EEEEKKKKKK! 10-30-08 08:33pm CST
Just in time for Halloween...

It is truly amazing how a roach can affect me! Allow me to back up...I knew that working for Rentway and in all those bug-ridden houses would have lasting effects, however this is a little ridiculous!

Monday I fell asleep a little before Adam got home. I woke up to the vision of a HUGE roach crawling across the ceiling! I promptly called Adam to see if he was close enough to get rid of it. He was only a couple of min away, so I watched the roach crawl all over the ceiling and the wall. Of course, as I heard Adam letting himself in, the roach quickly scurried behind the dresser. :(

I have been very wary the past few days, expecting to see it lurking around every corner (or over my head on the ceiling somewhere). Tonight I go in the bathroom and what do I see over the door?! Roach ALERT!! Still HUGE!! I think it was about 2.5 inches long. I went and got 2 fly swatters, knocked it down, and killed it...

By the time, this sequence of events was over, I was on the verge of hyper-ventilating (which I have NEVER done before!), and nearly crying by the time I got it dead enough to throw it outside (I was afraid it would come back to life.) However, I was very proud of myself...I really didn't think I would be able to do it!

All of this, over something that was basically the size of my big toe!
queenofcleanAnd having a mouse under the sink didn't rock you? I don't understand how people choose their battles.
queenofcleandid you see maryann and jimmy's pictures of new born girls? she's in my friends list.
this_old_manBENGAL ROACH SPRAY! Keeps killing for months. :)
ceoltoir"afraid it would come back to life." Ha ha ha! Hyperventilating, crying, I can so relate to this. That's one of the reasons gave us husbands. Good job conquering!
elizabethkI hate roaches also. We have had a couple of incidents with roaches/palmetto bugs. I HATE them. One morning I came across one that must have been related to the one you killed; it was about 2 inches long. I had to kill it myself, cause Jason was at work already. It took every ounce of courage I had and then some. I hate the feeling and the noise it makes when you squosh (sp?) them. They are just nasty. Glad you found the courage to get rid of it!
julieannsmomThis is why i have a contract with a bug company to come and spray every 3 months. Roaches make me crazy. If I see one in between sprays, I call them to come out and do a quick spray. They think I'm nuts, but I don't care. We've lived here since the first of August, and I've had the house sprayed 3 times....Overkill? I don't think so.
emmybearthats pretty bsd crystal....lol i thought you were tough!
blesuIf ever I have a confrontation (and that is what it is) with a Roach, it is a long BATTLE. I have to take deep breaths, use a very long device that puts distance between me and the Roach, and I squeel, scream and shutter. Thanks goodness I have a BRAVE man in my house that shutters also but will be my Knight in Shining Armour.
ekhollperhaps you should

Pickles and Ice Cream? 09-25-08 09:06pm CST
I am MUCH older now...and I have a few gray hairs to prove it! My birthday was yesterday and as one of my gifts I got to go to the OB and have our 20 week ultrasound! That was TONS of fun! NO, we didn't find out the gender. We did get to see our "little one" though! He/she is quite precious! One of the first things the tech said was "Who has the big feet?!" The baby's feet are already 2 inches long and he/she weighs 13 oz! He/she also had the hiccups, which were funny to observe. The doc said all is well!

Adam took me to Maggiano's for a tasty late afternoon meal! He gave me a picture frame for our first baby picture! He also is taking me to Denver the second weekend of October for a "babymoon"!!! I am extremely excited about that! It will be nice to get to spend that much time with Adam, even if we don't get to do much else.

Till next time...

mritchie47Please tell me you aren't actually craving pickles and ice cream! Daniel is already afraid I might end up being one of THOSE moms...
norriejSo, you're not gonna find out?!?! Glad you're doing well!!
jesspicoHappy belated bday!! Sounds like it was mahvelous:)
queenofcleanWe know what size shoe you wear. Since they don't suck air, you wonder where the hiccups come from. Hope it's not a gassy hint of the baby.
juliehudsounds like so much fun! Have a great BABYMOON!
penny4yourthoughtscongrats on the birthday! oh, and i don't think gray hairs prove anything (i was going white at 16...maybe they're a sign of stress rather than age?). hope you enjoy your trip with your guy. :)
frogkisserLet me know how Denver is. We don't live -too- far (several hours, actually) from there and maybe we'd like to visit there sometime...
blesuAhhh, Babymoon??? That sounds so sweet. I'll have to remind Jonathan of that whenever we plan on a second baby. :>)
denisemccaskillThanks...Glad you liked them! They are quite popular already!! They are $15...
denisemccaskilli posted some new pictures in the same blog...Please take a look!
praguerGlad all is well. I'm growing grey hair as if it were a cash crop, so don't feel bad!
elizabethkHappy belated bday! I am just getting started on here so I've got a lot of catching up to do!
elizabethkCONGRATS also!!!
elizabethkYes its me!!!!
elizabethkI won't post now. But sometime this weekend. What is your email? That might be easier!
sweettBaby...ahhh, so fun. I'm glad everything's going well with it!! Maggiano's is also great!! I went there for my birthday this year too, and it was WONDERFUL!!!
ekhollI know its only your favorite because you love the pillow. Its so your style and all.
elizabethkI'll get something to you in the next couple of days. :)
ekhollHer cousin's baby or something. Somebody down for the wedding. I didnt know anyone. I was just there for the party.
beep_girlHey! How are you? How's the pregnancy going? When is your due date? Are you finding out the gender? Well, we are excited for you guys!
beep_girlRegarding the mashed potatoes, they're not AS good as fresh ones but if you allow them to thaw out on the refrigerator a day or two before serving and perk them up by adding a little more milk and butter, they're almost as good. :) I freeze mine in containers.
amyrea23Well their is the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Of course there is always the mountains. Going to the small towns and looking at the shops.
amyrea23Estes Park is very pretty. Yes we do go the same congretation. Will you be there?
amyrea23It will be awesome to see you. I hope you make it.
happinessisthelordaww, sounds like things are great! are you all still in Franklin?

Happy Thursday! 09-11-08 07:33pm CST
Busy, Busy, Busy...That would be the life of Adam and I right now...though more so Adam than me.

Adam started working at Chick Fil A once again (3rd time is the charm I suppose!) about a month or so ago. He is working about 20 hours a week at night and on Saturdays. This is IN ADDITION to his regular 50 hour a week "real" job!
I am absolutely amazed that he is able to do it! I am really thankful and proud of my man! He is working really hard right now so that I can stay home when our little one arrives. I am still working 40 hours per week during the day, so we don't see each other much. On the other hand, this has made us much more grateful for the time we do get to spend together.

On a related note, baby is still doing well. Must be growing, because my belly sure is! I am at the VERY annoying stage where my regular clothes no longer fit, but the maternity ones are still too big. Next appointment is Sept 24 for the 20 week ultrasound.

I learned how to crochet earlier this week. I am really excited about it and the possibility to make our baby a blanket! I am just not very talented in a crafty sort of way, so when I learn something new I get really excited!

Life is good!

denisemccaskillWow...you guys are busy!! Good job with the crocheting! I'm working on learning that myself..If you get a minute check out my blog it has the crafts I'm making to sell at a craft show. Ornaments, and stuff I've knitted! Hope things continue to go well for you guys :)..
julieannsmomI really hope you decide to find out what you're having. The suspense is killing me!
candesmamathat reminds me, I have some stuff i need to give you.
penny4yourthoughtsi love to crochet! one day, i'll have to teach you to quilt. :)
queenofcleanYea for busy. And yea for life is good. We love the entertainment center. Got the glass replaced today.
queenofcleanyou should send me a picture to my email of that stuff you got today
queenofcleanStill gotta a lot of time. We'll get it all together. How was the sing?
beejayLove this post. You sound great! Glad things are going well.
emmybearhurray for crochet!
blesuWOW! I'm really proud of Adam for working so diligently. Just proves he will be a great dad and provider.
sandraangeI love to crochet too..mostly baby blankets...square things! :)
frogkisserSounds exciting. I'm sure you guys are exhausted, but it will be worth it.
jenjamI remember the stage where your clothes just don't fit...I just felt fat! haha. Soon enough you'll be looking really cute in those maternity clothes, I'm sure.
Are ya'll going to find out the sex of the baby on the 24th?

OB Appt 07-28-08 07:18pm CST
I had my second OB appointment this afternoon. All is well! We were able to hear the heartbeat, which was really cool! (He couldn't come cuz he needed to catch up on the work he missed last week.) Another exciting thing...even though my belly has definitely expanded I have LOST 2 lbs! At the end of last week only one pair of pants that I had taken to OK actually fit me :)

Afterwards, we went browsing at Joann's and decided that we are going to make the crib bedding. It will be cheaper, better made, and much more personal. I am really excited about that!

Much love to you all!
girl_hustedPictures!!! please. :)
queenofcleanShe thought the heart beat was cool, I teared up. So sweet and really real.
gallatinrealtorguess I need glasses..I thought 104 seemed short
samngloriaHey!! Well, we actually might be moving!! About 20 min. closer to the building. We're going to start painting next week! I want to see you though!! Do you want to come down or us come up?
beckdobbinsAwww, I can't imagine hearing the heartbeat
julieannsmomWe had our ultrasound and heard the heartbeat on the same day! I really want you to have your baby first though, so Cindi can come and see me when I have mine! But I know you don't have much control over that! I am so excited to have someone I know at the exact same stage I'm at. I can't believe you lost weight! I'm puking and gaining weight, although I'm pretty sure most of it is in my bra at this point. Well, and maybe my rear a little too! Missed you guys last week.
praguerSo glad all is going well. Watching a child grow is truly amazing! Good luck on the bedding. Do you sew?
mestesHaving a little one is an amazing experience treasure each of these steps.
queenofcleanTalked to g'ma tonight and all is a go on our sewing plan. She has the pattern we want. Give you more details later.
penny4yourthoughtsmaking the bedding sounds like fun! i actually have patterns/fabric picked out for mine...not that i'm expecting or thinking about that any time soon...but when it comes, i'm ready!
s_laughterI'm very excited for you! Congratulations!
blesuI debated whether or not to buy or sew. I ended up making my own and it meant so much more to me than anything that I could buy.
queenofcleanGotta get together.
queenofcleanthis coming or the next? we have company this coming. they'll be here around 5 pm saturday. we finished up our meeting tonight. really enjoyed the lessons. he spoke mon. thru tonite about marriage and family. you might have felt like "been there already heard that". all the same was good. the calverts will be here for the friday night wedding. e and h are spending the night here tomarrow. too many people over there. talk to you tomarrow.
queenofcleanbtw...did you know that tomarrow is really spelled tomorrow? i look things up on occasion.
queenofcleanoh and the tomatos will be ripe next weekend. have lots of cukes, beans peppers and squash.
queenofcleanAre you being sarcastic or are you yelling at me? Either way you're not going to top me. Talk tomorrow.
queenofcleanThere was a wounded puppy in my backyard yesterday. Looks like a full blooded (sp) chawawa. She isn't hurt bad. Looks like something chewed her back legs a bit. She's real sweet and appears to have been house trained. Needs a bath. Had to have been dumped. Poor little thing. E has someone in mind though. Melinda wanted to take her back to Fl, but D didn't like the idea. Otherwise she goes to the pound.
penny4yourthoughtsyep, i love my job! it truly is a cool place to work. :)
samngloriaHey! You all can come whenever! We may be moving sometime, butdin't really know. How you feeling?
candesmamaI'd like to come see you one Saturday. Be thinking of an available time.
happinessisthelordoh wow! so happy for the way God is blessing you! take care and stay healthy!!! :)
