We came out to our van one time in FL and NOTHING would work - not even the locks and doors. The battery cable was COMPLETELY off - and waving to the passing cars in a friendly sort of way. Glad yours was an easy fix too!
Isn't it nice to have a handy hubby??? Just don't let it get around or you will never have him around because he will be fixing things for everyone else because not everyone is as blessed as you :)
I decided it's time for that monthly update on Knoxville life...
The Bad News
I had my longest, meanest call to date today. Lasted an hour and fifteen minutes. Ridiculous. I've never spoken with anyone more stubborn.
My car broke down. I was stranded at work on a Wednesday. Matt had to rescue me and we missed services. That's the pretty stinky thing about getting off at 6:30.
My hair hates me. It desperately wants a haircut and it tangles itself into huge knots to punish me. Layers soon to come.
The Good News
Gas...keeps going down...finally below 2.00 a gallon here. I still don't consider it cheap, but a definite improvement.
We are about 95% sure my car just needs a new battery. We jumped it and got it home without a tow fee.
Getting to see the family soon in Middle Tennessee.
haha! Sorry about the bad news. Some people are just rude. :-p Good news sounds great though! We'll be excited to pay less than 8 bucks a gallon when we get back, so under two dollars sounds awesome! Can't wait to see you soon! :-)
He rescued me last winter when my battery died. Must be a new sideline of his. You mean they don't let you use one of them air horns for the nasty callers? Maybe you should put that in the suggestion box.
So now we know who to call when we have a dead battery. Ah - I'm sure you have your share of 'fun' calls! I've had my share of cust serv people who have no idea what they are doing. When I get a good one, I usually try to get the manager on the phone to let them know of the good experience.
My hair was doing the very same thing and guess what....Hair cuts work wonders on unruley hair!! As long as your three year old doesn't get to it first!!
Life is still going about the same as usual. Since I last posted we went to volleyball mania and had a lot of fun and I turned 23. Other than that...nothing really to report. Thanks for all the birthday well wishes.
We are planning on going to v-ball mania again this weekend. They will be going with us as well along with our friend, Karl. Anybody have an 8 passenger van they want to loan us??? Or know of a good deal on a rental???
My folks are coming to town October 8th and should be here 3 or 4 days. Matt and I both have the time off on Thursday and Friday to spend with them. I'm looking forward to the visit.
Played Settlers of Catan a couple times this weekend. Hoping to buy the game before the Thanksgiving extravaganza. I can't imagine the type of game it would be with all the "Duggins" involved. Crazy.
Other than that...we've been enjoying watching the Titans winning streak. BEAT BALTIMORE! We are not so happy about our Vols. I think I've already written off the season. Looking forward to basketball season though.
Guess I had more to say than I thought. :D Take care.
Hmm, another possibility we failed to consider for Sat is if one of us "water skied" behind your vehicle ... I bet Carl could do it. As long as we've got some skis and some rope, we could just drag one of us behind on the road. I see nothing wrong with this idea!
Last night we ventured out after church to Boomsday. I hear it's the biggest fireworks show in the South. Knoxville spends about $100,000 on the show--I know, tax dollars up in smoke. Too bad I forgot my camera. If you are in the K'ville area Labor Day weekend, I definitely recommend braving the crowds to see it.
Next weekend...unless there is some nasty weather...we are playing to go to Volleyball Mania in Manchester. We are really looking forward to getting to see all our M'boro friends, the good food, and, of course, the volleyball. We will probably only be there Saturday...so I expect the whole Westvue congregation to come to volleyball this month. :)
Well I'll be, I looked it up and it is your BIRTHDAY. If I'd known I would have told you happy birthday this morning on the phone. Shame on me. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
