing harmonies. It gives me chills.
For every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction. Yes, that is connected to saying things. Just in a different way. :)
Sutton Foster – Flight
“I don't care if the train runs late,
If the checks won't clear,
If the house blows down.
I'll be off where the weeds run wild
Where the seeds fall far from this
earthbound town.”

You would think….that when you really think about it; it shouldn’t take all that long to write a post. But it sadly takes longer than you would think….Oh well. I now have a little extra time. Woot. It has been over a month. I am ashamed of myself, so I will fix this problem. And by the way, Kudos points are redeemable for hugs.
In weather like this, it is actually nice not having any AC in the truck I drive.
1. So four of the guys in choir, myself included, are working on a barbershop song in hopes that the choir director will let us do it at the concert. He said he would consider it if we got it sounding good. Yes. Life is good.
2. It is amusing how many good movies are in the $5 bin at Walmart. It amazes me how fast they can get in there, though.
3. Good food is always appreciated. I like it a lot.
4. Since last post. 18 years old. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!! Driver’s license. I love driving. And a Zune HD. I love my Zune HD. It is epic. Portable internet makes me smile.
5. Having no time is really cutting into my time for guitar practice. Although I was finally able to play some today.
7. I might even be able to consider visiting some people now that I have my license. :) Life is even better. Like, a lot.
8. My voice seems to be getting even lower now that I am actually singing the part I should be singing, bass. It is very amusing, really.
9. Ok, so if you haven’t seen it yet, a request is put in that you go see ‘Where the Wild Things Are.’ It is slightly beyond legitimate.
10. Physics….hmm. Enough said.
6. I think that the music recommendation for this day/week/month would have to be……’Chances’ by Five for Fighting. The new album came out last Tuesday, and it is really good. It surpasses anything he has done in the past, in my opinion.
11. You can tell this section is special, because there has never been an 11 before. Life has been really good since last post. Beyond good, actually.
And sometimes, going ahead and saying things really pays off. At least, I know it did for me. :)
Five for Fighting – Chances
Chances are when said and done,
Who'll be the lucky ones who make it all the way?
Though you say I could be your answer,
Nothing lasts forever no matter how it feels today.

And I really haven’t found much free time, so I have not been able to post. Sad day. But tonight. Tonight is different. I am now able to find a few minutes of free time in my insanely hectic schedule, which can be pronounced either skedjyule or shedjyule. And free time is very valuable, so I decided to spend it profitably by writing a new post..
Putting new contacts in is one of the best feelings in the world.
1. Ok, so the Zune HD is beyond amazing. No, I don’t have one yet, but I am planning to obtain one. Touchscreen and internet on a zune make an amazing combination.
2. Since last post, I have performed in two concerts. 1 = Mamma Mia medley. Awesome. 2 = National Anthem at a September 11th memorial. Amazing.
3. I have found a deep love for performing. Yeah.
4. Dr. Kevin Moody(choir director) has some of the best quotes ever. Case in point: "Don't make a boring, bland, Dreyer's ice cream sound; make the warm, rich, Bluebell sound. Aim for the Bluebell."
5. Pop tarts make good food basically any time of the day.
7. Game night on Friday. Let the good times roll.
8. Augh. So I still need to actually bring a camera up to school so I can stop just editing old photos. I need new stuff.
9. I should probably clean my room, too….that sort of gets pushed to the backburner when you have a Physics test. So I think I shall clean now since I am done with the test.
10. It is interesting discovering that you have been singing the wrong part for quite a few years….most of you who have listened to me hear me sing Tenor, but in fact, in choir, I am a Bass…and actually, the deepest bass in choir. It looks awkward, though, because the other bass is around a foot taller and 200 or so pounds more than me.
6. So I think that the music recommendation for this time would definitely have to be…’Pieces’ by Red. Most rock songs cannot pull off orchestra instruments in an intro. They can.
Life is better when you go ahead and say things. Yup.
Red – Pieces
“I'm here again a thousand miles away from you
A broken mess, just scattered pieces of who I am.
I tried so hard, thought I could do this on my own.
I've lost so much along the way.”

I’m not totally sure what I was talking about last post when I mentioned free time. That is something that has absolutely disappeared, starting at the beginning of this week….wow. So I’m taking 11 hours at the college, my classes being Interpersonal Communication, Chamber Singers, University Physics, and English II. Almost too busy to work out, but not quite. I don’t think I’ll let that happen.
The world seriously will never know. You can count on that. Really.
1. So I talked with the choir director, and decided to drop choir(because there could be no way to avoid singing religious songs with instrumental accompaniment), but he suggested I take Chamber singers, the smaller choir(around 10 people) that you have to audition for. I auditioned..and got in! So now there is a chance I might do a solo or duet at our concert later this fall. I’m pumped.
2. I get to wear a tuxedo to the concert…with a bow-tie, and maybe a cummerbund. Yeah, I can fly.
3. And I get to practice four days a week now. I can see myself losing my voice a lot. Woot.
4. Very legitimate quote from Calvin and Hobbes: “That's one of the remarkable things about life. It's never so bad that it can't get worse." I really can't figure out whether that is optimistic or pessimistic, though..Hmm.
5. Physics teacher………..not cool…..English teacher….not too cool, either…. Interpersonal communication teacher…..Choir teacher….beyond epic.
7. I probably should have gone to some of the welcome week activities at the college….usually free stuff to be had. And free stuff is always good. Alas.
8. I now have access to the computers in the music lab, which allows me to use Finale. Hmm.
9. I also have access to lots of cool instruments in the band hall. Lots of pictures should follow. I’ve needed more musical objects to take pictures of, and the opportunity has presented itself. :)
10. So there is a person in my communication class….that believes in ghosts, and regularly goes on “ghost hunts.” That class will be interesting.
6. Music recommendation for the week would definitely have to be….’Droplets,’ a duet with Colbie Caillat and Jason Reeves. By the way, her new cd is really awesome.
Sometimes what needs to be said is hard and definitely takes some courage. But it still needs to be said nonetheless.
Colbie Caillat - Droplets
“My head is in a cloud of rain
And the world it seems so far away;
And I'm just waiting for
The droplets, droplets.”
