Jason Leber, our new preacher, has arrived. He has done a superb job of preaching and teaching Bible Class. Although he is young and single, he has fit in very well with all age groups. Our previous preacher did very well in that regard as well. Age should not be barriers because we all have one thing in common. We are all Christians!!!!!!! In the past I have seen preachers cater just to one age group or a group that has certain interests. This weakens a congregation. One should never play politics. Some congregations are said to have rejected men because they were single and did not think they would be suited to preach. Well, those same people would have to reject the Apostle Paul then!!! Well, let me climb off of my soapbox!
I know it has been almost 6 months since I have posted here. We are getting a new preacher, but we will have to wait patiently till September. He had promised the people where he was at that he would stay with them 3 months prior to leaving. It is hard trying to find a preacher, but I think this young man will do a good job.
Hey Paul, I don't know if you remember me from the time I was in TX a couple of years ago. This is Ryan Miller. Out of curiosity, where did the Belchers go to?
My preacher is sadly leaving us where I attend. He is moving to be closer to ederly parents which I cannot blame him. He had done the congregation so much good and was so good to my late Father. He will be hard to replace. He was good with people, very wise, and had good knowledge of the scriptures. If anyone knows of anyone looking for a preaching job, send him my way.
In a way I am kind of worried that there will not be many good preachers to choose from.
What a weekend! 2 FREE tickets to see A&M actually play decent ball against Baylor on the 50 yard line. Noticed I said "decent". Same mistakes were being made from the embarassing Miami game from the previous week. However the game was won, there was room for improvement. I am writing this from Aggie Land as we speak will return to dullsville tomorrow! Visited both Twin City and Benchley congregations seeing some friends I had not seen in a while. Good trip, now I have to go home. If I could get a good job up here, I would probably move to Bryan/College Station. Lots of things to do, many places to eat! Why do I always think about food???????
Well time goes by fast as you get older. Today marks one year of my Father's death from Cancer. This very day feels as it had happened yesterday. Not one day within this year, I did not think about him. Time does make things easier, but you never forget. Now I feel like I have almost adjusted meaning I have been through every event and holiday for the first time without him. You more less change the way you do things a bit or simply in a way do not celebrate them. Father's Day was the last holiday without him, I almost felt I was going to lose him on that day which would have been tragic. Today, I will try to be busy and the same time take it easy.
