Newsflash, It Is Monday.. 10-06-08 10:32am EST
how profound, eh?
Yesterday was a beautiful day. Autumn is about to be in full color here in the Miami Valley, Ohio area. Mark and I went to Ben and Stacey's for lunch yesterday. Days are always 'best' when you spend them with family and friends. The grandgirls are always entertaining. After lunch Willow received a phone call from her BFF who moved to Texas this year. It is very entertaining listening to a 5 year old have a conversations with her best friend. I will not disclose the details. It is bad enough that I was eavesdropping. Actually I was helping finish up the dishes and Willow plopped on the couch within earshot. Rosie just being 'herself' is a hoot.
Hope y'all are having a good start to autumn. Enjoy your Monday...
lefantstafi like your tree picture
whipsmileshame on you for evesdropping on a very important phone call. ;-)
sprmomthanks, friend!
bekkakids can be quite entertaining....
tommyswifeOh I eavesdrop too!
kellyawww... gNrIaEnCdEgSirls ~ looking forward to seeing ohio people next month. for now i'm excited about seeing AZ people this week!
kellyi typed it, not vuvu. read it.
doesanamedescribei think i might be seeing you in Jan :)
arsenalI've heard of that place, Miami of Ohio. Living 20 miles from Miami of Florida, I can't figure out why any Yankee would choose that name. BTW, I only go to Miami when I have to and I don't have to very often. Come to think of it I wouldn't mind if they moveed the entire city to Ohio then you all could have the real Miami, bums, slums and all.
ashfieldsHello...I read your entry on "Sweetness" in the Bring Up Boys Group. Your entry touched me. I lost my only brother last November. He was 18. Still so fresh on my mind. WOuld you care to talk with me about our losses? Sincerely, Ashley Fields
grannyI'm still giggling :-) -- My husband was reared in New Richmond, Ohio, so I've been introduced to the Miami and your beautiful countryside. And enjoyed reading up on your Miami Indian history. (According to husband, Ohio will always beat an Arizona desert (where I grew up).

WHY YOUR MOVIE TICKET MATTERS 10-02-08 02:51pm EST

I received the following email about the movie "An American Carol" which is in theaters tomorrow. I plan on going...

The courageous conservative comedy from David Zucker opens in theaters nationwide this weekend. Everyone is watching to see what happens. Hollywood. The media. The Left. Yes, even Michael Moore.
Will the pro-American, pro-military, and pro-faith movie AN AMERICAN CAROL beat Bill Maher's anti-Christian movie RELIGULOUS or Oliver Stone's anti-conservative movie W.?

Only you and I have the ability to answer that. Why? Because our decision whether or not to buy a ticket to AN AMERICAN CAROL will determine the outcome. If we show up to the theater this weekend for AN AMERICAN CAROL then more conservative movies with conservative actors will be made. If we stay home, well, then more movies by Oliver Stone and Bill Maher will be at our local theater. It's that simple. If you love America, support her men and women in uniform, and want to join like-minded friends at the theater for a ton of laughs ...
Then buy a ticket for AN AMERICAN CAROL...And laugh like your country depends on it.

If PG-13 is not on your list of doable then I can highly recomend you spend your $$$ and see 'Fireproof'.

Mark and Me in a Couple Years... 10-01-08 04:23pm EST
A couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember. Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.
"Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?" he asks.
"Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?"
"Sure."
"Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember?" she asks.
"No, I can remember it."
"Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so you don't forget?"
He says, "I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries."
"I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?" she asks.
Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!" Then he toddles into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment and asks,
"Where's my toast?"
whipsmileoh dear... :-)
bekka:) ha ha ha!!
tommyswifeBacon and Eggs sound good! On a cold day like this I think they sound better than ice cream. :) Too funny.
ashleybwhat a cute story!! it made me smile..and giggle!
71lespaulcustomNo problem! It didn't bother me, plus I'm not thin-skinned!
justgLOVED THIS!
kellywhat do you mean 'mark and me in a COUPLE YEARS'?!?!? :) who are you kidding that story was from yesterday wasn't it?
suebearMy dad tells this joke all the time.
the_momlololol I love it! I can see that happening so well!
arsenalNo outline, Mike tried the sermon out on his home congregation before going to FC. I heard it then and ordered the tape of the lecture from FC.
arsenalIt is not change I'm pushing. It is examination. I believe many brethren do things because that is the way it has always been done and what they have always heard preached. One verse makes law regardless of what other verses one the same subject may say or further explain.
create_a_waythis is really funny! And ditto on the movies! Heather and I saw Fireproof the same night Ben saw it. Amazing! I think I cried for the entire last 5-10 minutes of the movie.
create_a_wayAnd thank you for your kind words on my blog. You are very sweet. I hope I get to meet you someday. I LOVED getting to know Ben at the retreat! I had him and Willow sitting at my table. He really is quite a guy. His kind and gentle spirit is VERY obvious!!! You must be very proud of how he has grown.
indiansgothedistanceVeyr cute! I feel like thats already Andrew and I when we go to the grocery store together we can never rememeber what we needed. Its nuts. Very funny though
pattylouI'm not even 50 yet and I can relate to that. (sigh) But it's still funny!
red_captain_jessiI know! Things can change very quickly around here!
doesanamedescribeHave you seen fireproof?
indiansgothedistanceYeah andrew and I are walking alittle funny today from football.

cmayYou're so funny! :-)
doesanamedescribethanks!
nickkrumreiI like the sounds of your chickens. (description) I will have to check them out for next summer. Every other year get a new color of chicken and retire those 2 years old as they won't lay much after that. (advice given to me by an old timer) What is Mark up to these days?
grannyI needed that laugh!

An Email That is Circulating 09-27-08 11:20am EST
TO ALL MY FRIENDS,Conservative or Liberal . . . FYI only.

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years.
The first six the economy was fine. A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'!
So, in 2006 they voted in a Democrate Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right.
In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION $$$ and prices are still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~ ~

$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS,
INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT! ....

REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.

AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!!

JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

and on that happy note have a wonderful weekend! :o)
truthmeSo very very true.
Every time Osama starts chanting CHANGE.... I always wonder... "Change to what?"
madam_librarianThank you!
justgLOL...happy? not so much! Thank you for reminding the peeps that we don't elect a KING with sovereign powers, we have a checks and balance system, and guess what??? you are right! senate and the house. where it all happens, or in this case...doesn't happen.
chapwomanIt's nice to meet you. I am Terri. Did you go to FC or anyone in your family?
nickkrumreiTell it again!!! You are so right. "W" does upset me with the "economic stimulus checks" I would much rather have the taxes cut.
arsenalThis is a predude to what will happen in an Obama Presidency. There is one difference, under Obama it will be worse.
millychloeHello! Yes, It's Jon and Barb's daughter! Nice to meet you!
millychloeWhat laws did congress pass that caused this? I had thought these problems were caused by the deregulations of Bush when he first entered office. (cut funding on monitering, lowered interest rates allowing banks to loan to one another, the amount of principle a bank has to have to give out the loan, etc. We are just seeing the effects of it a few years later. And all the other things like gas is an issue president Carter address a long time ago, looking for alternative fuels, but nobody did anything about it. Especially Bush. Anyway, not to cause problems, I just don't see how these issues were because of congress.
millychloeAlso, Bush is allowed to veto bills that the congress tries to pass as long as the majority is less than 60%, which it is less than 60% democrat.
