Halloween 2008 11-03-08 12:49am EST
I hope everyone had a fun Halloween! Thursday night Jonathan carved our big pumpkin and the boys wanted to help so we got their little pumpkins and sat them on the floor with a bunch of newspaper underneath them. We were going to let them clear out all of the seeds from their pumpkins. It was so funny. They had so much fun playing with their pumpkins, or should I say kins...that is what Ezra calls them. I don't know why he leaves the pump part out. They ended up getting way off of the newspaper and getting seeds all over the kitchen floor. They had them stuck to the bottom of their feet and allover their pants. We had to stop in the middle of everything and take them upstairs to give them a bath. You could see quite a few little seeds floating in the water. Hehe!!

Friday we dressed the boys up in their costumes and did a little trick or treating. We stopped first at Grandpa and Grandma's house. From there we went to my Grandma and Papaw's house, but when we got there the boys were asleep. So then we just drove over to my mom's and my grandparents came over there later with some Halloween treats for the boys. Aunt Tiffi and Uncle John also went to Mamaw's house to see Spiderman and the Hulk. It was a great Halloween...the boys stayed up until 11:30. The good thing was that they slept in until about 10:00 Saturday. That was so nice. That never happens.

Saturday we went to Target and Walmart. We got the boys their toddler beds, but unfortunately we have to exchange them because the wood has some cracks and chips in it. That is so aggrevating. I hate having to return things. We already have their cribs down and Jonathan had actually already put one of them together before we noticed the flaws. Oh well. At Target the boys, and by boys I mean all 3 of them, had fun trying out some of the toys, especially the little tricycle. Ezra did not want to leave it. We're thinking about getting those for the boys for their birthday. They are so cute and we already know that the boys love them. Then Saturday evening we got to visit a little while with Jonathan's brother, Jason. He was passing through the area on his way to a Gospel meeting in Linton. That was nice!

Today, well I guess it's yesterday now, there was a baby shower for a girl at church who is having a little girl. There are going to be 5 new babies born at church before the end of the year. 2 of the 5 were born earlier this morning. My friend had her twin baby boys this morning. Everyone is doing so well too. She carried them to 37 weeks. One of them was 6 lbs 7 oz and the other was a whopping 7 lbs and 9 oz. Isn't that amazing for twins? I am so happy for them. I can't wait to see them. We are hoping some time this week to visit them.

Oh and there was a good ending to the night too, because the COLT'S beat the Patriots!!!! YAY!!!!

Well I hope that everyone has a great week! Here's the pictures from our weekend...

cassie_barajasThank you for your comment. I finally posted some pictures along with a link to our family website. Your boys are growing so fast. They are sure cute. I will be coming to Indy very shortly. Rachel and I will be coming in on Dec 8th. Yea.
yoddlebopper32yea i really liked his lesson too! i always think about how lucky i am to have so many great people around but we always have God. I'm glad that you have jonathan i hope i can meet someone who can be my rock one day! its funny how my last post i was needing advice and i could always use it but that lesson really gave me chills. See ya throughout the week
dsh:)
rdockensWe would be happy with whatever the Lord gives :-) I figure the due date is at the end of the June. I did go to the doctor for another reason, but they wouldn't tell me anything (I am guessing because the appointment wasn't for pregnancy).
dshRandi, mother of the flower girl, got home Saturday and had her baby Sunday morning. Another girl! Campbell is the first name, but right now I don't remember the middle name.

New Pictures!! 10-28-08 11:27pm EST
I finally got some recent pictures to show everyone. They are all pictures from over the past month or so. The messy eating pictures were just taken earlier tonight at dinner. We had pizza and the boys went a little crazy. They were covered in pizza sauce. I'm not sure how much of it actually made it to their mouths.

Oh and the boys' pediatrician appointment last week went really well. They ended up getting just 2 shots. They got off to a bad start though. They screamed horrible just when they were getting weighed and measured let alone when the shots came. They got over everything pretty quickly though. The doctor was very pleased with their weight gain and their development. They are doing everything that they should be doing at this point, which is awesome!! They are such smart boys!!

I didn't get any really good pictures of the boys in their costumes over the weekend, but I definitely will get some on Friday. I'll be sure to post some then. Until then I hope you all enjoy looking at these pictures. They put a smile on my face everytime I look at them.

Hope everyone has had a good week so far. Mine has been a little on the stressful side. I could use a nice, relaxing weekend, but I doubt that will happen. There's always something to do or somewhere to go. I guess I should try and get some rest now by going to bed. It's getting late.

valorieSo cute! They're so funny. I don't think you'll ever have a dull moment with those two.
mommyx3Too cute!
valorieYes, so far so good. Thanks for asking. 'Tis the season, I guess.

Slacking on my Pleo updates! 10-22-08 10:47pm EST
Well once again it's been quite awhile since I've updated. I'm getting to be so bad about updating my pleo entries. I guess there just hasn't been too much to talk about. I do have so many pictures of the boys over the past month that I want to share with everybody, I just can't seem to find the time to get them on here. I'll definitely have to post some pictures after this weekend. We are dressing the boys up in their Halloween costumes this Saturday for a Halloween party that my family has every year. I am so excited for the boys to wear their costumes. They look so cute. Ezra picked out Spiderman and Isaac picked out the Incredible Hulk :) Isaac's costume cracks me up! Jonathan has joked about painting his face green but I don't think it's such a great idea. He would make a mess, smearing it all over the place. I told Jonathan that he could photoshop Isaac's face green in a pictures if he wanted to and if I know Jonathan like I think I do, he'll do just that :)

Oh...yesterday marked 8 years since Jonathan and I went out on our first date. I cannot believe that it has been that long. I don't think either one of us would have guessed that 8 years later we would be where we are today. I wonder where we will be in another 8 years.

Tomorrow is going to be a fun day...not really. The boys have a wellness check up at the pediatrician and they are due for immunizations. They also have to get their flu shot. It's going to be horrible. They are getting a lot stronger and harder to hold still during shots and I absolutely just hate listening to them cry when they are in pain. It breaks my heart :(

Well I guess that's all for now. Like I said I will try to post some pictures soon. I have so many cute ones to share with you all. I hope everyone has a great end to their week :) I'm ready for the weekend! Can you believe that November is just a week a way? That is crazy!! Where is the time going?
split_rockHope today isn't as horrible as you expect! Looking forward to pictures, but I can't imagine you finding time!
shel6yWe are going to need to see pictures of the boys in their costumes!! :)

I am anxious to see what Jonathan can do with the pictures!!! :)
kristasfa8 years!!! The same for me and Jay too...
kristasfa(well, not to the day!)
crysiI bet the costumes are cute, really glad you didn't decide to go with braveheart for both of the boys:) That's the first memory I have of meeting Jonathan.
rdockensYou must post pictures of the boys in their costumes. Has it really been 8 years? Wow! It doesn't seem that long since then? Well, I hope the boys did alright with their shots.
littlelambWe have to go in a couple of weeks for both the boys to get shots. I hate doing two kids at once, but Liam doesn't usually even cry for them.
snickers63LOVED getting to know you and your boys!!!
friedajI always hated shots, blood work and/or xrays (Just getting them to be still and knowing it won't hurt)
lovestheoceanHey..your boys are so cute..Heather is not on Pleonast but she does have a facebook account. She is not on the computer very much with her schedule. She is a nurse and still trying to work. She went to FC did you have any connections to FC. She is 24 weeks right now and doing fine. Nice to talk to you..Where do you live

Baby Shower & Trip to the Zoo 09-16-08 03:57pm EST
This past Sunday my mom and I hosted a baby shower for a girl at church that is expecting twin boys. I decided that I wanted to make the cake, which was fun, but it took a lot of time and work to get everything done. It was an accomplishment for me though. I don't make many cakes and this was also my first time using fondant. It turned out pretty well and everybody said it tasted really good so I am happy with that. Here's some pictures of the cake along with some other recent pics of the boys.

A few weeks ago we took the boys to the zoo for the first time. We had a great time! It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to do something new together as a family. The only bad part of the day was I got stung by a bee. It's been years since I have been stung by a bee and I had forgotten how much it hurts. It bothered me for quite a few days. Anyway...the boys' favorite part was the ocean exhibit. They loved watching the penguins and the polar bear swim. Ezra would point and say ooohhhh all the time. Well here's some pictures of our day at the zoo.

Well the boys should be waking up pretty soon so I better get off. Hopefully they are in good moods when they get up. I thought we could go to the park and meet Daddy for dinner due to him having to work late at the office. Jonathan just started a second job that is 20 hours a week on top of his fulltime job, so he has been putting in a lot of late hours lately. We try and spend as much time with him whenever we can. He is such a good provider for his family. I am so proud of him and all of the hard work that he puts in to support his family. He is a wonderful husband and father. We are blessed to have him :)

Hope everybody has a great rest of the week!

ilovepondsYour cake was beautiful! And does Ezra just love shoes, or what? All the pics are great!
littlelambThat cake is amazing! I've never ventured to try fondant- is it hard?
sweetisthesongThe boys look so grown up!!!
seainmeI love the spaghetti pictures!! There is nothing better than little boys and spaghetti. :) The cake was beautiful, it looked so professional! I could never do that. The zoo looks like fun. I am right there with the boys, I would be oohing over the ocean exhibit too. When we went to the aquarium, I just sat and stared at the big aquarium tanks forever. It's fascinating! :)
seainmeYeah, Taylor was pretty shaken up. When he got home after I picked him up, he went straight to his dad and hugged him and just sobbed for about 5 minutes. It was heartbreaking. He was pretty down on himself all day. He knew it was his fault and we told him it could happen to anybody, but also told him how important it was to keep his eyes on the road at all times. He's ok now though. Mom is doing "ok." She just got back from vacation, so that was good for her. She has been having lots of pain in her back. Not sure what that is all about. She had some tests to make sure it wasn't cancer, which it's not so that was good news. But she is just taking things day by day. :) I just wish it was more pain free for her. I wish there was something more I could do for her to take all of that away. Samuel has done really well so far with his asthma this season. I am thinking maybe the allergy shots have done the trick. Of course, we arn't really into winter yet, but with all the ragweed we have had and all the problems it has caused for everyone else, it hasn't caused him ANY problems with his asthma, so we are REALLY hoping that is a good sign. We are sure praying about it!! And hoping for a much better winter than last year!!
crysiHey this Crystal (Brad's wife). You remember you came to see me in the hospital over a year ago and I never called or saw you again. I'm on here now so I wrote in to say Hi. The boys are absolutly adorable, I can't believe how big they are.
crysiPretty good. How about you, I haven't heard from you guys in ages? We saw Steve and Donna back in June at our meeting and they said the boys were growing but Wow! Naarah is 15 months now, that's so hard to believe.
crysiYeah, We don't really know how serious it is and won't until he goes to a real doctor.
dshYou're welcome!
yoddlebopper32cute pics! how are you feeling? the zoo is always fun!!
dshSorry to hear about the colds. Hopefully they'll go away soon!

I can't WAIT to see them in those costumes!
dshPlease let us know how the eye appointment goes.
dshSorry the colds are so bad! :( Please give the boys a kiss and a hug from me.

Glad J's meeting went well and it sounds good about next year.
valorieMissed you Wednesday. I went to the adult class.
mimiYour boys are too cute. I love bathtub pictures.
crysiYour boys have colds too? I am so not ready for this season, I'm sure you're not either.
crysiYou ainta kiddin'. Hey how are your boys feeling? We thought Naarah just had a cold but she woke up last night with an asthma attack about 1:30. She's not doing much better and the doctor can't see her until tomorrow morning.
mimiWhat movie did you and Jonathan go to on Friday night? We saw the chi..... can't spell it - the movie with all the little dogs!! Hope you had a great date night!!
ekhollHunter wanted to take them ALL home. But alas...my car wasnt quite big enough :)
dshYes we can!
dshYou're welcome!
mimiOur movie was just OK - kids probably like it. It was really good to see you - you both looked so happy and excited to have the night out.
crysiyeah, Naarah has been doing breathing treatments as well. They started her back on the Pulicort, which I hate to do because it seems to burn her (not hot but sting) when I do it. She cries through the whole thing. She's very used to albuterol (however you spell it).
neeneeI heard the nurses talk about the NICU reunion. They really look forward to it. :) I heard that Mackenna is in the same Module your boys were in! I got to talk with Donna for just a couple of minutes one day.
carlislerosewow thats a very pretty cake looks like you did a good job. your kids are cute was one of them sick when Narrah was?

Update!! 08-11-08 12:52pm EST
Well I had an entry typed out and then lost it, so now this is going to be short and sweet. First of all...hello friends! It's been awhile...again. I don't have as much time to blog anymore. I seem to spend most of my time chasing after the boys...which is perfectly fine with me. They are keeping me in shape :)

The boys are going to be 19 months old on the 23rd of this month. It doesn't seem possible to me that they are that old. Last week we went to Portrait Innovations and got some pics taken of the boys in their UK outfits for their grandpa, who is a huge KY Wildcats fan. They turned out so well that we ended up getting a lot more than we planned on. I also added a cute picture of Isaac and Ezra eating chocolate pudding. Aren't their chocolate mustaches cute?

linda_gADORABLE!!!!!
mimiIt was great to see you Sunday - the boys are getting so big!!
littlelambThey are so cute!!! I can't believe they're (almost) 19 months!
mommyx3Such cuties!
split_rockAh, Angel. They're growing up on us!
abbymichelleso so cute!
bamyThose pictures are precious! Thank you for your prayers and encouragement! I have watched the slideshow that your husband made of Ezra and Isaac and it looks like a rough start, but what a blessing that they are both healthy now!
missyThose are so cute!! They have gotten so big!
seainmeI can't believe how much they have grown! They are really looking big boys now. No more baby faces. I love the basketball pictures. My son Samuel always had a basketball when he was little, so that brings back sweet memories. :)
ekhollThey look so grown up! Hunter's grandpa is a HUGE UK fan too so the pics made me smile :)
valorieThey grow so quickly, don't they?!? They are so cute. And, I'll take this opportunity to "brag" on how well they do in Bible class...again. I love those boys!
grannaThank you for sharing the pictures. The boys look so precious and happy. I still like the pictures at the park best! They are great.
kerifieldsricewe have a Portrait Innovations here in Columbia I love THEM!!!!!!
your boys are just to cute...they do grow so fast don't they.
cassie_barajasThey are cute but the Smiths and Hardins always wonder who is the "true" wildcats since my parents are Arizona fans.
friedajMy goodness, how they have grown. And they look so HEALTHY!
dshThank you!
ilovepondsThe story you shared with me is even more rude than my post/experience. It's amazing how people are these days. I find it easier for me to handle if I just let them be. That way my blood pressure doesn't feel like it's escalating!
yoddlebopper32no, i graduated this past year, im going to iupui hope your doing alright!
yoddlebopper32i plan on majoring in elementary ed. if that doesnt work out something with kids, cuz i love them. I wish isaac and ezra would get used to me because there so cute and have little personalities i can tell already :)
rdockensThanks for the "happy birthdays"; we had a great time. Time sure does fly; I cannot believe your boys are almost two! Orion has begun to back talk me (in his grunting language); have your boys begun the "terrible twos" yet?
kristasfathank you for your comment... I know it will be CHAOTIC... but I'm just so excited to meet them! And I don't blame that lady for getting out to the mall... I'm sure I'll be trying to get out to the park, etc... just to have a chage of scenery!
yoddlebopper32yea, i heard she wasnt a good live performer, but she did a good job, i like her too, and it was cute cuz after she got done performing she brought a 2 or 3 year old little girl up on the stage.
yoddlebopper32dont you hate when you erase your entries, especially the ones you spend so much time on
dshHope the shower went well. Was the weather ok? I saw on the internet that there was some wind.
dshHow was the cake???
