I was reading Proverbs and I came across this verse and I really liked it.
Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it
Notice here the word should. How many timetoday people don't raise a child the way they should be raised.
They involve their children in so mnay different things that they should be around and should be involved with.
I don't know if you saw this commercial on TV but this is what i am thinking grant it is a sister and brother. A little boy has a burning ash that constantly appears on his hands and body. Everywhere he goes it happens. Finally it is all brought together. He witnesses the sister getting ready to smoke pot. Does this child need to be involved with this? NO!
It is sad and it happened around me. Parents were buying illegal drugs for their kids when they are in Junior High. This really sickens and disturbs me to know about this. Is this what our children need and should be raised up to do and use? NO!
I know I am a rookie when it comes to parenting but in the short amount of time I have been inovlved this stuff really strikes a nerve with me more now than ever. The reason thinking that parents should be a positive inlfuenec and really they are not today.
Parents are still wanting to be the kids and have the "whatever" thought.
- I don't care what my kids do.
- I don't care who is involved with my kids.
- I don't care what my kids become.
- I don't care that my kids drop out of school.
- I don't care that my kids do drugs and alcohol.
- I don't care that my kids particpate in sexual acts.
- I want to do what i want to do.
- I don't care if I put my kids in danger.
- I don't care that my kids are in jail or prison.
- My kids can choose everything they want to do and that is fine with me.
You know WHATEVER!
How many people that you know may believe in this and practice this. It disturbs me because parents or guardians just don't care. If they cared they will be involved and watch over everything their kids are doing.
Live above the whatever attitude and care!
