1. I have a twin sister and my Mom has a twin sister too.
2. I had to learn how to ride a bike twice...when I was 5 I learned, then I broke my arm and forgot, and I had to learn how to ride my bike all over again. Weird, I know.
3. I was born in Indiana, but moved to Colorado before I turned one.
4. I grew up in a small town...we only had one traffic light for a long time, now I think there's five.
5. I am dreadfully afraid of spiders.
6. My little brother was adopted.
7. I have fallen off a chairlift before at a ski area, don’t worry, I didn’t get hurt…just stuck in really deep snow.
8. I love to read, have any book suggestions?
Well, here's the chairlift story that lots of you are wondering about:
I was riding up the lift with my friend and it had been snowing so the seats were kind of slippery. We were almost to the top and about to get off. We put the safety bar up and started scooting forward and I just slipped right off. I fell about 10 feet into the roped off snow where no one skis and my friend didn't even realize I had fallen (neither did the chairlift operator). So I was just laying there in deep snow trying to get out. I finally had to take off my skis and crawl out of the roped off area, it took about 5 minutes. I think my sister skied down to help, but I remember being really embarrassed because everyone riding up the chairlift could see me. Luckily I fell in the fresh snow and didn't get hurt...it was pretty funny though.
I actually didn't know #1 and I am pretty impressed with #7...I am terrified the whole time I am on a lift that I will fall off. So many things I didn't know about you.
Well, I decided to pick up a new hobby...scrapbooking :)
I printed out a bunch of pictures and went to Jo-Ann Fabrics last night and bought lots of fun supplies. And, as some of you know, I have a great place to scrapbook at my mother-in-law's house. She has a great craft room and we both have our own chairs and little stations to work at :) Hopefully I'll get lots done and get to spend some quality time with her!
I'm going to try to stay motivated and get everything done that I want to because I know it's easy to loose momentum.
Other than that, I'm excited for Christmas to come because Bret and I are driving up to Colorado!! I can't wait! Most of my family will be there and Bret will get to have a real White Christmas! I can't wait to see my bro and sis-in-law especially since they will be bringing their whole family (including my nephew and soon to be niece...due this November)!
One of my favorite things to do is scrapbooking!! You're right, though, if you lose momentum than it's hard to keep up with it all. Sounds like you guys have an exciting Christmas coming up, too! :)
I'm working on a scrapbook for Jacob (it's hard to find time, though). I was at your MIL's today for Bible study and I love her craft room!! Scrapbooking is much more fun with two! That's awesome...I'm glad you will see your family at Christmas. :)
I love that room! I am so glad you and Kath will be doing this together. You will have a blast! Do these things while you can, after children, all my hobbies (except reading and puzzles) ground to a halt! Christmas in Colorado... that will be beautiful. Take a vehicle with good traction, though. :) Bret won't know how to drive (tee hee).
I love making scrapbooks...I am in the process of starting one for this past summer in Wyoming. Good luck with yours--I'm sure you'll have a blast and it will turn out great!
I know you guys will have a blast at Christmas time:) We always miss gettin a white Christmas since we moved here;) I want to see your scrapbook when you are done! I'm still working on Alaynas, but it's coming along real cute!
Well, I've been staying busy the past couple of months.
In June:
* Bret and I had our 1-year anniversary!
* We also went on vacation with Bret's family and Paul and Amy White to Hawaii. It was amazing, probably the best vacation I've been on.
July:
* My parents and little brother came to visit me! My dad stayed for a long weekend and my mom stayed the whole week while my brother Nate went to Texas camp! It was great spending time with them.
* I also started going to a great chiropractor who's going to get me all lined up and hopefully help my migraines go away!
And August is going good so far!
You posted! yay! I can't believe yall have been married a year! Congrats :) I bet Hawaii was amazing!! And I hope your migraines get better. I hope this is the solution for you!
Lately I have been looking for something to brighten up my desk at work. I thought about getting a plant, but couldn't find one that I liked.
Then, the other day I was in Wal-Mart and decided to get a fish! I bought a betta, he's very cute. He's red and blue with some spots on his face, is very active, and swims around in his bowl all day.
I bought him on a Friday night and couldn't decide on a name all weekend, then Monday morning my boss jokingly named him "Sushi" and it kind of stuck.
So now little Sushi is in his bowl on my desk and keeps me entertained throughout the day!
So sushi HAD to be something that jimmy said...right? That is really funny. Why didn't I think of a fish while I was working there?? Such a great idea! I hope he makes your desk more exciting:)
I saw some of Bret's pictures on facebook from your trip. How fun and beautiful!! Hope you guys had a wonderful time. And, happy (belated) 1st anniversary!
