We took the little man to the zoo today, and he honestly wore himself out just watching the world go by. I'm not sure that he actually saw many animals for looking at the people, plants and scenery. We had a great time. He had such a good time that he went to bed at 6:30! We'll see if he gets up any tonight. I can't believe that he will be 10 months old soon. His first Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthday are just around the corner!
We love going to the zoo! alagators are my fav. Thurs night I dove to Nac & got Reagan's room all unpacked. Fri a good friend drove over. We got the contact paper layed & the kitchen unpacked & orignized. Sat we did the bathrooms. Sat afternoon Mrs. T & Mom decorated. The only thing left to decorate is our bedroom.
I'll call you next week & we can talk about flight times & date.
Fun things are coming to ya!!! It just gets better and better although you miss the days that have flown past. When we took Lydia she called everything a meow meow i think she was like 1 1/2--lol. What things we have to be thankful this year, connor and good days for Josh, and a gracious loving Lord--what more is there? Blessings to you all. How is your dinner done meals going?
She's not really. It's like a guest appearance or something. Your better off waiting for Frosty the snowman to sing a jolly tunr on your doorstep in august.
Trips to the oncologist (chemo doctor) are not usually a fun experience. This is not the fault of the amazing nurses and doctors; it is just the fact that NO ONE wants to be there. Except for my son. As soon as we walk in, he starts to make eye contact with each and every person in the waiting room. He will stare them down and then cheer and clap when they finally look up at him. Since we tend to be in the waiting room for a considerable amount of time, he successfully registers a response from almost everyone there. This resembles a somewhat unorganized "wave" of clapping, laughing and cheering cancer patients and their significant others! Not something that happens there very often. The other thing about this place that Connor loves is the nurses. He stares at the door that they come out of eagerly awaiting the cuddling, kissing parade of ladies that I'm sure he thinks are there just to see him. We have decided that it is our responsibility to take him to chemo as often as possible, partly because he enjoys it so much and also because he spreads a little joy in a place that really could use it.
Little dude is a rock star there. He gets more attention than I do and I am the one with cancer - of course he is way cuter and easier to pick up and kiss.
It's funny how some one so small can change the atomsphere of a room! I got a tickled at myself tonight. I took out some cotton for my ears tomorrow, something our daddy's did when they took us to the concerts. :o) I'm getting old!
I think I saved them for awhile in the attic in a box. Then I think mom eventually through them out. The only things I told her to save were the two Barbie dolls and one book. I reallly wished I'd told her to save the tapes.
Good post. You are so right about babies spreading joy. I'm sure your family is a light to others in that situation on any given day. Hang in there. There will come a day when this is easier. Until then, God will continue to shine through you and Josh and Connor.
I'll call you lazy more often if it'll get you to comment! :o) I thought Josh would look just dandy in that bracelet too!
Since I've been sick this week and laid up on the couch I've read 5 books. I'm NOT slow and steady. I'm speedy! Don't tell anyone but Jay's been reading them too. Well, he's listening to the Twilight audiobook (same diff) and is really liking it.
Dinner was good, as always. However, when you pulled the chicken out of the oven, it didn't have a layer of golden crispy fried goodness, and there was no yellow tasty sauce to pour on top. Maybe that’s why it didn’t seem right.
AJ, this is Lauren Bassford - I don't know if you remember me from when I was at FC in classes with Josh. Anyway, we got the sweet note and the even sweeter bracelet that y'all sent for us. I meant to send a thank you note, but the envelope with your return address got thrown away in the shuffle. :) It means so much to us, though, that y'all are thinking of us and praying for us. I will treasure that bracelet forever. :)
My husband has spoken and it is my dutiful responsiblitly to obey. Consider my blog updated...
Okay, just kidding. I realize that the idea is to post regularly, and I always enjoy getting on when I do. Connor will be nine months old on the seventeenth of this month! He now has a tooth, although it is very hard to see. It is not, however, hard to feel. No more sticking my finger in his mouth to appease him! Mid terms are this week, and the students are beginning to feel the heat grade-wise. Everyone gets much more concerned about their progress around the middle of the semester. I guess that is better than waiting until finals to get concerned. I am teaching Methods for Teaching Elementary Mathematics this semester, and I can honestly say that it is one of the most enjoyable classes that I have ever taught. It is much more work that any other class too. This group of students is working so hard to earn their degrees and I say a little prayer for them every night that they will keep up the good work. I don't think that many people know just how hard Education majors have to work to become teachers. My hat is off to them.
"dutiful responsiblitly"!! Are you being sarcastic? :) So you teach physics huh? The Physics Dept here at Auburn is male dominated. Do you have a pocket protector and fast draw calculator holder? :)
Jenna went nuts on the teeth and now has 6! She looks crazy funny. Congrats to Connor on tooth number 1. I always hoped for my kids to stay gummy, but they all tried to overachieve and look old fast.
1. I use my son as an excuse to watch The Muppet Show regularly.
2. I have a degree in Mathematics, but I majored in Physics.
3. My in-laws took my on a two week trip to Ireland where I insisted that I was not Irish only to find out when I got home that I am. Josh thinks that I should mention that he was not invited on this trip!
4. I teach at Florida College along with many of my former professors.
5. My favorite food is fajitas (Tex-Mex style).
6. I love Sci-Fi.
7. I read a lot of fantasy books (but not since I had a baby).
8. I have been married for nine amazing years to my best friend, Nacmacfeegle, aka Josh Hastings.
Yeap, it was Monteray's. It's not there anymore. There is one on 290 and Mangum. As for Nac, there are 3 McDonald's, 1 Sonic, 1 Subway, and 1 Chick-fil-a being built.... Exciting?
Look sweeheart - the idea is to update occassionally so we can keep up with each other. I know you have to work and all but really is your life that busy that you can't blog once in a while. Now get busy.
As any friend of mine is aware, I am TERRIBLE at keeping in touch with those that I love. I have several very well thought out excuses for this, but I will spare you. Despite this fatal friendship flaw, I have friends that refuse to let me sabotage our relationship and consistently demonstrate to me that communicating once in awhile is a healthy and enjoyable way of keeping in touch. I have been thinking about this lately because Josh came home talking about one of my best friends from Texas. You see, he has kept up with them on pleonast, and I have not spoken to them in months (about how often I have updated or checked my blog as well). This has inspired me to try harder. I called my friend from Texas. I have updated my blog. No more excuses (at this time).
By the way, Connor is crawling! Once I figure out how to put a video on this thing, you can see him in action.
It's good to have a hubby that keeps you in check! And, of course friends who love you and your flaws. ;o) Still need to know your fav color. I'll e-mail you Helmut's address, I think I have his e-mail address too but I not sure.
The best of friends are the most understanding ones-- and also if you can pick up the phone and talk like you have not missed a beat that is the best!!!! We all have flaws so don't be too hard on yourself, you have alot on your plate. Crawling is the first to freedom for him, you will find him in the funniest of places.
Yeah, but...you're a lot busier than some of your friends (at least this one). I've got time to think to call you. You...not so much time for thinking these days. :)
