~Co-op~ Well, Co-op is done with for the semester. What does that mean for me? No more Latin! However, I do have to finish translating my Aesop's Fable into Latin.
~Orchestra~ Orchestra is still going strong however. Currently we're working on these songs...
-> Raiders March
We're not doing that whole song, but we're doing a good portion of it.
-> God Bless America
I trust that you all know this song. The 2nd Orchestra is going to play this with our 3rd group, so we are going to have a LOT of instruments.
-> String Festival in C (Written by Timothy Dow himself)
This song has two movements so it's more like playing two songs. These songs are tough. I think Timothy just wanted to make it hard on us violas so he decided to have us do 16th note scales, string jumps, and a bunch of sticato... but that just me...
-> A Festive Christmas Medley
Our orchestra was recently invited to play with the Community band here in Lufkin. The Concert will be December 7th, and we got to practice the music for the first time last monday, so we're not sure if we will be able to pull it off, but we're gunna give it a try. It would be awesome if we do it! And if it does happen, I expect to see a good number of you in the audience :p
~Teen Court~ We had our last teen court session Monday. It was pretty cool. I was prosecuting a girl who stole $55 and something cents from Sears. Needless to say we(Joe Cool, Kaleb Fortenberry, and My self) nailed this girl. The final Punishment was:
32 Hours Community Service (Min=24 Max=36)
4 Jury Terms (Min=1 Max=4)
A two page written apology to the Store manager.
A research paper on the affects of Shoplifting(1000 words!)
~Silsbee Singing School(11/22/08)~ I WILL be at the singing school in Silsbee this Saturday. If you've never been, I encourage you to go! It's a really awesome one day singing school where you can learn to lead singing or tweak your song leading abilities. They also have a ladies class(which my mom will be teaching). So, yeah... it's great end to a week!
-------------------------
I think that's all for now guys...
Expect another Texas Tech post coming soon. They play OU this Saturday!!!
I hope we can get that Christmas medley thing down...I was doing pretty good when I practiced alone, but with other people is a whole different animal...
Yes, this is my second Red Raider post in a row, but what can I say? They just keep on rolling! Since they just beat the Oklahoma St. Cowboys(ttu-56 osu-20) they are 10-0 on the year with two games left to play!
Now we've got to wait two weeks before seeing if they can beat up on the Sooners like they did the Cowboys. But I got faith in 'em.
YAYYY! Go Red Raiders!! :D Hey I wanted to invite you to a party this friday, the whole church gang should be there.. it is at abby's house friday at 6:30, let me know if you can make it and ill give you more details.
That was really cool. I'd watch more football if it was all televised one pay right after another. I always forget what happened by the time they get all lined up ready to at it again.
I'm glad you enjoyed the asylum. We've actually got the next few years of themes lined up. We might be taking a break from the haunted house next year and doing something completely different that I cannot give any more information at this time. But it's in the talks.
Song Leading... I've been leading singing on Sunday nights this month, because our usual song leader decided to go to Flordia. I'm really enjoying the opportunity though. I'm very quickly realizing that everything that can go wrong will... :p
Teen Court... Teen Court will be back in full swing starting tomorrow. I'm the defense attorney for a kid who stole pens and oraly hygienic items from K-Mart... I hate defense...
PSAT... ...
Moving on
...
GUNS UP!!! My Texas Tech Red Raiders our #8(I believe) in nation and are undefeated on the year.
lol. brilliant, andrew. but there are still many things that could go wrong. you could start hiccuping in the middle of the song, or faint during a song. lol. (knock on wood)
