Not much to really report here... Ive just been working. Still havent even gotten my pictures from England developed yet! Although, I have moved the disposable cameras to my purse, just a matter of dropping them off.
We just recently got Greyson's 2 yr old pictures. It is sooo past time to potty train him! When we are about to go to bed at night, he tells me "I need a fresh diaper first" or sometimes he'll just come tell me "I need a fresh diaper, please". He's picked up the whiny please, to try and get his way and seems to tack that on to the end of most sentences here lately. The other thing he has been doing that cracks us up, is he will clasp his little hands in front of his chest and in a higher pitched voice tell us "I'm so excited!" The first time this happened was when we took him to an astros game.
Prayers for all that are effected by Ike and it's spillage, and distruction. May the Lord keep them all safe and may people return to their jobs and not be flooded out of a job.
i know. it's so unjust and cruel that there is even such a team as the longhorns. it's not very fair to all the other texas big 12 teams out there. why can't they be winners too? :P
Longhorns may hold the key to sports right now... but Aggies are winners in the game of life. Also, highlighted as the most conservative school in the nation.... I bet those longhorns love the change obama is promising!
Savannah is planning to pretend you are her big sister this next week. She is really wanting a sister here lately! She told us we could go in the woods and find a little girl without parents to be her sister.
It was so nice to meet you too! That little boy is soooooooo cute!!! I'm really hoping they'll be able to do my eyes! I go for pre-op next week...I can't wear my contacts for 3 days! lol that'll be fun....
Has anyone else tried to open a huge kitchen trash bag with one hand, trying to get enough air in it to expand so you can throw whatever you are holding in your opposite hand in there, only to so violently try to shake it open that a corner of the trash bag comes up and slashes your eyeball?
Its my last night here. I have been extremely homesick! I miss Greyson terribly and everyday I have talked to him, I have cried! He sounds like he is talking even better than when I left him last sunday!!!
Otherwise, I have been missing my mexican food, whataburger, my bed, and friendly strangers! I have been well taken care of as far as food and private drivers, so that has been nice.
Some of the highlights of my trip:
- being picked up by a middle easterner at the airport! but once I saw I was going to be riding in a very nice mercedes, I just let that slide...
- seeing that the music video channel here, has a sign language person in the corner, that not signs the song to the hearing impaired, but dances while doing it! let's just say the two different signers I saw were not the epitome of "cool" while dancing...
- eating Thai food for the first time
- getting my 6 month review, and a new boss that says he will see about geting me a raise
- being introdued to the music of Scissor Sisters
- Learning the difference between the United Kingdom vs. England; as well as the difference between being English, Welsh or Scottish
- that non diet coke, is called fat coke! lol
- and appreciatng the luxuries we have and take for granted in the U.S.
I'm flying home tomorrow, so would appreciate your prayers for a safe flight. I will post some pictures, once I get home and get them developed (yeah I used disposal cameras!)
I would say it did not live up to my hype. I'm a little disappointed with the song selection. Although, since I haven't gotten to all of them yet, I should withhold that judgment.
it was really enjoyed to get to meet you at the singing. i'm sorry I didn't to go to dinner with ya'll. next time i will be sure to bring my own truck so i will have a little more freedom.
Well I leave two weeks from today for England. This is the third time my company has asked me to go over, and I didn't have an excuse left to give. And since my company is so frugal (read cheap), I have to stay through the weekend as it saved about $800 in airfare. Guess I will have to do some sightseeing.
My company has an office in Ascot, but I will actually be staying in Windsor. I will be checking out Windsor castle, and the horse fanatic that I am, must see the infamous Ascot racecourse. Might place a trifecta bet... kidding!!! One of my co-workers has asked that she and I have Friday off, so that she can show me around. We will also be exploring London on Saturday.
Has anyone here been over, and if so, any recommendations of places to see or things I should do? (Caryn I expect a long email from you!)
Now apart from that, can anyone suggest some coping skills or medication for me? This will be the first time ever I have left Greyson overnight, or for more than a few hours!!!
Here are a couple places to check out in London: Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Hyde Park, Tower Bridge, and the Crown Jewels just to name a few. One of these days I would like to go back for a visit. Hope you have a good time.
Your actually kinda close. It's the national bowling tournament. Runs from February to July. The first week is also the annual convention for the sport's governing body.
LOL...you will be near Wales, so check out the Royality there, as well! William got his Mom's looks she was from Wales! Bring back Pictures especially of the Royalty line up...LOL..LOL Safe flight. Just think of your son taking a vacation too...not that he needs it, but it is helpful to think that way. =)
i loved windsor! it was one of my favorite places in all of england. my absolute favorite area was the lake country, but it doesn't sound like you'll have the time to make it up there. but enjoy the rest--you'll love it. it's been 10 years ago this summer since i went, and i can't wait to go back at some point WITH chris.
Windsor is not very near Wales. Harrods is not a mall. If the weather is good, I highly recommend taking a trip on the Thames, perhaps downstream from Westminster or the Embankment to Tate Modern. The Tate Modern gallery is south of St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Millennium Footbridge spans the Thames between the Tate Modern and St. Paul's. I haven't yet ridden the London Eye yet, but again, if it is a clear & bright day, apparently the views are amazing. If you can pre-book your ride, so much the better. So will you be travelling on Sunday 1 June to England, and then returning on Sunday 8 June?
Ahhh, got to love those dry Brits. I was being facetious about Harrod's. And yes, I will arrive the morning of June 2 and depart the morning of the 8th.
That sounds like it will be very neat! I bet it is beautiful! I am glad you have weaned the mamma boy! ;) i hope you are getting some sleep now! i think you will be pretty busy and that alone will be sufficient to keep your mind off home for most of the day, but i wouldn't know what to say. i don't think i have been away from the kids for more than 2 nights...just try to enjoy your time and break. i would take some good material to read and read scripture and spend time in prayer for strength to be the best mom ever (like you already are being!) and that would be time well spent! ;) i will be praying for your travels!
just letting everyone know that amber got there safely around 3:30 am our time! im sure she'll have lots to share when she gets a chance... so far greyson is doing ok. then again, im at work all day so maybe my mother or bliss needs to update on that. but he was ok last night anyway. :)
greyson is learning. this is why when a girl uses that old trite saying and promises she doesn't bite, i just think to myself, "ha! yeah right you don't!"
You and Amanda need to come see us (of course with the little man). I know a person I want you two to meet. E mail me some info about how he can talk to you.
