A recent high school graduate of mine was mugged and shot at the University of Toledo last night. He is okay-- he was shot through the shoulder and hand. Tomorrow, doctors will be amputating his pinky -- I'm thankful that he is alive but I cannot stop imagining what could have come from this. Please pray for an easy recovery and the mental health of him and his friends (also former students of mine.)

UPDATE: The surgery went well and he was able to keep his finger. Thanks to those who kept him in their thoughts. |

Okay I don't like to push fundraising, but this is really easy and doesn't cost a dime. Basically, the band and students with rough financial situations benefit anytime you shop at Kroger. Please let me know if you are interested. There are other programs like this for other stores, too -- but this seems to work the best with the greatest amount of return.
Kroger Cards information
Here’s how they work:
The band purchases gift cards with $5 on them.
Anyone can buy them from our coordinator and reload them at any Kroger store using cash, checks, or credit cards.
Each time you put money on the card, Kroger credits the band 5% of that amount.
Half of that amount goes directly into an account set up to support students with need.
The gift cards can be used for anything at Kroger (groceries, gas, prescriptions, etc.)
You can purchase Kroger cards for family & friends to use anywhere in the country.
The card stays valid as long as it doesn't reach (and stay at) $0.00 for 90 days or more.
