Well, it's not as impressive when you know the details...
We were camping on an island with a large group and the day we were scheduled to leave, it was too windy for the boats to transport us back, so we were stranded for a few hours until a larger boat was able to "rescue" us.
...finishing a chapter in a book just in time for music class, then hearing students complain that they'd rather keep reading.
...calling a stop to independent reading time to begin teacher-directed P.E. and hearing a couple students say, "But this book is SO good!"
...ditching a science lesson right before teaching it and teaching it another way, seeing students actively engaged and understanding the impromptu lesson, brainstorming solutions to a real-world problem, then gathering them all around the computer to see how real scientists solved the problem.
So after a crazy week of preplanning, Daniel and I are headed out for dinner with my mom and sister (dad's out of town) to celebrate my birthday. Daniel gets a call on the way there from his brother telling him that he needs to get over there...something urgent. I was worried and asked if I could come with him. Instead, Daniel drops me off at dinner and leaves. I apologize to mom and jen. After dinner they drop me off at the apartment (b/c dan had the car) and, long story SHORT, it was a surprise party! Mom and Jen were in on the whole thing!
My sweetie is so sweet! I am very proud of all of the effort he put into it! :) Wish you could've been there.
