I haven't updated in a while about me, so I thought it was a good idea.
I am doing very well. The past few months I have really felt Satan's attempts to get me. But luckily with the help of friends and family here in Columbia and God, I have overcome some of those temptations. I know I have been growing spiritually, but I have also realized that I can't let my mind tell me I'm doing very well and I let my guard down, because that is when Satan strikes the hardest. The people I work with aren't helping me any. (of course) But I have learned by now to do my very best to ignore them and to not loose my focus. Thank You to all of you that have helped me. I think most of you know who you are. But not only those people, but also YOU. You may not know it, but I know all of you (that are probably reading this) and you have encouraged me. So, Thank You to you all. Especially my parents.
I have also learned to be content. I know God has a plan for me and everything will work out in his way and in his time. I just need to be patient and I know everything will work out just fine.
This past Saturday (Nov. 8) I went to my first MIZZOU football game. Although I sat in the student section and I went by myself. I had a Great time. The people I was sitting by were very nice and polite. I was in the 4th row, so I was only 3 rows behind where the guys were that had their shirts off.....which was absolutely crazy cuz it was like 30 degrees out there and then there was the wind chill. But by the end of the game most of those people had their shirts back on!! lol I knew 1 person that I saw there from high school, but it was still a Great game. Oh I almost forgot to mention we beat K-State.......42-24.....I don't remember exactly. lol And I didn't see any drunk people, well they didn't act drunk anyways. lol
M-I-Z......???
So how are you guys doing? I'd like to hear from ya. Sorry for not updating very often. Stay strong in the Lord and Never forget what your purpose is.
~Derek
Z-0-U! Glad you had a good time at the game. I was looking for you on tv. Stay strong little bro. Sometimes life is tough/boring/just not what you expected and if you learn to roll with it and stick with the people you know and trust, things are better.
That's half the battle when you can recognize Satan's attacks! He already has the world, so he spends all his time working on God's people (and he never takes a day off). But God has promised NEVER to let us be tempted beyond what we can bear, and that He will provide a way of escape, I Corinthians 10:13. :D
Derek we are very proud of you. I'm sorry that things have been difficult for you. You are in our prayers. And I just want to remind all young people that so many Christian young people are really disappointing frightening me in the dating & friendship area of life. I can't believe how many of them think they can date or be friends with these very worldly people and can "CHANGE" them. Sad concept and I don't understand why those who were raised in a godly home rebel. Then you have parents who think their chidrens physical life is more important and I wonder why the parents of these young people haven't done a better job teaching them what to look for in a mate & friends. And why so many of them can't look around them and see the pain and sadness in homes where people chose non Christians, those who don't even show an interest in God as mates. Yes some can be converted, but the majority are not. Derek you & young men like you are just what God describes as the spiritual leader of the home. I encourage all young men to continue to grow spiritually and soon the right person who has the same goals spiritually will meet you and feel so blessed to find what she has been looking for. And young women can chose to wait until they find a man who is will be a wonderful spiritual leader for their home. What all young people can do until then is encourage your friends to be more spiritual. Life is difficult enough without a spiritual mate or spiritual friends to help each other to be strong against the sins in this world. God bless and keep each of you in His care.
Hey. You are so encouraging to me, Derek. I'm glad you seem to be growing, that helps me to have strength to move on in this weary, sin-filled world. It sounds like you are doing pretty good. I hope to see you/ talk to you soon!
This is a video of a comedy routine I found on YouTube. I COULD NOT stop laughing. You have to listen to the WHOLE thing. lol My dad was watching it with me and he couldn't stop laughing either. We wear both starting to tear up from laughing so hard. haha So here ya go....enjoy!!
Dad installed a program into the router to block the nasty stuff on the internet, and YouTube is included. (For good reason.) It was goofing up a few minutes ago, so I was going to watch the things people had posted and I hadn't been able to see, but I only got to one before it started blocking them again. :P
Yes, I know that. But it's better to be safe this way. It can be a bit disappointing not to get to see the things people post, but I really don't mind having no temptation from that area anymore. :)

Sorry, for another deer video, but I saw this video and I had a HUGE flashback to when I hit the deer I hit. This is a Sheriff's car hitting a deer. This is exactly what it looked like....so you guys are going to see kinda what I saw in real life on that night. Now, I was not going as fast as this Sheriff was, but I was going about 65-70 mph when I hit it.
ok, time for an intervention . . . You use way too many exclamation points!! It's really annoying!! See!! See how bad it is!! Nobody likes it when you use all those exclamation points!!
Oh wow, I couldn't even watch the video. I was in the back seat when my sister hit a really big buck at 70mph. It broke my back in 3 places. I can just see a deer crossing sign and I have flash backs!
Watch this video and tell me your opinion!! I'm undecided!!
I think I figured it out. I think it was just a really dumb deer. See I think his gun's site's are off a lot to the left. So the deer gave him the chance to adjust and get 2 more shots. The deer then figured if he doesn't get me the third time, then he doesn't deserve me!! lol THAT'S IT!!!!!!! It has to be!!!
