The Sweetest Thing.... 11-19-08 06:50pm CST
ONE of the sweetest at least, is when you look over and realize that your 2 1/2 year old who has been bustling around the living room babbling to herself, is actually folding towels and stacking them as best she can on the end table!

EDIT: These were towels that I had only partially folded earlier today. When I noticed her folding, I had been writing an e-mail. She was doing it all by herself, un-prompted.

sam_eduOur Emma sure is a sweet girl! :)
stamberingOne smart Garza, two smart Garzas, three smart Garzas, Four....the Garzas are smart people and they are all adored!

Like parents like daughter!:)
prov3110That's so cool!
spike427what a sweet helper!!
onelittlecandleVery sweet!
onelittlecandleYou are teaching her well, methinks. :)
marmeeShe's a smart one, she is! She's doing her 'quality time' thing, I'd say! :)
sar:)
schmidtkinsThat is priceless
lizzbethHow neat! :)
haleybelleHow cute!!
scrappyhappymamaWhat a sweet helper. :)
kristindoulaAw, I had that same experience when I was pregnant with #4 and #3 was about 2½...I came in here for a few minutes and then went back to the living room, where I fold laundry. There was a stack of washcloths and hand towels very neatly folded...I had to stop and think for a second..."Did I fold those and just forgot???" because they were so *perfect*! ;-) Nope...she did it! And she still love to help me fold laundry, at 5½. :-)
ex_patMy daughter loved to help me fold and put away clothes. She was cute when she ran back and said "I fooled you. I put your stuff in Dad's drawer and his stuff in yours." 2 year olds! Enjoy!!

Did I Miss Something? 11-12-08 11:59pm CST
Tonight I discovered two scratches on my arm...one about 5 inches long, the other maybe 3 or 4 inches. They seem recent because they are red and sore. Of course I only noticed that I had them because while DH and I were watching a movie tonight, my arm kept rubbing against my knee (I sit with my legs curled up), and I realized something hurt. Strange thing is, I have no recollection of getting said scratches. Maybe I'm going nuts. How can you forget getting a 5-inch long scratch on your arm?!

Maybe motherhood really does delete brain cells.

Ever find a mysterious scrape or bruise you can't remember getting?
stamberingYep, great big bruise on my arm once, couldn't remember why!
onelittlecandleYup, big bruies and look like they really ought to have hurt when I got them, but can't for the life of me remember when or how.
onelittlecandle*bruises
leteneleI get bruised all the time. Now I just ignore them :)
laurchelALL the time ... bruises usually. But I am very prone to bump into things, so I guess I'm just so used to it I don't realize I've hurt myself until later when I notice the huge bruise on my elbow :)
laurar209I did that once -- cut a huge 3-inch gash on my forehead and never noticed it until mom saw it and panicked. Then I picked at the scab (I was 8) and now have faint scar. Moral of the story? don't pick your scratches!
lonetteFrequently - especially with bruises.
scrappyhappymamaAll the time. :/
marmeeI have lots of bruises, too. Scratches sometimes, as well. Guess it's good we can't remember ... just say "ouch, ouch, ouch," right? :)
lizzbethYes, I find unexplained bruises on me all the time! :)
haleybellehmmmmm....
nillabarrBaby's fingernails!
ryanandnancyAll the time! I get bruised easily, so Ryan is always asking me how I got such and sucn bruise, and I vaguely remember running into something, but it always seems unexplainable!
pokyribbleYep, all the time! But then, I work with animals, so it's hard NOT to get injured.
dhudginsYour family was missed at the group meeting today, hope you feel better soon.

Home Again 11-10-08 02:21pm CST
Home again as of last night. Had a GREAT trip!

Today is catch-up day. Grocery shopping, numerous loads of laundry, and some housecleaning. I always forget how much there is to do after a trip!

Dinner is at Mom and Dad Garza's tonight, so thankfully cooking is not on my shoulders tonight!

In other news, it's been raining pretty much all day. I really really want to curl up and take a nap right now, but alas -- aerobics is calling.

Have a great afternoon!
leteneleit was snowing here this morning. Enjoy the rain!
spike427my day has included laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping, too!
marmeeI'm catching up on things, too, but luckily my "home" is too full up to clean! ;)

I really should be working... 10-28-08 12:52pm CST
but instead I'm feeling sleepy and sitting here getting updated on everybody else's lives. I guess there is value in that. One daughter went down for a nap about 45 min. ago, and the other is just waking up, so looks like I'm going to have to get off the computer now.

Have a super afternoon!

P.S. It's feeling more like fall here! We actually had to turn the heater on last night! Whoohoo! I love cool weather.

P.S.S. On a side note, it's so funny how you can get so acclimated to a certain plate. For example, when we lived in New York when I was a kid, the winters were so cold and lasted so long, that when it hit 60 degrees outside, we were like, "It's swimming weather!!"

But in Texas, when it hits 60 is when you get your jacket out because for the rest of the year you were sweating through the 90's!

Weird.
heatheronthehillI'm feeling sleepy and lazy here too! We've got a nasty rainy/snowy mix going on outside and it just feels like napping weather. I probably need to get some chores done though.
sam_eduwait...it's 60 degrees outside!?!? Oh man, and I forgot to bring my parka.
sharonI probably would have lit a fire this morning if I hadn't know it wouldn't jump back up to 70 this afternoon.
leteneleI think so too :) But I'm trying not to rush into anything this time.
spike427i have had a few "belly shots" up! there are a couple in my galleries. :)
schmidtkinsI agree about the weather feeling cold... only here, it starts to feel cold in the low seventies!
laughing_eyesLOL. true
ex_patIn Houston u get the jacket out because it maybe yhe only time you wear it.
ryanandnancyI know its crazy! Growing up in north GA we got our shorts out when it got to 60! :) Now I'm anxious to get my sweaters out when it gets there! :)
texasladyI love the southern weather. :)
