Well I think I will attribute this entry to my wife Beth…..(pause for a moment) On Sept 7th. Beth and I will have been married 23 years. I also want to offer a special thanks to the people you see in the photo I have included. Why do I offer a special thanks to them? They are the ones that helped me remember the right date of my anniversary. For years I kept thinking it was the 5th. The next year would come around and I would say to myself. Let’s see, I know it’s the 5th or the 7th, I think I had it wrong last year, so it must be the 5th. The same thought several years in a row. I know it’s rather pathetic, but that was my dilemma. Then one year while it was in the back of my mind and I was either watching the Holy Grail, or thinking about it. It came to me. Remember the Hand grenade scene ? When the hand grenade scriptures were being read, and he was saying that you have to count to 3, and 3 is the number thou shall count, and do not continue to 4, AND - - 5 IS RIGHT OUT ! ! !
From that day forward I have remembered that we were married on the 7th……because “5 Is Right Out”
Thank you, thank you Monty Python…… I’m not saying they saved my marriage, but it sure made my life just a little better. So again BETH, this tribute is to you. I love you and I’m so happy you said YES, and I DO. And just to prove it, I’m going to take you to Red Lobster on the 8th.
By the by, my parents actually did get married on the fifth of September. Exactly two days before you got married. My dad says you must have gotten married on a Saturday.
I'm glad you ate a biscuit for me and I'm glad you enjoyed the 157 shrimp! Their coconut shrimp is usually delicious. Oh well...I'm sure the biscuits made up for that!
Hope you 2 enjoyed a special anniversary together!
well, of course ill be expexting corn cassarole and green bean cassarole. :) ...but maybe beths AMAZING chicken tenders with homemade honey mustard sauce sometime during the duration of my break... :)
Things don't always go as you plan them. The person that was buying part of my property seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. I suppose that means he lost interest. The guy that was buying my bike/game shop decided to open a gaming shop just down the road from me. He was just sure he would take all my customers. He didn't realize first of all that my customers were loyal to me, and secondly that I have more than one trick in my bag of tricks. The last two days I don't think he had more than one customer, and that was himself.
I have now taken my shop and opened a third business in it. Now besides Gabbard Cycle & Sport, and Jeff's Comics, I have introduced Black Tie Technology. It is a computer repair, and computer gaming outlet. Besides full computer repair, we offer daily WiFi rental, in shop online computer rental, and online X-Box 360 gaming. It looks like a hit. We are busy with customers, and we haven't even advertised yet.
I also had a very good bible study with one of the techs, and I hope more will come of that. So, for the moment it looks like we will be here for a while. Ben and Noah will start classes at the community college this fall. Noah has also shown he is going to be a big asset to the computer business.
We have just gotten a second foster child, and it looks like he will be with us for a good long time. I hope that we can be a very good influence in his life. He just turned 16 and has been in DSS custody most of his life. He has been from one group home or foster home to another many times. Shortly after arriving here he told Beth he would like to be a part of this family. We'll just have to see how things progress.
Well that's it for my little book. I have not written in a long time, so I thought it might be good to update a little.
Sorry things didn't work out the way you planned them too, but these things have a way of working themselves out! Whatever is supposed to happen willl happen and it sounds like things might be better in that neck of the woods right now anyway.
OHLA Papi Jeff!!!!!! I am so glad to hear that you guys aren't moving yet cause Tricia and I need to come back down there to visit soon. Plus I need to bring you some new parts of a computer so maybe you could use some scraps?! Lightening came in on it 3months ago, so I ended up getting a whole brand new computer. The guy I got to try to fix the problem he plugged everything up to his computer it worked fine except for the mother board so he upgraded everything just in case and it still didn't work...so he returned all the stuff we bought off the internet and he's gonna give the old comp. as soon as I can pick it up so you guys can keep it for extra parts or whatever. No one up here fixes comp. on a perminent basis.
Miss you guys, hope to see you all soon.
Trust me I'm 69 and there is life after 50. And when you can stay out of the Dr's office it's pretty good. I was at the slumber party Friday and then went to a pot luck at 4:00 Sat. Your only as old as you feel you are. Think young.
The Police had a song called "Voices Inside My Head". As far as I can tell, those are the only words in the song unless you count the nonsensical sounds like "Sha!" that Sting makes throughout the song.
Yeah, that'd be great. I'll let the 'rents know you said hi. I'm sure I could hook you up with their email address, if you want them. Mom's on pleo, but she pretty much never checks it.
Well it finally happened. The skate park sold. It is finally gone. It is so nice not to have to be there, or make the kids be there to run the place. Now we can concentrate on other things. We might not even have to list the house on the market. We have a friend that wants to buy it from us. That would be wonderful. Now we need to unload lots and lots of STUFF.. We have already started selling furniture on Craigslist. One of the last things we have to do is sell the Bike shop. Now that I have added gaming and comics, it is actually making money. That should make it easier to sell. We are trying to figure out when we can make a trip to Indiana to look at the house and other business matters. For some reason, I like life when it is hustle and bustle like this. I like moving, I like new places and faces. Please pray that everything goes well. God's will be done.
I must admit, I am a little bit of a tree hugger ;) You should've seen some of the other pictures that she took. It looks like I was about to kiss the tree. LOL
ya it has been a while! well i did get a job at wild adventures as a operator. now the only thing on my mind is will they pay enough for bills. i have to get my own isurance, phone account, change drivers lic., change tag, switch banking and get into apartment before the first of july...oh boy!
OK OK - The 1845 house was just too delapidated, and old. Now we are looking at a new house, 1855. This one is in town. The town of Bainbridge Indiana...Population 743 YEEHAW ! ! We have someone looking at the skatepark...I think they are serious too. wahoo..(not too excited yet) I paid a small fortune for a few storage units at an auction. You have never seen more junk crammed into one area. Wow, I am ready for storage auctions north of these mountains. Well, that's my update - Ya'll come back now, Ya hea?
We have been talking about the idea of moving ourselves for sometime now. We at first were heavily considering Bowling Green Kentucky. (New Mexico has been in my mind for several years now. However; I think that it would be a bad choice for now with Beth and I having elderly parents) One of my best friends in the whole wide world has invited us to move to Indiana to be close to them. With other good friends in that area, and my kids giving the "thumbs up" Beth and I are considering that the top of the list. One thing is for sure. We are ready to move. Lord willing, if all goes well, we will be moving the summer of 2008. Beth has even found a house to consider. It is right up our alley. The realtor said it is not livable in the condition it is in now. JUST OUR KIND OF HOUSE !
(Built in 1845, coolio)
SHUT UP!! SHUT UP!! Oh, sorry.....I've been influenced by the drama teen. LOL!! Well, you might've had prayers but I think now Jim's & mine have been answered FIRST! :)
I'm a friend of hers and hers and have seen your notes about wanting to move to Indy. When we moved here from PA a few years ago, my friend said, "People MOVE to Indy, but people don't ever really seem to LEAVE Indy." By the looks of things lately here on pleo, those who HAVE left can't wait to get back! Best of luck in your endeavors to sell your skate park and make the Big Move. :)
