Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, For there you have been, and there you will always long to return.
- Leonardo da Vinci
I posted this in the Christian Announcments group forum but thought I'd try here too.
I'll be traveling to Oshkosh, WI & am looking for a sound congregation to worship with while I'm there. If you know of one in the area please let me know & include any contact info you have for them (location, phone numbers etc.).
I've been in Norman working on my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) Certificate all summer...and as of yesterday I'm done.
So today is really my first day of summer...and I'm so glad it's finally here.
I'll be in WI for the rest of this week & then leave for a week trip to MO to see family & then be back in Houston in time for the ALief Singing & be home for a couple weeks.
Jared flies into Austin on the 11th. Orintation on Thursday and Friday and then he is going to get in touch with you about you two getting together before you go back.
Hey :) Glad to hear you're doing well and getting a few weeks vacation! I'll try to find out about a church for you. I know several people who travel for meetings and such so maybe I can find something. Take care!
(Verse 34 is referenced back to Isaiah 40:13 and verse 35 is referenced to Job 41:11)
Romans 11:
33: Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge
of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and His ways
past finding out!
34: "For who has known the mind of the LORD?
Or who has become His counselor?"
35: "Or who has first given to Him and it
shall be repaid to him?"
36: For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to
whom be glory forever. Amen.
thanks ...i hear you're pretty close to being done yourself :) and I've tried Braum's before but it's just not the same. I really feel sorry for all those underpriviledged North TX and OK kids that have never experienced the beauty of an old as dirt, slightly less than clean TX DQ. ;)
the time difference is your time plus 6 hours. most any time between about noon (i know that's a little early on your side of the world) and 10:00 pm should be fine. we're normally home in the afternoons. look forward to talking to you soon!
hey! yeah, it has been awhile...everythings good here, just finishing up all the details for transfering to UH in August. How's everything going for you? I can't believe your sister is going to college!
Today was one of those odd days where things are so stressful and then you just hit this oasis of relief...
I spent this morning flight planning a mock flight to Abilene, TX for my Commercial Checkride. It was odd planning the flight because I knew I wouldn't even get to start flying it due to the weather being so bad here but the purpose of it is more to give your examiner fodder to...well...examine you with. So all I got done today as far as the check ride goes was the oral...which I passed (I'm yelling this inside my head). We're supposed to have freezing rain/snow/rain sunday & into monday so I'm scheduled to possibly take the flying part on tuesday. Just getting the oral done is a huge weight off.
I got this package today...and in it was a banner...(along with a bunch of cookies that I'm happily munching)...THANK YOU to all who sent well wishes! (Lol, I can't help but laugh when I look at this thing...there is everything from fuzz to lipstick stuck on this banner).
Only one week of this semester left. Hope y'all are doing well and I look forward to seeing y'all soon :)
The St.Louis NIFA trip was a blast. Everyone on our team was entirely new to NIFA and had no idea what to expect from competition...and it showed (I'll leave how we placed at that). We only got 1.5 flying events in because of the nasty cold and wet weather we had all week. St.Louis is a really neat city, lots of great places to eat. Did you know what most of us know as Panera Bread started in St.Louis?
Since the trip and getting caught up from missing a weeks worth of classes things have settled down a little bit, fall has set in which means the leaves are changing and it's great mountain biking weather. I can't wait to be home for Thanksgiving!
Sounds like you're having lots of fun! Looks like we will miss each other for Thanksgiving, hopefully I'll get to see you around Christmas when Jared is here. Have fun!
i actually did know that about panera bread. i had to watch a short video on that company in my management class (apparently they have a good business model or something like that)
Ya it seems to be going well. Today was my first day at work and it was so cool! Every one is really cool and laid back. I get to do my own thing and the Tower was really cool, 250ft high with a cat walk around the outside and just super cool. It was a great first day. It going to be a cool job.
