For anyone in the Birmingham area who might be interested, there will be a singing Friday night, November 7 at 7 pm at McCay Avenue CoC, Oneonta, Alabama. We are a small congregation and would be so encouraged to have any visitors come! |

I live in one of the only dry counties in Alabama. For those of you who may not know what that means...no alcohol sales. On November 4th there will be a referendum so we can vote on whether the county stay dry or go wet. Of course, I will be voting to stay dry. But here's the thing that just gets on my last nerve...why is it that whenever there is anything that has to do with some vice (a/k/a SIN) such as drinking or gambling they have to tie it to the school children? Every referendum concerning the legalization of gambling or sales of alcohol drags the kids in by using the excuse that these things will generate income to be used in the schools. I do believe this is a big bunch of BALONEY!!! Every other county in the state that has alcohol and/or gambling still has money issues in their schools! UGH! I just hate it!!!! They need to leave the kids out of their sordid campaigns! |

So American Airlines has installed WiFi on their planes so that passengers can access the internet while in flight. The flight attendants have expressed concern that some passengers may access pornography leading to problems on flights and have requested that American Airlines install filters. American Airlines has denied that request stating that they are sure passengers will use good judgment....hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Aren't some of these passengers the same ones that drink themselves senseless before boarding then fight with anyone who dares confront them? They are SURE they will use good judgment? I'm dying here! |

I caught Slaten playing with the telephone, so I took it from him and hung it up. A little while later a sheriff's deputy showed up at my door...the little stinker had managed to dial 911. Life is going to be an adventure with this one! LOL |

I haven't posted in a long time and after reading Charlene's comment on my last post, I realized that indeed my latest blogs have been filled with heavy news. So even though I have plenty of trials affecting me right now, I refuse to post anything negative! Today was a beautiful day and I got to spend it with my favorite people...my family and God's people. I hope everyone else had a wonderful day as well.
Slaten is growing so fast. It's hard to believe he will be 1 in just a few short weeks! No walking yet, but he's trying to pull himself up without holding on to anything. I think it's only a matter of time before he's all over the place...oh wait, he's already all over the place! He's got that one legged, one kneed crawl down pat. He spied himself from a distance in the mirrored glass of the nursery window at church this evening and was waving at himself and saying, Hey! Hey! He loves to tell everyone hey and give them a big wave. He's a friendly guy...just like his Honey.
I hope y'all have a fabulous week! Each day is a gift from God so let's treat them that way!
Hugs,
Cindy |
