The Election 11-04-08 11:18pm CST

Well the election is over and the results are in and we have change. The results are not favorable in my eyes. Both individuals have many questionable issues. Neither according to the scriptures were worthy candidates according to God.

Sadly many people we call Christians of the same non denominational faith in the Church of Christ voted and endorsed for said individual. It is hard to swallow that our Christian brethren would actually give their vote to said individual.

When you ask people about this they say "well we only voted because of certain issues". If you voted for an individual that for instance believes and supports abortion you also believe in it through your vote. One is known by their vote and support the individual for ALL their issues.

I have had plenty of time to think about many different things that go on throughout our society and here is what I have thought of recently. Can you imagine on the judgement day standing before God and God telling us "you voted and supported for an individual who wanted abortion who thought murder was okay, is this acceptable before God?" How can these individuals think that they are okay before God while supporting such sinful acts.

Again I do not support either individual for their actions and there issues they believe in. So let's salute to:

  1. Higher Taxes
  2. Legalizing Partial Abortion Again
  3. Legalizing Gay Marriages

    a. Also raising children in such a household

  4. Taking Away Jobs From America

I want to close with something I recently heard in a speech given by our future leader.

ARE YOU EXCITED TO LIVE IN SUCH A COUNTRY WHERE EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE?

DANIEL

Children 11-01-08 11:20am CST

I was reading Proverbs and I came across this verse and I really liked it.

Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it

Notice here the word should. How many timetoday people don't raise a child the way they should be raised.

They involve their children in so mnay different things that they should be around and should be involved with.

I don't know if you saw this commercial on TV but this is what i am thinking grant it is a sister and brother. A little boy has a burning ash that constantly appears on his hands and body. Everywhere he goes it happens. Finally it is all brought together. He witnesses the sister getting ready to smoke pot. Does this child need to be involved with this? NO!

It is sad and it happened around me. Parents were buying illegal drugs for their kids when they are in Junior High. This really sickens and disturbs me to know about this. Is this what our children need and should be raised up to do and use? NO!

I know I am a rookie when it comes to parenting but in the short amount of time I have been inovlved this stuff really strikes a nerve with me more now than ever. The reason thinking that parents should be a positive inlfuenec and really they are not today.

Parents are still wanting to be the kids and have the "whatever" thought.

  1. I don't care what my kids do.
  2. I don't care who is involved with my kids.
  3. I don't care what my kids become.
  4. I don't care that my kids drop out of school.
  5. I don't care that my kids do drugs and alcohol.
  6. I don't care that my kids particpate in sexual acts.
  7. I want to do what i want to do.
  8. I don't care if I put my kids in danger.
  9. I don't care that my kids are in jail or prison.
  10. My kids can choose everything they want to do and that is fine with me.

You know WHATEVER!

How many people that you know may believe in this and practice this. It disturbs me because parents or guardians just don't care. If they cared they will be involved and watch over everything their kids are doing.

Live above the whatever attitude and care!

Good Intentions 10-28-08 10:15pm CST

I think this Sunday I am going to bring a lesson about good intentions. It is sad in seeing the world as a whole thinking that good morals are it. The thought process behind it is that I can be a good moral person and God will accept me for that. It is wrong in thinking that God will accept me for who I am.

Matthew 7:21-23 really relate to this. "Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven." In my reading this verse I picture the judgement day approaching and people trying to persuade God that because of their good morals that should be satisfying enough. It isn't this way! Notice the next part of the verse "but he who does the will of my Father in Heaven."

God commands and expects complete obedience. We can't go half way it must be all the way. Thus stopping the thought of good morals will be enough. James chapter 2 speaks about faith and works. Our faith must be placed in God and must be working together with works in addition. Faith and works interlocking together are found accpetable to God.

I am also reminded about Cornelius in Acts. He was considered as a good man with good morals and intentions. He gave alms and did a lot of good works. However this wasn't enough. He was needing more and what was that more he needed? He needed works to be found acceptbale to God. He was needing to completely obey the will of God and that required him to be baptized for the remission of his sins. He realized his good intentions were not enough and he needed more thus he acted upon what he believed in.

Good intentions cause one to be lead astray. It takes so much more and people do not want to go the extra mile to be found right according to God and their spiritual state is not good and the end is eternal death (Romans 6:23).

Jesus says if you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15). If we love Jesus we will do what it takes entirely to follow God. We just like Christ will do the will of the Father and do it through the example of Christ (I Corinthians 11:1).

Are we doing everything we can?

Or are we thinking our good intentions will be enough?

It is sad to think, there really are many people with great morals and good intentions but they are missing the mark when it comes to salvation.

bekka

I have known many people with good morals and values....but just don't get it, and when you talk relegion, they can't see the differance. that is Sad.

It is very sad to think that so many people out there think that they are "doing the right things" but don't get the whole picture. Sounds like a great sermon Hun :)

News to Rejoice 10-14-08 09:31am CST

Monday 10-13-08 we have reasons to rejoice.

Deborah Grudzien has put on Christ. Please rejoice with us as we welcome Deborah into the body of Christ.

This is not the only news. Amy Swims who had been working with Deborah for a while now has also made herself right with God in confessing to sins and needing to make her heart right with God also. This happened after the baptism yesterday.

Rejoice with us as we have helped two lost souls draw closer to God.
