It starts tomorrow. They said it would probably only last 1 day. I sure hope so. Has anyone else served on a jury before??? momster I have always gotten out of it because of being self-employed. You will have to let us know how it goes...enjoy...I think it could be interesting.  mattdevore I got picked once when I was a full-time student and unable to serve. I've been wanting to do it for a few years now. I think it would be very interesting.  derbydi Bruce did it and enjoyed it, but that's Bruce! Good luck!  amylou No ... I have never been "picked" but I did have to be on "stand by" for federal jury duty once. I had to call EVERY Sunday night for like 6 weeks to see if I had to "show up" ... Good luck to YOU!!  sarahsmile I've always wanted to, but I was told once that I'd never get picked because I am a psychologist and they don't like to have psychologist as jury members.  monk i've been served three times. i got out of the first one because i was still nursing one of the kids, the second one because i was homeschooling, and i was just served the third time and got out of this one because i have no transportation to the courthouse. i don't think they would choose me anyway, because i believe in the death penalty.  pettymama I was picked. But I was pregnant with Brenna and was able to get out of it.  turtle_girl She's referring to Jill Eskra. I don't know if you know her because they recently joined our congregation. She is due in January, I think, a few weeks after me...  mommie_dearest I served on a murder trial and was picked because I did believe in the death penalty. I found it to be very interesting.  login to comment hide comments Monday 06-04-07 09:19am CST What a weekend!! Saturday was the funeral of one of our members. Arden Lawrence. He used to preach for the congregation here. He will be missed. Sunday, we had a luncheon for the graduates. It was nice. Today, Isaac went to Boy Scout Day camp. He was very excited. I will be anxious to see him tonight. I received in the mail a summons for jury duty today!! I am not looking forward to it at all!! This is not what I want to be doing today!! I have so many other things that I need to be doing. Anyhoo!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. What are your plans for the week??? matidwell Gotta love that civic duty. :-) I've never been summonsed, but now that I said that...  derbydi I was summonsed last Dec. Couldn't do it b/c of our trip to LA. Postponed it till school was out, and now can't do it b/c of my broken leg. I've always wanted to be on a jury. I have been practicing "Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!" for ages. The weather is perfect!  login to comment hide comments We're home 06-01-07 06:39pm CST We made it back home!! It was a looooonnnnggg day! We left at 5:30 and got into town at 4:30. I ran to the groecery store and that is all I have done. I am getting ready to go crash in my chair. I think we are so tired because we have been on the go all week. We had such a great week! It was so uplifting!! We got to spend time with people we hardly get to and that was awesome!! We were asked to come back next yr! How could we decline! The brethren there are doing so good! Talk to everyone later! seainme I am counting the days till next time already! I loved every second we got to spend together, you are such a good friend to me!! :) I missed you the second you left. :(  seainme Yes, but I didn't go. My ear has flared up and it's really windy.
