I went by Moe's yesterday, and they have a large (professionally made) sign out front that says:
Enjoy a beer with your burritto.
Really, Moe's? I'm not sure why a place like Moe's Southwest Grill has trouble spelling a word that is all over their menu. I was so shocked, I had to look at it several times to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
I agree... WOW. And I'm trying to remember what the sign in front of the BK on campbell said yesterday...it was similar in that it had a horrible grammar error. You'll have to look for it...
Funny conversation I heard in the gym this morning, and then I will say no more about the new president. The gym doesn't open until 6 am, so a few minutes before that, we have to stand around and wait. There are two older men who are always there, and today this is what happened.
Old man #1: "I'm making my list."
Old man #2: "Checking it twice?"
*they laugh* haha. Cute old men.
Old man #1: "No. Now that we're going to be redistributing things, I'm making my list of who will be giving to me. I'm not going to be able to donate much, so I figure I'll be the one receiving."
Then they started talking about how their generation already had a turn in the White House, so that's why this generation was looking to elect a younger man.
It definitely made me laugh to hear the opinions of someone of that generation. That's it. No more talk about it.
In other news, Phil Fulmer stepped down, because he was forced. Ha! Good thing he did that before the results of the election or I might not have even found out thanks to all the news focusing on politics. So long, Phil. He was a great coach for many years, but unfortunately, those many years don't really include the last couple of years. It's weird to think about UT without him, but he left a pretty good legacy (it makes it sound like he died). Here's to hoping we get lucky and find someone who can do for us what Saban did for...those guys.
...because UT has won a 3rd game. WOW. I didn't see it coming, truly. I have been hoping that we would not win again, because I think it will take something drastic to get rid of Fulmer. Oh well. If only we could have Peyton back. Maybe he'll lose his mind and retire to be our coach in the next few years. ;) Until then, I'm hoping to have anyone other than Phil.
So, graduation is getting closer and closer by the day, and my stress level is increasing at the same rate. Isn't it a shame that school becomes so stressful that it is rarely enjoyed and appreciated? So many people don't have the opportunity to get a college degree, and yet, all most of us college kids can think about is getting out as fast as possible. Can you blame us? I'm pulling for a good GPA, even though "Cs get degrees" (lame).
Halloween is coming up! I so wish I had a great costume idea, but at this point I only have a lame fall back option. Like last year, I'm going to party with West End folks. However, unlike last year, I'm hoping I don't step in the pie that people will have to eat. :)
You know...you could always come down to TTown where your true friends are and start pulling for the Tide! Glad you're getting better at interpreting political speak! Any idea who you're going to vote for yet?
I know, I was just kidding. I've never been tempted to change teams just because they may be having a stinky season - and that has happened to Bama but I try not to think about those days. I'm just basking in the glory of a so far perfect season this year!!
oh and hey have you been watching the SNL weekend updates that are on Thursday? If not you need to look up Kenan's character Oscar...something..."FIX IT!"
has officially started. Well, it started earlier this morning after I got out of my first class. My afternoon class was canceled today, and I was thrilled about that. However, fall break isn't as exciting this year as it has been in years past, because I don't have any classes on Thursday, and I only have one on Friday, so I'm not benefiting that much. I am planning on going home tomorrow after work though. This Saturday is the Race for the Cure in Nashville, and I'm on team Bush. I'm glad I get to do this, cause it's always seemed like a great thing to participate in. It's a 5k, and I'll be honest, I'm not a runner. Therefore, I might be passed out on the pavement by the end of the race. At least I'll give it a shot. Plus, I'm missing boot camp Friday b/c of the break, so this can make up for it. It will be the first time I've seen any of my friends since back in December at Melanie's funeral, so it will be good/weird to see them all again. Other than that, life has been about the same. Nothing too crazy, but I figured it was about time for my bi-monthly update. Oddly enough, bi-monthly can either mean twice a month or every two months, according to askoxford.com. In my case, I meant every two months. Just so you know.
***********************************EDIT***********************************
The race on Saturday was really great! I don't think anyone could call what I did a 'race', but it was a good experience. My friends and I had a really great time. A few of my friends ran the whole thing, but 2 of my friends and I decided we'd rather walk and talk. If I were to do it at any point on my own, I'd love to run it. However, I'm glad we walked. It gave us some time to catch up. There were over 10,000 people there, and they raised at least $1 million. 2 friends and I also got interviewed for the website. I'm really glad I got to participate. I would definitely recommend others do it. Even if you're not racing in memory or celebration of anyone, it's a great thing. Just seeing all of the people there was amazing! They had a ton of booths set up with free stuff, food, and several different t-shirts that we could vote on. Not sure what will happen to the winning t-shirt, but they were really cute. Plus, before the race, Panera brought a TON of bagels. I got the Pink Ribbon Bagel-it had cranberries, cherry, and vanilla, and it was in the shape of the ribbon. I never eat bagels because I'm not usually a fan, but this one was really good! From the free stuff I got pink shoelaces, a reusable Kroger tote bag with the pink ribbon, and a pink hair scarf. I loved seeing all the different companies out there supporting the cause! Definitely a 5 star event.
Also, I just started week 2 of the 100 push-up challenge. I have no way to know how I'll progress, but I am fully aware that it may take me an extra week or two, and I'm looking forward to keeping it up!
hi, ashley! i was a little out of it on sunday...i hope i didn't seem rude when i gave you that invitation to give to your mom. it hit me later that i didn't even say hello, just "can you give this to your mom?"...sorry about that! maybe i'll see you this sunday :)
Today was my first day of the last semester of my undergrad school career. Woohoo! Here's the reader's digest version: it poured down rain, and though I had an umbrella, umbrellas do not protect the bottom of pants, especially when the pants are being worn by a short person and drag the ground by 3 inches. The bus after class was 15 minutes late, so standing in the humid downpour was less than appealing. However, I only had one class. I have a friend! in this class, so I think it'll be fun. Plus, I signed up for the class because I liked the teacher, so at least I know what I'm dealing with. Also, I saw a couple of other FCers. Even though it's typically for fleeting moments when it happens, I always enjoy seeing familiar faces.
I then came home to change into something not drenched, or just to dry the drenched clothing. I wasn't feeling well, so I went into work late. Then I went to a visit at the park for 2 hours. The park was wet, OBVIOUSLY, so we sat under the pavilion the whole time. 5 kids, 4 of them under the age of 10. They do not need to be confined to a pavilion. Let's just leave it at that.
My parents have been gone for several days now on their big trip. We can text each other, so I've been able to keep track of them, which is a relief. I've gotten a text almost every day so far, so I know they're doing well! They've never been out of the country while we were left here. I'm so used to knowing that if anything happens, I can call either of them and get help, so them not being 1 hour away worries me. So I'm just hopeful that for the remaining 6 days there will be no emergencies! I can't wait until they get back and tell us everything!
it stinks to because I really liked working there and everyone thought we were doing great and that business was going to really take off. But i heard from one of the servers yesterday that Danny was having to take out a loan just to make out paychecks....odd since he drives a mercedes and lives in a $400,000 house.
but last month one of the servers was arrested for felony theft so that might have soemthing to do with it.....I wonder how much money it has to be to be considered felony theft...
I never responded but you def should read the Twilight series. I'm in the 4th HP book so I can no longer say that I love the Twilight series more but I can say that I loved the series, very much!
