"May I be a nurse, Lord,
With gentle, healing hands,
Who always speaks with kindness,
Who cares and understands,
And while I'm serving others
As You would have me do,
Please help me to remember
That I'm truly serving You"
Update on nights:
sleep is getting much better
appetite is getting much better, I'm getting used to eating a meal at 2am...
well, its 8am, I better head to bed!
PS: ONLY 3 DAYS UNTIL ALABAMA FOOTBALL! I feel a good season coming on...
That is wonderful girl! I am glad you are feeling much better about it all..
It was so good to see ya Sunday! I hope I get to again, without that long of a wait like last time.. ;-)
"I wanna do something that matters
Say something different
Something that sets the whole world on it's ear
I wanna do somethin better, with the time I've been given
And i wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
And leave nothin less that something that says i was here"
So they put me on call last night because there were too many nurses scheduled, meaning, I had slept til 5pm yesterday and was wide awake and ready to go all night long. So I watched a little olympics, caught up on a few shows and was bored out of my mind by 2:30am. Hmmmm....I'll probably be about ready to fall asleep when I'm at work tonight.
I think I'm SLOWLY starting to adjust to this schedule, its been hard mentally, physically and emotionally. WHy did I think that my body would immediately convert to a different schedule after only being one way for 24yrs? I feel like I"ve been COMPLETELY out of the loop for the last 3 weeks. The only place I've been besides the hospital is church, and I"m doing good to make it there. Anything exciting going on with anyone?
BG is SO out of our way...I think the closest I'll be is still about 3 hours away. I wish I could just swing by, but it ain't that easy when you're driving a moving truck and have two big dogs.
I tell you what, even though nightshift is hard, they were the best nurses we had in the hospital! I'm all for the nightshift nurses! :) Good luck with your transition!
I have decided to take a positive attitude about the night shift
1) I get to see the sun rise every morning..
2) My patients like to sleep for the MOST part (ok not alot, but more than on day shift)
3) The people are WAY more laid back and fun
.
.
...I'm out...
Here's to:
- 25% off at GAP and finding jeans that FIT
- New shoes for work
- purse parties!
- Awesome roommates who bring me sprite and make me laugh
- Game nights
- Patients who SLEEP
- Patients who don't code
- Sweet kids who give you hugs everytime they see you
- Going HOME next week and seeing my cousins, aunt, brother and sister who i havent seen since MARCH!
Yeah, me too. I like your attitude regarding the night shift. Later when i am not holding babies i will give you my perspective on my night nurses during childbirth. it might make you feel good about the job you are doing. :)
So - are you like, LIVING a Grey's Anatomy episode now? Haha - I've never actually watched that show - it's FILTHY. But seriously, meeting any cute doctors?
YEAH!!!! If you don't mind if you think about it mentioning something again to the Marshal girls and their girl friends. We gave them all some invites and some where intrested, just don't think they'll remember or know where I live. See you then!
WOO HOO!! I'm so happy for you! And we're all doing well. We stopped in BG two Saturdays ago, just stopped in at Wilson's job for a few minutes. Maybe next time we can stop longer and see you too!
