days, that is. Oh mylanta....cannot believe it has snuck up on us like this!!! I cannot wait to have all this planning behind me and be a married woman! And most importantly, being married to the SWEETEST man! So you get my drift--I kinda love this guy a little bit. So much look forward to seeing all of you who will be blessing us with your presence on our special day. Keep looking up!
Congratulations Abby!! We're so happy for you. I just realized that you are getting married on my anniversary!! John and I will be married 10 years!!!!!!! How crazy is that??!! :-) Hope everything goes wonderfully!
I just recently found out who you are marrying!! I haven't seen them in years but knew them from an area church and went to camp with them! So exciting!!! I can't wait to see pics!!
Looking forward to seeing you. Beign married to the one you love is a special blessing. It will be 2 years in January for Kristy and I and it has been the best two years of my life.
Excited to get married and excited that all this planning is almost over!!! I don't mind much/most of it, but it can be a little too much at times for me.
so why is it that I enjoy dressing my man much more than dressing myself? I may know some of an answer to that question, but whatever the reason, I do and it is soooo much fun! We went to Men's Wearhouse today to look at suits/tuxes for the wedding and I had such a great time :) It was so fun to try different things on Stephen and dress up my tall, good-lookin' fella! I found out a lot about suits, sizes, tailoring, combinations, etc. Plus, we found a dress shirt for Stephen that fits him the best I've ever seen. That was very exciting b/c we have to special order his shirts due to his height and length of his arms. He's gone for yrs wearing the wrong size in a lot of different clothes...mainly shirts...and been pretty uncomfortable. Needless to say, I got many helpful hints! And, oh, we found tuxes for all the guys-yay!!! Stephen really wanted to find suits to buy all the guys, but there wasn't much of a choice in the chocolate brown color we want. I think the reason I'm so excited about all this is b/c I have always looked forward to dressing up a guy and finding awesome combinations, esp. w/ suits. Now I am getting to do it and it is soooo fun! And thanks to my wonderful fiance for letting me do this and being so cool about it.
On a deeper note...have any of you noticed how beautiful the sky is lately? I know it sounds somewhat silly, but if you are ever having a hard day, or a great one, look up at the amazing view that our Father gives to us daily. We had an awesome sunset here in KY earlier tonight. We've been given so much and should be so grateful!
I'm going to bed now :-) Make it an great Lord's day tomorrow.
Hey girl!!! How are you?!! From reading your blogs it sounds like your doing well! Congrats, btw! We're doing great! We're building a house right now which is keeping us very busy but it's a huge blessing. My oldest is in 1st grade this year and that keeps my schedule pretty tight. I still have the younger two at home which I love. Hope to talk to you soon!
I am so thankful for having you in my life. I feed on your smile and your positive attitude. Thank you for loving God and all His wonders. I was hanging clothes out and some dried before I got to the end. So the heat is a blessing to me as well. Thanks also for sharing a hug even when scurrying off. Love you.
Hey! I just stumbled across some great pictures of you when I was organizing! You should come over sometime when you are in town the next time. My gazelle has been a little sad lately without you!!!!! I REALLY like this place!
Way to go finding clothes that fit! I know when I find pants that actually fit, I feel like buying ten pairs! Most all of my pants have to be hemmed and that is such a pain!
before we left town last week there were several amazing sunsets. some of the most brilliant oranges and purples i've seen! so, just to let you know - you weren't the only one looking up!
I love picking Gary's clothes, too. It reminds me of when I played with my Barbie dolls, only more "funner". Ken always had such lousy wardrobe choices: tux or tennis. LOL
Pennys is what I like for dress pants and sometimes you can find deals on free shipping. i can always find dress shirts at kohls. People have made fun of aaron's ties before because they aren't big and tall ties- so they have a little stub, but big/tall ties are harder to find and more expensive and i don't think the stub in the back is a big deal. i like old navy for casual clothes but i just noticed that the shipping has gone up.
Well, actually, she only put that on there because I gave her a hard time about not mentioning me specifically in her previous post. So it was just a response to a "mom guilt trip," of which I am a master! ;)
Hello everyone...
I am really not good at keeping up w/ all this..especially now-at this point in my life. Things are good-busy. Wedding planning has it's ups and downs, as most of you know. I'm getting quite a few things done, but need to stay on track better than I have been. I believe the word, delegate, will be coming up rather frequently in the future!
It's so great to hear from you all. I finally got a computer a month or two ago, so don't have any more excuses to not post. Love ya, my friends!
Hey Abby...thanks for my comment about the pics....I had the best photograper...your sister-in-law-to-be!!! We enjoyed seeing Stephen last night, sorry you were not able to come! Maybe next time!
The marriage is so much more important than the wedding. Just a thought that might come in handy when the planning gets super stressful. When is the big day?
That's what I got on my finger now...a pretty rock!!!!!! ;) It's gorgeous and he did a fabulous job! I think I'm finally believing now that I am engaged! It took about a week...hehe. Ok, so since a couple of you have been somewhat harassing me to post another entry---here goes. (I've been wanting to actually, just didn't have my own computer for a while!)
Soooo, we went out to eat last Sunday night (June 15th) with a WONDERFUL couple (that's for you Judy;) we both enjoy. It was nice...we chatted about our relationship-how we met-how we've been friends for ~7 yrs. Then we chatted about their relationship..just a relaxed, enjoyable evening (w/ a beautiful sunset might I add)! After that, Stephen wanted to show me a few parks in town that he didn't find out about till recently. He thought it would be cool to show me other places where we could rollerblade/bike together. He showed me one and then we went to another where he wanted to show me a map of BG carved out of granite. It is a pretty place/romantic setting w/ a walking bridge over the river that is all lit up at night. We were looking down at the map for several minutes when he said, "I got something for you." He proceeded to pull a box out of his suit pocket and hand it to me. I just thought it was some jewelry he had randomly gotten for me...wasn't expecting a proposal for a couple weeks! I tried to open it, but couldn't. When he helped me w/ it, I realized how nervous he was and then it somewhat started to hit me. He opened the box, I saw the ring, and I didn't believe it. I said, "Oh, you're kidding me, right?!!!!" He smiled big and shook his head. Still didn't believe it....I was totally shocked. He then got down on his knee (at this point, I was truly having an out of body experience...not believing it was happening). He took my hand and said, simply and nervously :), "Abby, will you marry me?" I said yes! We laughed, hugged, I screamed a little, and then walked around trying to let it sink in. I wanted to see the bridge and river, so we walked toward it. We crossed the bridge and were talking so much and in la-la-land that we didn't realize we had walked right over the bridge and then some. Ha!
He said that he originally wanted to rent a Corvette and drive down to Nville for a romantic evening together, but he knew I would be suspicious. He was smart, b/c I would've started thinking and wondering. I never expected what he did and never saw it coming when it did! Although, I think I will hold him to that renting a Corvette idea...how cool :->
Thanks for reading! And, I'm sorry if you have already heard this before. I've enjoyed telling it, of course! God has blessed me beyond what I deserve. I love that man of mine! Keep looking up, friends!
A much better story then the way it was told to me...Stephen telling Jason who then told me.... I was told....they went to a park with a map of BG and he asked her there :)
Aww!!! So wonderful! I am so incredibly happy for you! You deserve to have a great partner throughout life and it sounds like you got him! When you marry the "one" it ROCKS!!!!! :D
hey saw on stephen's blog that you have a date set...don't know if you need it, but I would be more than delighted to do hair for you and your gals...and I don't accept payment from friends...especially ones who call my mom a fire breathing dragon ;0
thanks for the picture. See Abby, now it's TIME FOR YOU TO UPDATE. Yes, we know you're a busy gal, but we're talking what maybe ten minutes of your time? You're so cute.
