Did anyone catch this story in the mainstream media? Probably not, http://www.wthr.com/global/story.asp?s=9299280
Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd. The line was long and the crowd was angry at times. "I want my money today! It's my money. I want it right now!" yelled one former campaign worker... The large gathering of around 375 people prompted police to call in extra officers and set up temporary barricades. The barricades helped keep the crowd from spilling out onto Meridian Street... One campaigner said "They gave us $10 an hour. So we added it. I added up all the hours so it was supposed to be at least $120. All I get is $90," said Charles Martin.". Maybe he is not familiar with the concept of taxation?
Torri is being awsome and letting me go see Joe Satriani (http://www.satriani.com/2004/) play tonight. Ellwood is coming too and we are going to enjoy some great, instrumentalist, progressive, no-vocals, shady-free, alternative to the alternative, guitar rock!
My Mortgage is still unpaid and I had to fill up my own tank? I thought that Floridian Obama supporter said I did not need to worry about that? Guess I better get those checks in...
no,no. no worries. be patient. in january it will all happen. he'll wave his magic wand, click his ruby red shoes together three times... say an abbra cadabbra incantation... take his american flag pin off his lapel, burn a flag, hire jeremiah wright as a key member of his cabinet, put ayers in charge of the war on terror... and then *poof*! all mortgages will be paid. and cars will run on good-will and cheer. i can't wait.
Even with the sweep of the executive and legislative branch, I think many Dems will be dissapointed that there is no magic wand in the next 4 years. The only magic wand we have is the power to work, earn more, and spend less. Poof!

I took my three girls to the Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound today: http://www.flowermoundpumpkinpatch.com/. We had a blast but it was way overcrowded and Ava was too chicken to try anything :) Finally we got down to the business of picking a pumpkin. It was to be one at first... I did not get out till every family member HAD to have one of their own. Little did Tia understand that one large one with 4 micros were no big deal to me. Then, I had to carve each one! Tia and Ava pitched in and loved it. Can't find camera right now but the Milton Pumpkin Family is out on the front porch.
we cheated this year and didn't actually carve ours. we used those plastic, mr.potato head type parts to decorate with. did your girls do the hay mazes? my boys do it over and over again.
how we've always done it is...soak the pumpkin seeds in water..preferably over night....then drain the water..coat the seeds with some oil and plenty of salt then bake them on a cookie sheet..i never really remember for how long or on what temp..but just until they are a little golden! sounds like ya'll had fun!! too cute.
the haunted houses i would recommend:
scareams in waxahachie - multiple haunted house all large size. they also have thing geared toward smaller childern as well. tickets are $22 with childern 5 & under free. speed pass is an extra $15. the main draw back it that the park can and will get crowded.
hangman's haunted house of horrors in ft. worth - one main haunted house with three small side attractions. tickets were $20 plus $10 speed pass for everything. other than the haunted house there wasn't much there.
cutting edge in ft worth - i have never been to this one, but it is supposed to be good. i don't know if you would want to take the girls with you though. the ticket are $26.50 adults, $22 10 & under, $10 speed pass plus tax.
I did something scarier on Thursday. I went to the LB Houston Trail (Northwest Highway & Luna) at 7:15pm and rode the trail all alone, in the dark, with a little helmet light. I got a little spooked and left after 2 miles. I then came home and watched Monster Quest's Giant Wild Hog episode that filmed in Texas. Scary. Maybe that is what I heard in the woods last night. Either that or a crazy homeless person.
You may have read my earlier tiger story. Channel 5 said that the tiger was caught and is now in a wildlife refuge in Wise County. Meanwhile, more police have been added to take up the slack of the Tiger's determent of looting or breaking curfew on the island.
i have been looking at bike and i can get a schwinn mountain bike for around $300. it might not be until around the frist of the year, but i'm going to try and get one something. now all you need to do is get a kayak.
not much. the one that i have driven has been an xterra. the only complant that i had was head room. the only thing i can tell is to look at the price and fuel economy and take a test drive.
sorry i'm not of much help.
