So far the meeting has gone really well...except for the rain, hail, tornado watch, floods, and other horrible weather in this area - I am starting to wonder when the locusts are coming!
No, it hasn't been that bad, but it is probably the reason our numbers have been down a bit. Yesterday morning we had a really good turnout and a few visitors, but in the evening we were lower than hoped for. The service was still great and the singing was uplifting as always!
Thanks for the prayers concerning the meeting and my granddad. Keep 'em coming and hopefully we'll have a better crowd tonight!
Hey Matt do ya think you could talk 2 Cory about bein' babtized? Cause' when I talked about it with him a long timae ago, he said he wuz thinkin' about it! just let me know-Katie White
Hey Matt, its Jeremy Ferguson just dropped by to make sure you got my message about why I didn't come tonight. Change of plans took me out of the area. Hope it ended well. Also I thought you might be interested to catch up with her. Take it easy
Matt King! Are you ready for Gustav!? Feel free to head to nac if you need to. I don't think it will be that bad but I have water and a couch if you need it.
For anyone in East Texas we're having a Gospel Meeting at the Pineland Church of Christ starting Sunday and going through Tuesday evening, March 30 through April 1.
There will also be a singing on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
All are welcome to come and we hope to see you there!
Hiya Matt, Cory iz still a preacher's pet!! oh, and I may try 2 get my freind Chaelsey Nichols 2 go 2 church on Sunday, oh & whats ^ with the video? Your friend Katie White. ( chelsey is caanf1) bye
My parents should be there, but Reese and I will not. She was up all night...sick. I was looking forward to worshipping with you all and meeting you. Maybe soon.
Bad day yesterday my friends, bad day indeed. It would seem that Walker (My blue Ford Ranger with Texas plates) is terribly ill - transmission problems of course.
He broke down in Lufkin yesterday - which is actually a good thing because I had my choice of several tranny places to take him. I had to rent a car - a Ford Focus (smallest and cheapest they had). I'm supposed to get a call from the repair shop over the next couple of days to find out what exactly is wrong with him, but I am sure it is not good (in other words expensive).
Other than that, everything's great. Tia's coming to see me next week and I can't wait! I better quit messing around on the net and get to work...hasta la vista!
I hate car trouble! Actually I hate cars! I blew out a transmission in my van a few years ago. It cost about $2,500 to get it replaced. Had to walk two miles to a pay phone and feed all the mosquitoes in south east Texas waiting for the tow truck. That was not a good day.
Chad and I decided that your truck didn't like my temperature. Since I was neither hot nor cold it vomited me out of it's bed on the way to services that fateful Wednesday night. Farewell Walker, we shall miss thee...
Well, turns out it was not the flu. Went to the doctor yesterday and i seem to be allergic to something around here - probably pine or something. She said I also picked up some virus that was causing me stomach sickness and aching.
Whatever it is I am drowning it with claritin, singulair, and some kind of steroids - the doctor really took care of me!! I feel bad for everyone at church as they've had to listen to my scratchy voice and coughing for the past couple of services. Hopefully all that will be cleared up by Sunday!
I really wanted to go to Dallas this weekend and go to the singing at Westside COC in Irving. I have never been before but I'm sure its great and I would love to go - but ofcourse I had to get sick and get behind in work! Have any of you ever been to that singing before?
I was also looking forward to seeing my parents and to visiting Tia, but I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer.
Other than that, all is well here in Pineland! The house is coming together nicely and everyone in the church has been very helpful as far as appliances, kitchen utencils, bath necessities etc. It's actually starting to look like a home instead of a warehouse!
In any case I am feeling extremely blessed at this point in my life. God has chosen to really take care of me and I am doing my best to thank Him as often as I can, to use what He has given me to the best of my ability, and to never ever take these blessings for granted!
