apparently there's a meteor shower tonight that can be seen from the United States. It's the Leonid meteor shower that started November 10. It is supposed to peak tonight (Nov. 17th) somewhere between one and three hours after midnight. If you find a dark place, look to the east of the constellation Leo the Lion and you should be able to see it. It could be just a few shooting stars or up to hundreds per hour. definitely worth checking out! Good thing i dont have school on Tuesdays! :)
Below is a picture of the constellation Leo. It obviously doesnt look like what you are seeing, but if you look closely, it shows you where the moon is and also connects the dots of the actual constellation within the picture.
Great TV you got there. Emily and I just got a 32" Sharp LCD (our 3rd HDTV) this past Sunday evening. Nothing fancy because it's for upstairs and is for watching the news while riding the bike or using the Wii Fit.
If you and Derek feel like inviting us over sometime, I'll bring my home theater setup DVD and tune the color on your screen and you'll enjoy that new HDTV even more.
Hayley and her doctor agreed to try the surgery again. It wasn't supposed to be scheduled for a while, but my mom called this morning at about 7 am and told me that they were going to do it today and they were taking her back within the hour. I was a little upset because i wanted to see her before the surgery for obvious reasons, but i simply said a prayer for her and hoped for the best.
thank you for all of your continued thoughts and prayers on her behalf. they have been answered!
The surgery went great. Every hour or so, the docs came out to talk with Hayley's parents to update them on the status of the surgery. The problem that came up the previous time with the bleeding was avoided this time around and the docs were able to get done the things that were hoped for. She had a ball of bunched up nerves in her lower back that was causing her severe nerve pain. They were able to stretch them back out to their proper place and they said that she will no longer experience this pain. They also finished re-breaking the pelvis and tailbone areas in order to re-align them to their correct spots. She can't put weight on her legs for 3 months, but as soon as those 3 months are over she will go to TIRR which is a rehab center where she will learn to walk again and do other physical therapy.
Doc says that she will have a normal recovery and will walk again soon!! What a blessing she has received! I thank God for answering these prayers. Now I pray for the continued opportunities that i may be given in order to help her come to Christ. thank you all again for your continued prayers. it certainly made this week a LOT better!
in other news (not nearly as important, but still important enough to mention), I will be spending my weekend in Lubbock! Oh, the joys of Ebay. :)
So thankful for Hayley's progress, and the surgery went well!! I pray each day brings more recovery, and that her heart will be open to the Truth. I'm proud of you!!
Glad she made it through surgery fine this time. I wish you the best in your continued desire to lead her to Christ. God be with you and her. Have a safe trip! GO Red Raiders!!
