Said the Robin to the Sparrow:
"I should really like to know,
Why these anxious human beings
Rush around and worry so?"
Said the Sparrow to the Robin:
"Friend, I think it must be,
That they have no heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me!"

Aaaaand on another note...
Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music, feel the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
Any time you want!! Just let me know!! And, actually, I need to get down to Alabama one of these days... so we will have to work something out! Have a good night!
I found the creamer at Wal Mart...also Pumpkin Pie Spice (which I had last year, also Gingerbread, Peppermint Cocoa and some other kind...I'm a sucker for those seasonal flavors, so I try to 'stock up' on them and freeze them). Coffee and creamer are two of my weaknesses (along with chocolate, naturally!) Good thoughts up there, by the way. Very true!
Hey there... do you know of ANYONE from around here that is driving home for Thanksgiving break? I am desperately seeking a ride for Geoffrey. If you hear of anyone I would greatly appreciate it if you would drop a note on my blog. (If they only have room for one its okay cause Katie says she has been invited to friends)
Oh, my mind and my heart! How they desire to use mere words to portray all thoughts and feelings. But all those words, those simple symbols we use to attempt to portray an object, or an emotion, or a thought...they so often seem unworthy to give any sort of accurate description!
But here is the irony...those very words that could never seem to incapsulate the things we truly think or feel are the very things that so often provoke us to those deep thoughts and deep feelings.
Here we so evidently see God's wisdom. He has given us a book full of His words. Beautiful, demanding, encouraging, rebuking words. We read them, and we understand. But it is our responsibility to meditate on them. To put them in our hearts, and teach them to our children, and talk of them all day long, and bind them between our eyes. When we meditate on God's words, our hearts and our minds race...we begin to realize the depth of those words, the depth of God's mind and the depth of God's love...and then we realize just how absolutely uncomprehensible and undescribable He truly is. How majestic, and holy, and worthy of all praise. We realize how unworthy we are and that there are no terms degrading enough to describe our state without Him, and no terms worthy enough to praise His name.
So we pray, and we sing, and we plead, "Listen to our hearts, Oh Lord, please listen! Hear our spirits sing a song of praise that flows from those You have redeemed. We will use the words we know to tell you what an awesome God You are, but words are not enough to tell you of our love, so listen to our hearts."
"If words could fall like rain from these lips of mine, and if I had a thousand years, Lord, I would still run out of time."
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Ps. 139:23-24)
Isaiah 29:13 - "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me..."
Our words can never, ever be good enough for God, and thankfully that is not what He wants from us...He wants our hearts and out of a pure heart will flow pure praise!
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. (Mt.5:8)
How can I praise Thee, King of Kings?
Still to my soul this burden clings.
Thou so great, and I so small,
How can I praise Thee, Lord of All?
Give me a voice to sing Thy praise;
Righteous and true in all Thy ways.
Beautiful song of love divine,
Thankful, my God, that I am Thine! -Gilbert Alexander
Thanks for these thoughts, Anna. May God help us to better see our need to use words to praise Him for the words He's given us!
What shall I render to the LORD
For all His benefits toward me? Psalm 116:12
i always feel that words are entirely insufficient to describe emotions. that's why i love singing hymns so much. i feel that the music expresses what words will never be able to.
Amen. I may not be the most physically content I've been right now, but if God has shown me anything this year, it's just how much more I need to grow in His service.
Be still my soul; Thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past...
