Jennett update 07-23-08 03:43pm EST
Surgery appears to have been a success! She in surgery for about 6 hours - much less than the 16 hours it COULD have been.

I got to see her last night for about 3 minutes and the thing she was most worried about - not being able to see or move her left arm was put to rest - she could do BOTH!

Thank you so much for all the wonderful prayers and praise to God for His healing hand. She still has a long way to go, but she's doing great!

Thanks again!

Angie
karenbaizeSo glad the surgery went well. We'll continue to pray for her.
amyjane72wonderful news angie! God is good!
betsysWonderful news! She will continue to be in my prayers.

Update on my friend, Jennett 07-15-08 09:34am EST
Hey everyone - just got an email from Jennett that she sent out to all her "long distance friends" and I wanted to share it with you. It looks like she is going to have a long recovery and she's pretty scared. Please keep her in your prayers. Her surgery is set for a week from today (July 22nd)

FROM JENNETT: "My tumor is about the size of a lemon and is located right above my hairline in the centerish of my head, just to the right.

My speech and hearing should be fine, but I am facing possible vision loss and paralysis in my left arm, leg and possibly face. It may very well be just loss of strength and hopefully temporary.

I go in for embolization of the tumor on Monday and the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning. It may take 4-16 hours. I should be out of the N-ICU (nuero not natal, goofs) within 24-48 with 5-7 more days in a step down unit.

The doc is still confident that he won't have to shave my head and that I will not have a scar on my face. I can't get my head wet for 10 days and I can'tcomb it for 3 weeks! I will look totally rasta if I make it through this... "
greatestisloveWow, I bet she is scared! Do they know if it is benign or malignant? Or will they find that out after the surgery? Will pray for her! And her family and you. Hugs
christyb38362(((((hugs))))))
all_gods_childrenThat has got to be tough. Praying for her and her family.
my3sonswill pray for her! I can't imagine how she feels. That's so scary!

My babies are HOME 07-08-08 09:43am EST
YAY!! We got the girls back on Saturday and they are so happy to be home! We drove 9 1/2 hours to Jacksonville, FL on Saturday morning and drove 10 1/2 hours back to Richmond on Sunday - all in all - 20 hours in the car in the course of 36 hours. WHEW!!!

aikenapeGlad you had a safe trip, even if it was a fast one.
christyb38362so glad to hear you made it back safe. How is Jennett?
betsysI'm glad to hear that you guys are coming to the picnic!
all_gods_childrenThat sure is a lot of driving! Glad you had a safe trip!
fogGood grief! That is a lot of time behind the wheel! I kept thinking of the sound of the gas station cash registers- they were loving you, no doubt! Glad your babies are safe at home-that's the important thing. =)
betsysIt was good seeing you guys yesterday. Thanks for coming! We may have to do it more often so that all of the kids sleep good!
greatestisloveThanks, it is different, but I do love it...taking some getting use to and learning how to do a little styling to it.
Yes, the dress is probably somewhat from the American Girl books/movies. Mom and her were really getting into them last year and they did Williamsburg and such of course too while she was out there....

Sounds like a long trip! But fun too! ;-) How cool hubby got to be on stage!!!!

Update on Jennett 07-02-08 02:58pm EST
I got a call from Jennett around lunchtime after her visit with the Neurosurgeon (which is AMAZINGLY fast to get seen after being diagnosed in the ER only last night..)

She is going to have to have surgery, and it's tenatively scheduled on 7/15 (she had a vacation planned for this weekend and next week and the doctor said it was fine for her to take it). She will be in the hospital for about a week and then on bed rest for 3 weeks after that. She can't drive for 6 months - which is going to drive her crazy! She's an AVON lady with a BOOMING business, so I have a feeling her mom and I will be driving her around for a few months while she points to her customer's houses.

She seemed in much better spirits than last night. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers. She is very dear to me and it's been a rough day so far. She joked that she gets to give one more donation to Locks of Love before they shave her head (she has GORGEOUS thick hair)

Prayers Needed 07-01-08 11:08pm EST
I just got back from the ER from a visit with my best friend, Jennett. She just found out tonight that she has a brain tumor. She doesn't know if it is cancer or not - she just had a CAT scan and MRI today at the hospital. SHe meets with a Neuro-Surgeon tomorrow to go over options. When I left tonight, the radiologist was about to go over the MRI results with her.

Please keep her and her family in your prayers. She has 2 young daughters - ages 10 and 8 and a wonderful husband. She is also not a Christian (yet - we are working on it!) so please pray for that as well.

Thank you all.
karenbaizepraying for her and her family

cbairdWhat a tough thing to have to go through... but it sounds as if they caught it early on and can hopefully take care of it. Keep us updated. :o)
