Barack Obama hasn't actually done anything yet. Why are so many people ready to crown him savior of democracy and of the USA? If he is a good president, I'm fine with that. I'm going to wait until he actually does something to make that judgement.
I saw a children's book about Obama the other day and the subtitle was "Son of Promise". I understand why people are excited to say there will be the first black (half black) president, but this savior for the masses is completely ridiculous!
raise of gas (or anything) prices due to a natural disaster (or anything that takes advantage of people when theyve been hit) is pretty much the definition of price gouging isnt it?
That is the definition but it is based on faulty principals. The rise in price prevents shortages in the short run and allocates the suddenly more scarce goods most efficiently.
Its good to be home. I had a blast spending a month overseas but there really is no place like home. After hours of flight delays and having to explain to Delta employees how their baggage system works and why my bag wasn't on my plane, (How is it that I know it but they don't?)I'm glad to be back in Science Hill. There's no castles or palaces but everyone puts ice in their drinks and stores stay open past 6:00 pm. I'll be back in BG next week sometime but until then: Mind the Gap.
