Katie and I just finished up our own homemade version of "Blue's Clues". We hid three paw prints (that I made on the computer) around the house and tried to figure out what those three clues were trying to tell us. They were 1)blanket 2)pillow 3)pajamas. My very smart daughter put all her clues together in her "handy dandy notebook" and figured out that all together it meant it was time to get ready for bed. :) Fun mommy times!
That is so sweet! I made a handy dandy notebook for a child, many years ago, before you could buy them in the store. He was so excited that he could use it while he watched the show. That was back when the first guy was on... was it Steve back then?
What a day! With the cool fronts that have moved in and the wind blowing around, everyone in our house has been suffereing from allergies. Of course that's not fun, but to top it off we noticed a rash on Katie yesterday that looked even worse by this morning, so we took her into the doctor.
Luckily, the doctor said it was nothing serious or out of the ordinary, just a little virus that has to run its course. The pediatrician said that normally once the rash part shows up, the worst of it's over, so she should be good to go. We had ears, eyes, mouth and nose checked out while we were there, too and the doc said she could tell Katie is definitely suffering from allergies, but nothing worse.
Whew! If we can all get over the sneezing and coughing, then Thanksgiving will be super wonderful!! :)
awe, poor lil Katie!!! Well I'm glad she is okay and that it's just allergies, but blah...allergies stink too. My main thing that has been bothering me lately is my eyes!!! Whatever is in the air is really bothering them, making them itch, and sting!
thanks:) Dan and I got a chuckle on Wednesday when Michael announced that Ryan was home with "sick" kids. We both heard "six." Dan whispered to me, "Where have they been hiding the other kids?" :)
Ladies Retreat was such a success this year and I enjoyed spending time with everyone who came whether it was for the day, evening or the whole weekend. How fun to stay up and laugh and have deep discussions. It's now Tuesday and I still haven't caught up on all my sleep. :) Thank you to everyone who was able to come.
Also, thanks to my husband who was so wonderful to take care of the children this weekend and have them nicely dressed for church Sunday morning! I do have to say I was impressed! :)
Things around here are still exciting and busy! I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and getting to spend time with family and loved ones all over Texas! What does everyone else have planned for their Thanksgiving?
aaaaa! Congratulations -- I just now found out the good news! Where have I been... Thanks for the card. We were happy to use the house. I really enjoyed being with all of you as well! We have a contract, so as long as we make it through the 7 day option period, we're good to go!
Andrea's birthday is this wednesday and she is having a birhtday party next saturday and we are planning on doing a scavenger hunt. I was wondering if you still have a list of all the things yall looked for on the scavenger hunt that you did?
Not sure when we are heading down. Your pregnancy ticker is so cool...it's so neat to know what it going on with our new baby neice/nephew!! We are excited for you guys!! If you need anything or just need to get away without kiddos please let me know!!
Thanks for inviting me - I really enjoyed it! You stinker - I didn't know you were expecting! You're at the stage that is so tiring, and there you were with all that energy! What a woman!
These are pictures of my family when they were all 1 1/2 years old. Do you know who is who? :) I know it's not reallythat hard, but I can't believe how much my kids favor their dad at that age. Hope you are all having a good week. I'm ready for the weekend! :)
(oh p.s.- Ben is wearing the same exact outfit Ryan wore 30 years ago!)
Cutest tigers in the world! Ben was standing next to Chris last night, so I rubbed him on the head. When he looked at me, he grinned really big and then ran off! Hey, I've graduated from frowns to smiles :):):)
Cute pictures!! You have some cute kids and need to keep populating the world with them! Ha! Have fun this weekend, sorry I can't come. The girls are supposed to tell me all about it when they get back!
*** The following is an email I sent out, but I wanted to post it here, too, for any in pleo world who might be interested. :)**
Hello Ladies,
Well, the time has come upon us. Ladies Retreat weekend is now 1 1/2 weeks away. There are a couple of housekeeping things that need to be taken care of and organized so everyone can come and enjoy a laid back and relaxing weekend.
I do have a list of women who had orignally committed, but since the location and the amount have changed, I wanted to go ahead and get a final head count. For those who may not know, we will be having our retreat on Nov 7,8,9 at Todd & Kathy's old house and the cost is $10 per person to cover any supplies and cleaning that may need to be done. If you are interested please let me know. I will be collecting money between now and next weekend.
Also, we are organzing a food list for those coming. For those that will be there Friday night, we will have some take-and-bake pizzas. Tami and I will be in charge of bringing those. We'll have sandwhiches and chips for lunch Saturday, two breakfast (Sat & Sun) and for any who are staying over Saturday night, we will be planning a dinner out at a restaurant near the retreat house. I will have a list tonight until next Wednesday night for all that can sign up to bring something. Otherwise you can email me to sign up.
If any of you have questions or need any more information, please let me know. Remember, you are welcome to invite friends to the retreat. We look forward to a great, uplifting weekend.
okay so Rett showed me the video from SNL and I was crying watching it thinking about you guys!! Heather asked what was up w/ Chris's weird video so I showed her at my house tonight and she thought it was hilarious!!!
I'm looking forward to it. Just let me know what I need to bring & I'll plan on coming...I'm not sure if I will spend the night both nights yet, but I am still planning on coming :)
I thank you for asking, I can't come that weekend, other things are planned. Have a great time. We are hoping to ours together in February or March, we'll let you know. by the way, I made your dip, actually Chad helped make it. It made so much, my blender overheated! I had to throw it away!! The dip was good, we had it for Chad's birthday party!
Well I would love to, but I don't think it is going to work out. My brother Keith has the day off (which is very rare) so I think I'm going to go see him on Saturday. Thank you so much for the invite though!!! :)
I don't know if I have any pictures of me in my costume... I was an evil jester. The mask was so hot with me running around being a good host that I got rid of it quickly!
I don't watch it much, I just happened to remember that episode. One of the characters was in a movie by that name, but when she said it, no one could understand what she was saying, to they had no idea what the name of the movie was.
Mike Johnson is Papa Smurf... he is on my friends list but I don't know how to link (or more appropriately don't care to know how to). One of the best costumes of the night.
