Today, I was listening to music the cheap way (YouTube) and thought I'd share a quick thought on Dylan. Whether you love or hate his sound, I think it's hard to argue he isn't one of the top 5-10 song writers of the 20th century.
a great songwriter. I agree his voiceisn't wonderful, but it is also hard to argue that he isn't one of the most influencial singer songwriters of the 20th century. just look at the number of his songs that has been covered multiple times.
Hey Daniel! Good old You Tube...and now you have an iphone to enjoy! At least vicariously through Emily. :) I have always enjoyed BD's voice and I'm gonna take it a step further by saying I also enjoy his son..even though I don't think they are around anymore.. Tell Cleo I said hello! :)
No, we've never really watched deal or no deal, we've seen it once or twice and didn't love it. How have you been and how are you liking being a pathologist?
Howdy, friend. I'm currently a Biology major considering going into General surgery, but I'm struggling a bit with all of the options available to me. She referred me to you to maybe ask some questions or be asked some questions about where I should/do stand going into medicine. Congrats on graduating :-)
One of the things I've been struggling with as a pre-med Christian is that I think I need a better overview stance of medicine in general. Is it tinkering with God's will to keep the elderly alive so long? Most of Jesus's miracles were to restore life instead of preserve it; what impact does that have on someone considering medicine?
Well, in a few months I will graduate and my wife and I will be moving from Shreveport, LA to Birmingham, AL to begin my residency training in pathology! There are things (mostly people) that I'll miss about Shreveport, but both my wife and I are extremely pleased about living in a beautiful part of the country and near Emily's family (like, possibly 3 miles down the road).
Take a few minutes to read a little bit about this exciting field of medicine! What is pathology?
That's great, Birmingham is a beautiful place. We're not far from AL, we're only an hour away from Athens, I don't know how close Birmingham and Athens are though. Congratulations on finding your field!
Glad to hear—but I had nothing to do with it. Amazon tells the printer about the order who prints it and mails it straight to you. If you hadn't told me you bought it, I wouldn't know until the end of the month when I got my online order report from the printer.
I've been a bit hesitant to update my blog for a couple of different reasons, one of which is I'm waiting until I'm done with a particular phase of my life so I can retrospectively summarize all that I've been doing over the past several months. However, all retrospection aside, the main reason I haven't updated is that I just love looking at that picture of my cat, Cleo. It isn't enough for me to just put it on my desktop background or be the only picture on my 80 GB photo iPod. I actually get some satisfaction out of happenstance that an innocent Pleonast browser will wander over to my blog and see my potentially Pulitzer prize-winning photograph (the idea of which my wife claims she formulated, but I'm not so sure).
Nonetheless, I have decided I'll be updating soon, when I store up the patience to write something out. Stay tuned.
The only other thing I've head attached to that has something to do with talking about Bible things with Bible words. But (as is obvious), I'm not sure of exactly how the cliche goes either.
Yep. I enjoyed it, but it's not one of my favorites. Then again, I think that I'm in the minority among Koontz fans in that regard (i.e., not among favorites). What did you think? Your first Koontz?
Watchers and Lightning are two of my favorites, although they're older books (mid-80s) and somewhat different from his more recent stuff. Intensity and Life Expectancy are a couple of his more recent books that I really enjoyed. Any of those four would be a good read.
Haha, that's funny:) That song was popular when I was in high school, it really doesn't seem like that long ago, does it? So, what are you wanting to do in the medical field?
