I found out yesterday that I will be leaving for the desert in less than a month. For security reasons, I am not allowed to disclose the location of where I am going over there or the exact time frame, just that I will be leaving in less than a month and will be gone through April somewhere in the Middle East. Please pray for me and especially for Vanessa as we are apart. This came up very suddenly and Vanessa and I haven't been back together very long since our time apart when I was at Basic Training and Tech School.
according to your last post - you thought north carolina was hot... you'll enjoy that NC's hot next year when you get back. i love you & nessa, you're often in my prayers but for now know you will be in my prayers. play nice w/ the other children :)
For security reasons I will not disclose how often I will be on my knees, suffice it to say it will be often. :o) The One who will always know your exact location is our Rock, Strength and Refuge. He will guide your steps and guard Vanessa's heart until you are back in her arms. Boy, oh boy I do love you both and as I told her God loves you more. 'nuff said, for now.
Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear that you all will be apart for so long! We just found out that our nephew is also being sent to an "undisclosed" location as well. We'll be praying for your safe return.
I love you and Vanessa. You are and always will be in my prayers. I'm sure when you have 'mail call' (does that still exist?) something from her is what you will be looking forward to but I will try to surprise you now and then. I hope you will have internet connection from time to time so we can get updates. Love you. God will be with you.
So things are going great. I love our house (technically a condo), it is so cool. My job is going good and I really like it. I've been getting a lot more responsibility than the other airmen because I am showing them that I will work hard. We went to the Outer Banks a week ago from last Friday and it was so beautiful. We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time out there cause we didn't get there till late in the afternoon, but it was still a lot of fun with my parents. The ferry to the Outer Banks is only $10 a person and they take you out to the islands. They have an island that no one lives on, but there are about 130 wild horses that roam the island. They are descendants of horses brought over by the Spanish in the late 1700s and early 1800s and their ships crashed on the shoals. There are also several lighthouses to see out there. The ocean is so beautiful from the island we went to. The main commercialized beach that most people go to is a couple miles south of the island we went to, but the beach at the island we were at is gorgeous. That is where we are going to go anytime we go back to the Outer Banks, which we are doing the 16th. Vanessa and I are going out there for the day to relax on the beach. The beach is almost completely deserted because most people choose to go to the more commercialized beach, but we like the more "private" beach better. An interesting thing is that the shoal is only about 3-4 ft deep at the most and extends 10-12 miles out to sea...so you can walk 10-12 miles out into the ocean if you wanted. During the months of January to about March, whales migrate back north and pass by the Outer Banks. There are some channels that are deep enough for the whales that the ferries pass right by. They said they don't get much business during those months cause they aren't the tourist months, but they still run the ferries if people want to ride them. They said at times they've counted 50+ whales in 1 day pass through their channels. Vanessa and I are planning on making some trips out there to see the whales (especially since it is only an hour and half drive). Hope everything is going well with everyone else.
Thats sounds absolutely awesome!! I love the ocean! I'm so glad y'all found a special place to relax and enjoy each other! It would be a really neat place to read the Bible and sing praises, while surrounded by all the gorgeous things He created! :)
WooHoo for the beach...one of my favorite places. It is wonderful to hear that so many aspects of your life are great - home, job, vacation spot, visitors and especially that sweet wife of yours! Outer Banks sound interesting.
:( don't laugh at me, i struggled with that one and gave up knowin peep could figure out what i meant. i want to come and get some of that sand. i started collecting sand from places i go. i accidently got some va beach sand last spring when i was there and purposly brought sand back with me from the bahama's and key west. wish i would've gotten sand from the few other islands in the carribean i've been to, but didn't.
So it has been awhile since I've updated...and a lot has happened. Vanessa and I finally arrived at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC and we are now in a place of our own. We also finally got all our stuff last Monday...the last week has been busy getting everything set up. Vanessa has been doing most of the unpacking while I've been working and she is making our house soooo beautiful. We still have a fair amount of stuff to unpack and organize, but the kitchen and living room are complete (except for pics on the walls) and we have over half of our room done. We don't have hardly anything done in the guest room and we still have stuff to do in our room, but it is starting to come together. 4th of July wkend, heading up to see the parental units in Ohio. We are going camping at lake Gaston the last wkend of July as well. Hope everything is going well. Can't wait for August 30th!!!!! (anyone know why?)
Hi Chris! It's nice to finally be able to tell you and your Vanessa congratulations! Thanks for posting on my blog, and I hope you two have fun visiting Ohio and going camping! David and I are planning a little camping trip for July 4th! Take care!
So I am sitting here at the schoolhouse waiting for our graduation ceremony to start. We had to get here at 0730 hrs, but we aren't starting practice until 0800 hrs, so I decided to post a new blog. Basic Military Training (BMT) and Tech School have been long and I am ready to get back with my wife. My plane doesn't leave till Tuesday morning because I have to finish some outprocessing stuff on Monday, but I land in Norfolk, VA at 1700 hrs Tuesday. Next Sunday, the 18th, Vanessa and I are going to Williamsburg, VA for a week vacation before heading to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC on the 24th. I found out Wednesday that there is a 2 year wait for base housing at Seymour Johnson AFB, so we have begun apartment hunting off base. There are a few opening up, but not until the 2nd week of June, so for the first 2-3 wks, we are going to be living in temporary housing on base. Hopefully we can find a place that we both will like a lot and get moved in as soon as possible. I can't wait to move to NC. I received a sponsor packet (a packet of information about the base and that surrounding areas) from my sponsor at Seymour Johnson, and there are a lot of things to do in NC. There are a lot of outdoor activities, a lot of hiking and bike trails, the beach is only about an hour away, and there are about 10 Civil War battlesites within an hour's drive of the base. Goldsboro (the town that Seymour Johnson AFB is located in) is actually a battlesite itself with a big Confederate graveyard. I can't wait to drag her to all of them...lol. Hope everyone else is doing well.
Make sure to visit Busch Gardens...they offer free admission for the military and three dependants. See the website here: http://www.herosalute.com/cavatx/index.html
Seymour Johnson is where my dad was stationed! He and my mom said the town was a great place to live! My older brother was born on the base hospital! Hope y'all love it! Miss you guys!!!!

How about I catch it tonight. Tomorrow I will put a splint on it's little leg, box it up and send it to North Carolina! Lucky you, I do not have your new address yet! :o)
We (as in me and my wife) got our assignment today - Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC. We will be only 3 hours from Myrtle Beach. I am really excited to finally have an assignment. I can't wait to get done with Tech School and be back with Vanessa and move to North Carolina.
Yay! I'm glad to hear you finally know where you're going, I'm sure that gives you a peace of mind. And it sounds like a great location! Good luck w/ the rest of Tech School!
You have to tell the Jones', Kirklands, and Pierce's, Gann's, Lasater's, and Rains' hi for me!!!! I grew up with all of them. . .I love that group of people!!!!
