I am in Florida. I flew in Monday for Allee's appointment. I'm staying through Friday to help her pack. She is going to stay home and not return after Thanksgiving. Too much health stuff. She has been a REAL trooper thus far. She has given it her best and had already decided to not return next semester. At this point, just not returning after Thanksgiving is better. We are to see a vascular surgeon on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I am so thankful. Our news from the 11 vials of blood testing they drew last month so far are:
1. Factor V Leiden positive
2. Lupus Anticoagulant Protein Positive - Mild
I am still researching all these things entail and more blood tests are still pending. She is having a MRV next week. Right now we are just adapting and planning. Our doctor here in Tampa/St. Petersburg is going to finish out the diagnostic process we began when Allee came here in August. She has helped locate a doctor who is in her same sub-specialty in Birmingham at UAB so that is great too.
I am encouraged by all that is going on. God has provided for us so much and continues to do so.
Well, I'm off to tend to more things....have a wonderful evening of worship tonight.
I know you'll be glad to have her home but what a trooper she's been with her health and away from mom! Mom is teaching at Hayden through Wallace on Mon and Tues nights for Math if she is interested in math classes. Love you guys!
Aunt J ~ I'm glad you can be down in FL with Allee & help get her things ready. She must be so appreciative of you & others. God is working out a plan for your girl! Continue sticking to it :) This is a situation that is making ALL of you stronger. Can't wait until you BOTH come home. Love you!
We had a wonderful singing at services last night. It was just so encouraging and uplifting. WOW!!! I was overwhelmed listening and singing and thinking "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and then "It Is Well With My Soul." I've really been thinking about the song about all of self and none of thee and then ends up none of self and all of thee. I WANT to be that. I really do. Have you ever noticed about yourself as I have been trying to notice about myself how many things are about "me"? It is very humbling. I can't wait to stand at the throne of God and sing, sing, sing praises to Him for all eternity. {{{{Chill Bumps}}}}
What a great football weekend!!!!!! LSU was tough but we pulled through. I know, I know...FOOTBALL???? I can't help it...I'm born and bred a ROLL TIDE GIRL :) Football in the south and Alabama especially is like breathing :)
Next Monday I am heading to Tampa for more doctor visits with Allee. I'm going to stay through Friday to take care of everything. My first flight wasn't so good, a little motion sick and such. My second flight was better because I sat back further and wasn't RIGHT UP in front of the cabin...I sat more towards the wing. I'm hoping for a good flight to Tampa Monday and back to Birmingham Friday. I am looking forward to seeing both Ashleigh and Allee and worshipping at Henderson on Wednesday.
Aimee is out of school today and tomorrow. She is having a great time wtih Kaylin. Wednesday is busy with friends and then Thursday and Friday I'll be helping my mom clean blinds and such for the Thanksgiving dinner. I am so blessed to have my mom and be able to spend time with her. Which reminds me....I'll turn the BIG 4-0 next week....WOO HOO!!!! It doesn't bother me at all. It is humbling to think that I'm 'middle aged' now :) - hahahaha!!! That sounds so w-e-i-r-d!!!!!
What are your plans for this week?
Have a great week and do something kind for someone each day this week and see how joyful giving is ;)
Aunt J - You Rock! Thanks for being such a great example to me. You living your life with your family helps me to see that there is hope for a happy future and with the help of you & your homeschool teaching, it all seems possible. We will miss you when you are in Florida next week!! You, Allee, Ashleigh, Aimee P, and Uncle B will be in my prayers. Love you! Kaylin
I love singings, too. And just think, someday we'll all be together in the LORD's presence, singing as we worship Him forever (and our voices will never wear out). :D
Have a safe trip to FLA! Even though it's more southern that Alabama...we known who the real country people are..cough..Uncle Bennie...Cough..Uncle Barry...Cough*.. Paw-Paw...hehehe :0) love you so much!!
So I wanted to make a shorter post since the other one was so long. I really try to not post such long posts but BAM...there they are.
So what are you doing this weekend. No big plans here. Just hanging out. Trying to get over severe allergies/cold. And of course watching the Alabama vs. LSU game...RTR :)
Have you noticed how beautiful the leaves are....absolutely gorgeous.
Has anyone noticed a lot more big spiders outside with the change of follage? I mean huge-o honkin' ones in these massive webs just all over the outside between trees and next to the house, etc. I see them when I take our little Beaudreaux (malty-poo) out to do his business. I find myself checking and looking where I walk so I don't walk into one of them. I am NOT a spider girl. Especially since my husband caught a wolf-spider last year with her babies on her and brought her home for us to see....eewwww.....
Google a WOLF SPIDER if you get a chance.
Have a great weekend....
Oh....my two FC girls have had the PLAGUE as they call it. 2nd time in 2 weeks for them too. I'm sending good get well thoughts their way.
Love...
Jennifer
I heard today to STAY AWAY FROM FC!!! We don't really ever go there but I will be sure to NOT go there this week. Noelani's violin teacher's husband works at FC and today she told me that there were 90 excused students cause they were all sick. YUCK! Oh and there is nothing wrong with long posts. Sometimes we all just have alot to say!
Wow...that title says a lot ;)
Yes, the marching band season is over. I told Aimee that the next time she steps on the field she will be a junior in high school and closer to 17 than 16. BOY....that hits me in the gut. She is supposed to be 16 forever in my mind I guess. I better watch out or I will have a crying/emptier nest spell :) Seriously though, I am very happy for all she has accomplished and hopes to accomplish in the future. It does seem like time is flying more quickly these days. Which brings me to the 2nd part of my 'headline'. As Aimee and I were walking in WalMart today there was this huge, honkin' christmas tree right in the doorway/walkway. It is odd how we are having a fall festival/halloween party last Friday at someone's home and today...BAM....jingle bell rock and huge christmas trees. But this is one of my favorite times of year. I love the holidays. I asked Barry if we could put our tree up this past weekend and he said, "Not a day before thanksgiving!!" We'll see if I can work on that though.
On the Florida front...Ashleigh is doing good and so is Allison.
Ashleigh is working hard in her classes and is busy all the time. We don't get a lot of time to talk because of it. I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving when they come home. Ashleigh and I have been texting a good bit. Especially during the Alabama football games :) Which reminds me that she needs a new Alabama jersey....
Allison is working hard in her classes too. We talk a little bit more at times but it probably all works out the same in the end. We text a lot as well. She continues with her health issues. Nothing bad nothing good...just continuing. We should hear back from the vascular surgeon's office this week. I called her hematologists office last week to double check they had drawn enough blood on her last visit (10/23) because I was under the impression they needed more than 2 vials. And since it is cheaper for me to fly down for the day for the visit than drive and stay in a hotel I wanted to double check. Turns out the lab had misunderstood the request from the doctor. So Allee had to go back today for more bloodwork. They drew 11 (yes, ELEVEN) vials. I go back on 11/17 for most of the results. Which given all the new HIPA rules and such it was an ACT OF CONGRESS to find out about her visit, etc. Each person I talked to had to see her consent to talk to me about it form and it was just a hassle. All that being said, Allison, along with Barry and myself have decided that she will not return to FC next semester. She has had a lot to deal with the past few months and she is facing some possible procedures but aside from that her body and mind need some time to heal and rest. So she may go back next fall and she may not...we don't know. We'll just take it as it comes.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Please remember our family in your prayers. Please remember Ashleigh in your prayers too. She has been the 'protector' and caregiver for Allee when I haven't been able to and I know she will miss Allee next semester. She will get her AA degree in April and we are so happy for her. She is going to get her 4 year degree in elementary education. Which she can now do at FC so we will see.
Yes, C'mas is all over the place here as well. But, I do love this sesason. Thanks for sharing about how Allison is doing as well. Being "home" for the next semester will be good for both mom and daughter, I am sure! Prayers to you and your family!
