It's not the end of the world. In fact, look at it this way -- now is the time to really show others (and maybe ourselves, as well) that IT'S ALL ABOUT GOD. And, whomever the president/king/dictator/ruler is on earth, ours will always be Him! Whatever decision was made, we can deal with it and do it with a smile on our face.
So, as I see it, PRAYER is as important now as it always is. Our dependence on God should show others how we can look above this issue. I bet now Christians can stand out even more than ever! Maybe this is what our lesson should be... "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Mt. 5:16.
hmmm, tried to write a comment and it only posted half. go to the Pleonast Guide (I see the link here on your blog) for instructions on lots of things, including hearts.
Yeah, that's how long my husband and I had to stand in line yesterday to vote. Early. And, when we came out, the line was just as long as when we went in. And it was COLD!
Steve and I had originally tried to pop in downtown (the ONLY early voting place in town!!) to vote on Tuesday morning. Yeah, right. We got there about 9:20ish. The line was wrapped around the building - and ended in the shade. BRRRRR! I wasn't wearing the appropriate clothing ...layers of clothes, scarf, gloves, extra warm socks & shoes, BIG jacket. And, no coffee to keep my insides warm. I knew right away it wasn't going to work. We stayed MAYBE 5-6 minutes before turning right around and back to the car.
I knew then I MUST PREPARE BETTER! So, I did. I brought my travel mug full of coffee, and a big bag with blankets, magazines, headphones, snacks and anything else I could think to throw in. The girl behind us was so happy to have one of my blankets. Steve had talked me into wearing his extra-large, extra heavy duty, double layered jacket. I looked ridiculous. And, I only cared for about 2 seconds. But, because of the jacket and 3 layers on under that, I didn't even need the blankets. So I shared.
And, the bank down the street sent 2 ladies with coffee and a tray of coffee fixins to serve all of us shivering in line. They were so sweet to everyone. They kept going back for refills. It reminded me how much I love living in a small town.
So, while it took us over an hour to get out of the shade into the sun, where it was only slightly warmer, the whole thing wasn't a horrible experience. We chatted with some old friends and made some new friends. And, it could have been worse. It could have been raining. Or snowing, maybe. ?
And at least I voted so now I CAN COMPLAIN, if I need to. ;-) I hope I don't need to.
I wore my "I'm a Georgia voter" sticker with pride for the rest of the day!
that's so funny. I waited an hour and it was NOT cold. I wished I had brought a book though. It's neat to meet and talk to people. I went on halloween and it was funny to see people in costumes.
Not time for a real post, but I did want to update. What's everyone got going on this week? Me? I'm off to a doctor's appointment in a bit. Plus, lots of errands and all the other usual stuff. . . yada, yada, yada.
If one of my kids does that to their ear, I will disown them.
We see it frequently here in Austin and it make my skin crawl!!!! I can handle obnoxious hairstyles/colors perhaps even a piercing but that, NO!
