Labor Day Weekend 09-02-08 10:00am EST
James, Amber and I had a great weekend together. We were kind of busy! We went shopping a few times (James bought a reel mower for himself, and we finally purchased a lovely rug for the living room), ate at Moe's (YUM!), visited the local merchants in downtown Newnan and on the Square, had lunch with one of my favourite pleo-lurkers and her husband (her mom and dad) on Sunday afternoon, and met one of our new sisters in Christ, a girl that my brother taught and baptized in Mississippi, but who recently moved to the area to teach in Jonesboro. There was also movie watching and Wii playing and walk taking, and it all added up to a really fun time.

Mom is planning to come visit on Thursday to take me to lunch for an early birthday celebration (I'm turning 24 on Saturday). I'm looking forward to having some Mom-time. I get a bit parched every now and then.

I still don't have a job, but I am finally at peace about waiting to get the right one. Huge thanks to James for helping me reach this mindset. I feel that I will be a much happier and more productive person now that I won't be dealing with the guilt of not having a job.

Happy day to you!
belleWhere did you get your rug? I'm on the hunt for one right now too...I guess I'm pretty picky though, because I've looked at hundreds and haven't found the right one (also at the right price!) yet. I'm glad James has been supportive during your job hunt! Definitely don't feel guilty! I'm sure you're doing good things with your time that you wouldn't otherwise have been able to do. Enjoy the rest of your week! :)
nthnswmnHappy Birthday on Saturday. I forgot you were a Sept. birthday, too...Sept. is our big month. Nathan and I will have been married 8 years on the 9th and then both our birthdays are this month! Actually, I share a birthday with your grandmother :-)
nthnswmnAnd hey - take good care of my bro and sister in law...I hope we'll see you soon when we come and visit over there!
simon_saysMom had to reenact the slingshot monkey episode for us yesterday. I was ready to bury the thing myself. :)
mreid72Happy Birthday!

A friend of mine (Jeff Carr) said he's talking to a church in Newnan about the preaching job. Is that the church where you attend, or do you know?
simon_saysI agree! :)
southern_yankee_momHappy Early birthday!!! Enjoy your mom time. I know I always enjoy mine! :)
bama_momma_prezzLove the picture :)
heatherfeatherHappy early birthday!
mumaYes, I'd like a bumper sticker like that! (Only I don't think Dennis likes to put them on the car. Maybe there's another way to display it.) Early Happy Birthday greetings to you as well. I hope your time with your Mom is lovely. (I'm sure it will be.) Maybe the two of you should just jump in the car and make a little drive out here to Texas! I would love to see the both of you. Open invitation to you anytime you can come see us!
chachabooI love that girl! Anything I can do to help I will be happy to!
shrtwscrybrowsHAPPY DAY! Hope your birthday is great!
cellophaneHappy birthday!!!
ginnyannHappy Birthday! a few days late. Hope it was great!

A Question 08-28-08 10:33pm EST
What would you do, and how would you feel, if you found out that your postman was reading your mail?

My bad. This question was purely hypothetical. A real "What if?" My postman isn't reading my mail.
jojophotoewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! really? isn't that a federal offense?
nthnswmnConsidering that's illegal I would report him to the his management and then, if they didn't take care of it, contact the authorities.
Is he actually opening and reading your mail?
donnajocreeped out...
mreid72Oh my. What Bekah said.
dr_funkypantsi would mail a letter to myself saying, "Dear Mr. Postman, I know where you sleep....".....hey seriously, AJ, do you by chance have Adam Kendall-Ball's email address? I need to get in touch with him about something...thanks!
simon_saysReport him and be creeped out. Oh, and I'd also check my credit report to make sure he wasn't doing anything with the results of snooping.
mmmcoffeedo: report him. feel: violated.
emeleelWell, I don't think I'd feel exactly "creeped out" because I never get anything in the mail to feel that way about. Violated, yes. I would *definitely* report him, with samples if you've kept them. And the credit report check is an excellent idea!
silleylimeWell, I am afraid I would have to inform the FBI, since that's a federal offense! Your postman is NOT ready your mail?! Is he/she?!
chachabooThat is too creepy! Yes, I would report him because it is a federal offense. That is just too weird!
kitkatGet a PO Box? I like Ryan's idea though...LOL

If you're asking because you're writing something, definitely go with one of the creative answers. :-)
kitkatOOH, OOH! Plant a small, espionage-type camera inside, right below the flap of the envelope (of the mail you're sending yourself), so that when the mailman opens it -- you'll have a picture to prove it!
lilyofthevalleyI think the lady that works in our post office reads everyones mail...She's also my neighbor, it's lovely :)
susie^Yeah, thats why she knows whats going on with everybody and everything!

Quite A Sight 08-27-08 09:34am EST
Part of my routine every morning is raising and opening the blinds in the living room so that Moo and Isis can sit in the window sill and try to catch the bugs that tantalize them from the other side of the glass. This morning when I opened the blind on the left window I saw one of the most beautiful and delicate things I have ever seen-a complete circular spider web, with water droplets clinging to every strand. It was perfect, and amazing, and just that much better because the spider was nowhere in sight! What a beautiful creation, from the mind of our wonderful Creator! I tried to photograph it, but I am not sure if it was even visible. If so, I'll post the pictures.

I finally have an interview! I am applying for the front desk position at an alternative healthcare clinic. The ad in the paper said the company prefers you to have 10 arms and 8 legs. They must be very busy! The hours seem right, and I think I can learn to do the work quickly (I've never been a receptionist before), so maybe this is the job I have been hoping to get. Please pray for me, and for the right thing (God's will) to happen.

Thank you for all of the "Happy Anniversary's". I appreciated each one :-) just like I appreciate each of you.

***UPDATE***

The possible job was a definite "No". I didn't feel right attempting to get a position that would cause me to miss at least half of Wednesday Bible class every week. I say that I would attempt to get it because there were almost 50 people there vying for the same position. Craziness!
mreid72Happy Anniversary, and good luck with the interview!
lilgagurlI hope the job is one you will enjoy and that the interview goes well!
emeleelTry holding a piece of dark paper behind it to photograph it.
emeleelAnd best of luck on the job interview!
karenbaizePraying that the interview goes well. Sounds like a great opportunity!
kitkatso what's alternative healthcare? as opposed to...normal....healthcare?
mmmcoffeei prefer spider webs outside the window and not in my hair or face. ick. congrats on the interview!
whitneyHope your interview goes well. I've always thought a reception job could be fun.
adam_mFortune cookie reading IS a very important excersise!
gallatinrealtorHAHA...I thought about that when I typed it. (and this is an Adam addition not Malone family! well now it is)
adam_mThanks for the well wishes! It is exciting and nerve racking and anxiety causing all at the same time!
jojophotoGood girl! You will find the right job, don't worry!!

donnajoI ♥ the beach. Especially in fall--no "naked" people there! One year I plan on spending Thanksgiving in Fort Morgan on the beach. That's my dream--renting a big ol' house right on the beach and have a couple other families come along.

Happy birthday AND Happy anniversary! Love you!
