Sorry it has taking so long to update. Mom is doing alright, she is still in quite a bit of pain. The doctor told her that there would be an 85% chance the surgery would be a success and the other 15% well, that it wouldn't take. Mom said that she feels like she is falling into the 15% catagory. She hasn't ever been in so much pain as she was for this replacement. The other day when a nurse had to turn her on her side to adjust the sheets, she felt a crunch. I know that sounds gross, sorry about that. I asked her if she told her doctor about that and she said that she hasn't seen him. I will be calling her today at lunch to here more.
On other news. My sister just found out that her job will end on March 4. She is having a hard time as she isn't sure where to start looking for jobs as she and mom want to be close to Andrew and I. We are still unsure about where we are going. Hopefully we will know something by the end of the month. With the way the economy is going financially, who knows what will happen. So please keep Andrew, Dawn and Mom in your prayers.
Nope, they were having a soccer tournament that weekend and wouldn't let us use the building :( Mom and Dad found another place, though. I vote for Dallas so we can all end up near each other :)
Mom is now in the rehab facility. She no longer needs to be hooked up to the O2. She is still in a lot of pain and is very uncomfortable. She feels a little better being in the facility because it is more homey. When I spoke with her yesterday, she sounded pretty good, a little mixed up at times and tired, but okay. I will try and get more details out to you later.
Mom is still in the hospital. Right now her oxygen level is a little low so she is on an oxygen tube. To my sister she is still really whoosy and has a lot of pain right now.
Dawn was there for a little while and she usually falls asleep in the middle of a sentense. To here she is just not ready to leave the hospital yet.
Received a message from mom that she will be going to a rehab facility. She sounded good on the phone. It is the same place that she went to for her neck surgery, so things will be familiar to her.
Update:
Spoke to mom this afternoon, she ended up staying in the hospital another day as she wasn't feeling good. She told me that she slept all day yesterday and all day today. She is hoping to feel better tomorrow so she can be transferred to the facility. I only spoke with her for a few minutes as she was really groggy sounding. She probably won't even remember our conversation today. Please keep her in your contunued thoughts and prayers.
thanks for updating often - I don't comment every time but I do read every time. I'm glad things went well and hope she's feeling well enough to move into her "new digs" tomorrow :)
