your point is well taken. it is true that we will never know the hearts of men, and whether or not they are doing what they are supposed to be doing all the time. the main thrust of it was that we should not judge the individual heart based on the size of the congregation, that sometimes we can inadvertently make that connection unrighteously. whereas i believe its wrong to judge a person immoral based on incomplete information, the same must be said for the other extreme: to judge a person righteous based on incomplete info as well. i believe we should all take a second look at things, rather than taking them for face value, and that includes the attitude of our fellow christians
What's going on class? Those were great times with Houchen. He came to Atlanta about a year ago. We spent about 4 hrs in Waffle House talking about the most ridiculous things (as you can imagine). Do you still play tennis?
Have you ever been in trouble? Have you ever felt like you were alone in the wilderness? Or do you feel that way now? Does it feel like the world is closing in on you? Satan has you on the run and you feel alone.
What do we do in an emergency? We call 911! Help is then on the way!
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to dial 911 when we are in a spiritual trial? We can! We have our own 911, that is Psalm 91:1-
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High. Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." When we are in trouble we run to shelter. God is that shelter, He is our protection. He goes on to say in Vs2: "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in Him I will Trust'". Run to Safety! Run to the Lord.
The psalmist does not stop there, he goes on to say no matter what may come, what dangers you face, God will deliver you. He also sends back up! Vs9-11: "Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, the Most High your dwelling place , No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways." So do not fret reinforcements are coming.
Last of all the psalmist concludes that because we have set our love on God he will show us salvation (Vs 16). God is so good. Rememeber when times of trial come, rest in the Shadow of the ALmighty.
Hey man, I know you're never on here-- but drop me a line next time you are! Hope that life's treating you good. You'll have to send me some info on the internship this summer if you ever get a chance. My email is kellenketch@yahoo.com Take care brother!
Have any of you thought about God's unmatchless grace? Seriously think about it on your best day you dont match up. Yet, He gives it so freely. Even when I am being stupid and doing something I shouldn't. He still gives it freely. WOW! I am dumbfounded on why HE would put up with us. I would of given up on us long ago, luckly I am not God. SO all I have to do is accept His Son and I can partake of his grace? YES! How cool is that! Once you accept His Son through faith, God takes care of the rest. God then perfects you to be the vessel He wants you to be. Just a thought. (See Romans and Galations for further thoughts on grace.)
YES! With God all things are possible, hense perfection! Thanks for the comments. Reminds me of the theif who at first ridiculed Jesus, then as his faith said to him, this is Gods very son, he believed that there was an afterlife. Remember me when you come into your kingdom. This is Traci Head, btw.
