it's almost 3 in the morning and I just got home... 11-21-08 02:44am CST
The movie was great! Well worth staying up late for. And the casting...possibly the best I've ever seen. I will be seeing this one again. We had a group of 10 people and it was just a blast. If you go see Twilight let me know what you think of it.
ashfieldsTwilight? I'll have to check that one out...don't think I've heard of it :)
sallyanne1:30 P.M. We leave in less than four hours :)
bekkanever heard of "Twilight"
sugarcaneJoe told me about her vacation days. that's great!! Either one would work. As to the weather... ya never know.
sallyanneGood and bad. Good was that I LOVED it. Bad was that Josh was *supposed* to sleep the entire time (and/or nurse)...he fell asleep right when we got there--45 minutes before showtime. UGH--'best laid plans'! So, he got up to a certain point, woke up and nursed--still quiet and content (I covered his ears). I 'milked that for what it was worth' pardon the pun---and then he sat up and was very interested in what was going on around him...I stuffed his little face with animal crackers and even, gulp, sips of my soda (which I never do) to keep him happy and quiet.

He was a trooper, but I had to leave the theatre to make a potty run for him...so I missed the entire ball game scene. Then when we came back it was tense so I walked with him in the isle--I could see mostly, but he could not...so my viewing was less than focused.

I should have given him to one of the guys, but I was not sure if they could handle it (I underestimated them I'm sure and so it was my own fault)...Not sure if I can wait for the DVD or if we might plan another outing for me...still thinking on it ;)
sallyanneI really hate when my comment is longer than your blog. That never happens on my page ;)

short-sheeted and short-blanketed...kinda 11-19-08 10:20am CST
Ya know, I've been making up beds for a pretty fair number of years now. However, my current mattress has me perplexed. My problem? During the night the sheet goes all to one side of the bed and the blanket to the other. Every. night. It has to be something I'm doing when I make it up. The direction the sheet and blanket shift stays consistent throughout the period between sheet changings and then can reverse directions. Currently, Wes is the recipient of all the sheet while I have all the blanket by mornings time. A little chilly on him. I really like my bed coverings to stay together--just feels nicer and not all messy that way. Wish I could figure this out...

The cat has an "official" name at last. I guess we were making sure we were keeping her...and we are. We're way too attached at this point. Her name is KittyFace. Dee is getting better being around KittyFace and, not surprisingly, Dee is the cat's favorite person. However, KittyFace will be getting a collar with a bell on it. She turns into "Jungle Kitty" and attacks your socks randomly. Scares me witless. We're also having her declawed soon, I hope.

We're getting more excited by the day about Twilight! I plan on really sleeping in tomorrow so I'll be good to go around midnight! We're going to get to the theater way early so we can get good seats too. There should be a huge crowd there.

Hope your week has been a good one so far. Love and prayers!

Go here for a picture of KittyFace. Pami likes taking pix with her iphone...
sugarcaneThe midnight shows were all sold out a couple of days ago, here. Hope you have a great time!
zaphenathhrm, maybe you could sew the sheets and blankets together... yeah...
big_bertha_blueI want to get Higgens declawed but Jeremy won't let me. He's ways, "But he won't be able to defend himself!" And I say, "defend against what? the couch?"
caraboomaybe you need larger sheets and blankets. is your mattress particularly deep?
donnajo^I've got the biggest queen size sheets I can find because I do have an insanely deep mattress.
teelduoAdmit it! You are taking all the blankets from Wes at night. LOL
dragon_bladeDunno about your first problem... O_o As for the cat, KittyFace is a cute name, and I'm very glad that you're keeping her!!!! :D
ootdaSo, does KittyFace have control of the tv remote???
hillabillyInvestigator Denny thinks Mr. Wes is pulling the sheet to his side of the bed during the night, and Ms. Donna is pulling the blanket to her side because it's all that left. However, I'm still haven't quite decided where the butler and maid fit into the picture. More facts are needed.
caraboothe uneducated masses.... hahaha. email on its way.
bigmommaWe are going to see Twilight, maybe next week or so.

leftovers?? I think not... 11-18-08 07:21am CST
Our Thanksgiving celebration went exceptionally well. There was A LOT of food brought...and eaten. And much, much fun and laughter. With the exception of a couple of families that were sick, everyone came over after church. We even had a visitor or two...or three. I couldn't even begin to recall all the food for you but I do know there wasn't an inch of available counter space or table space in the kitchen after all the goodies were laid out. And I have a fair amount of counter space. And when it was done, it looked like locusts had come and stripped the land bare. Yep, we had us some eatin' people here--they cleaned out practically everything. Poor Wes was sad to learn there were no leftovers from the feast later that night. I did manage to get a couple of really tasty recipes though...

The Isaiah class is going great. Enjoying it so much. We're enjoying a good turnout on Monday nights. Wes is doing his usual superb job of teaching.

The kitty is still here and all is well, I think. She is such a social cat. Very loving and not scared of much. Well, she's scared of my ruler...and with good reason. Even though I'm not really a cat person, I have to say they are much easier to care for than dogs. And this cat is just as interactive as any puppy would be. The unannounced attacking of my sock feet needs to go though...

The girls and I already have our tickets to the midnight showing of Twilight! Good news is that the theater is less than 10 minutes from here. Bad news is that it's on Friday morning so Laurie still has to go to work that day. Actually all her co-workers are going with us. That should be a fun Friday at the bank--they will all be too sleepy to properly count the money. We are excited about seeing this movie--the books are obsessively good.

Well that's all my news. Nice and calm around here and we like it that way! Hope you are enjoying a peaceful week as well. Love!
israelwhen you were talking about the kitty i thouht you were talking about Diana.
quincysmomROLLL TIDEEEEEE! I read about your kitty problem. The exact same thing happened to me. My SIL has a kennel and someone dropped the sweetest kitten off to die. We brought in home and put it in the storage room outside. It is the perfect cat except I itch really bad when I touch him. We have had cats before but I wasn't allergic.

Your Thanksgiving celebration sounds like my recipe swap that I have the first Sun. night in Dec. Last year we had 35 with tons of food. This year, 70 have been invited and I figure about 50 will come. I am not sure what we will do except move my furniture out of the living room to set up tables. It makes for good times!
big_bertha_blueI realized last night that the movie was coming out Friday. Hopefully my book will get here today and I can start my reading frenzy. :P
sugarcaneI was wondering how the celebration went. glad everyone had such a good time. Love you! Enjoy the movie. i just finished the second book. Joe bought the other two, so i guess i will be reading them soon.
kattathI think I'm going to try and get some people together to see the movie on Saturday! I only have a 170 pages or so in the last book, I can't wait to finish! I'm so exctied!!!!!
dragon_bladeSounds like loads of fun!! :D The kitten sounds adorable! Although...truth be told...I though that you were telling us that The Kitty was still there and well. :D *lol*
carabooaw, i understand wes's disappointment. i love thanksgiving leftovers.
killer_bunniesthank you very much. I have realized that babies are more work than they seem, and I'm trying to get myself ready for it. Thank you for all that you said. it really means alot to me

ROLL TIDE!! 11-15-08 10:41pm CST
11-0...incredible. Nick Saban is a genius. And a great recruiter. My friends, THIS is Alabama Football.

come on over... 11-15-08 12:23pm CST
Today I am getting ready for our big Thanksgiving celebration with everyone from church. We decided to have a get-together tomorrow after morning services and it'll be here at my house. So I'll be having around 50 folks for lunch. I'm only doing the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy--the rest of the feast will be brought by various others. We assigned everyone their "specialty" dish so the food will be yummy!! I've got housework to finish, a trip to the store for a few things I had forgotten to get and also a visit from our appliance fixer dude from church--my washer broke yesterday.
What is happening with our kitty, you ask? Well, she hasn't been found a new home yet and seems to be pretty content here. As long as Dee doesn't cuddle up to her too much, she does OK with the cat here. Mostly the kitty is happy being confined to the laundry room but we do let her out to roam every so often. She seems to have "bonded" with me because she follows me everywhere when she is out. A very lovable cat I must say--and I'm not really a cat person. I did bathe her to help with the allergies and it seemed to do some good. But wow, cats don't like baths, do they?! Had to call some reinforcements in when it came time to rinse her. This is all a new experience for me.
Hoping for a good game tonight between Alabama and Miss State. By good, I mean an Alabama blowout! State has beaten us the last two years so it's time to change that trend! Roll Tide!!
amandochkaI don't think you'll have an issue blowing Miss State out. That's the only SEC team that UT did beat and you know how bad UT is this year.
girl_hustedEnjoy your dinner!! I am having Thanksgiving here today for about 20 of the college-aged folks. :)
ootdaHad to laugh over giving kitty a bath and needing help!!! Been there done that! Our dinner w/ church family is on the 22nd. Have fun!!!!
caraboommmm, t-day dinner... i'm trying to get my friends to do a "friends" day so we can have more than one dinner :D
sallyanneYum!
happinessHaha, you gave your cat a bath... that must have been fun! I've had my kitty for 21 years and only tried a bath once. She never got one again. ;) ROLL TIDE!
carabooroll tide!!! 11-0, wow... i'm rooting for bama all the way this year since marshall has gone down the hole recently.
sugarcaneWoo-hoo!!!
bigmommaKatie is extremely allergic to cats. Her allergies sound very similar to Diana's. Katie, though, lately has started some asthma when around cats.
big_bertha_blueI just bought the first book of twilight on ebay. I'm excited.
stephen_halldolphins rule!!!
zaphenathYEEEE-ah.
