Can't wait to meet Maia in person! I am thankful to God for making the adoption a success and continue to pray that Jesse, Maia and Cindy will have a safe trip home next week.
I went on a trip to North Carolina with my mom. Sydney knew that we were going to fly there and back. My mom dropped me off at the house and Sydney walked out with us to say bye to her. Once outside Sydney said,
"I can't believe I missed an airplane on our driveway."
Wouldn't that have been a sight? We explained that we drove home from the airport.
Well, we were blessed that Ike only damaged the things that we didn't mind getting damaged. Our fence was the ugliest on our street, now we will have a new, good looking one! Our metal roof on the back porch has holes in it so you were never safe on a rainy day and hopefully enough shingles missing to warrant a new roof.
Sydney missed two weeks of school, so I felt like it was the first day all over again yesterday. I think she did, too.
I have been having major eye issues lately, but after seeing an opthamologist yesterday (and a VERY good optometrist/dentist :) last weekend), it was determined that I just need different contacts. I will wear my glasses for two weeks and use a prescription eye drop 4 times a day and go for a check-up. Wednesday I was absolutely miserable, could barely open my eyes to squint until lunchtime, then could open them for small periods of time. They were sooooo red and hurt like I never could have imagined and VERY sensitive to light. Oh, and it was my birthday...I know, I know, I am getting old. I am a new woman today!!!!!!!!
Happy belated birthday. I wear contacts so I can relate to your misery. My problem is that I really am getting to where I need bi-focals and I don't want to do the bi-focal contacts so I'm gonna switch back to glasses. However I HATE wearing glasses so I'm stalling and getting frustrated when I have to read stuff.
What a birthday - hope the eye problem is corrected soon. I have had pink eye several times and know how horrible eye issues can be - no fun! Glad Ike didn't get anything you really cared about!
She looks so grown up! Did you cry? I never did until my girls started performing in school things. Then the waterworks turned on. I know it's weird! You should have heard the conversation I had with Kelli trying to tell her about her new cousin Rosemary Jo. Bless her heart she's so confused. I think I've decided to get a poster board and paste photos and then photos of people at church like ya'll who share family with us. Kelli has a hard time keeping it all straight. She loves Sydney. She tells me all of the time she wants to babysit her. I didn't have the heart to tell Kelli that after Ms. Amy has read all about her adventures that probably wouldn't happen - ha ha!
I wanted to go ahead and wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I sent you something in the mail, but I don't know if mail is slow down there or not. Also, I have called you a few times. Not sure if you saw the missed calls or got my message. Just give me a call when you have time. I'll try to call again tmrw! LOVE YOU!!!
