"Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more worth than many sparrows."
Just wanted to put something up a little more chipper than yesterday! God loves us and has given us His law for our good always, accroding to Deuteronomy. Why should we fear?
Ummmm, conversation with the atheist... it's a long story. Basically, I think he just likes to argue and isn't interested in whether there's a God. I'll have to tell you more on the phone later.
i really appreciate you considering my feelings in retrospect...we were all pretty awkward in those days...i certainly had my issues, too and i would like to apologize for any times that i came off like a jerk as well...i'm sure there were a few...:) isn't it great that we can mature and look back and go, "wow...we were losers!"...lol....it's nice to know we're improving with age...:)
I emailed you. Unfortunatly neither my sister or I will be able to make it. She has stuff to do for school and I have previous plans and didn't know about it till I got home from FC. But thank you for the invitation and if you have another one we will make sure to come!
I actually got to meet Mr.Malone last night. I didn't really get to talk to him because he just had gotten in from a long day, and there were a lot of people there. Hopefukky though, I wil get to see him in a little bit. : ) I am excited!
okay, you need to blog! I am going to heckle you via texting, and if you don't blog soon I am going to repeat my comment I made to you about a certain "Quantum of Solace" actor!
Psm 119:28
My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your Word.
Its interesting to me how parts of the bible that I've read before but didn't let sink in will touch me when I read them later. I always kinda thought of 119 as a more intellectual praise of God's laws, but there is actually a lot of emotional stuff in there too, when you let yourself read it in a different light.
Silly me-never underestimate the power of God's word to touch hearts! If you think of me at some point today, I'd appreciate a prayer. Hope you all are doing well!
miss you, Em! I need to come visit you sometime!!! :D I'll be in Louisville the weekends after Thanksgiving and Christmas with Ryan's family to visit his grandmommy (but my guess is that you won't be there). Am I right? So I should come visit sometime.
Oh I ok I just wondered becasue she used to live in Lousville and she just got married to one of the men who goes to church here and now goes to church HERE! Whew!! I if I was saying that out loud I would have had to take some albuterol! lol
The weather was amazing! It was not freezing at all, so my face is still on my head cause I didn't freeze it off. Very exciting. Thanks for the well wishes:) I feel motivated to leave you all another laugh. Have a smashing day everyone!
very valid question, my only counter to it would be that even if a person doesn't say the words outloud they generally sound them out in their mind therefore I would conclude that the logical thought would still be there. :)
But I feel the need to put a disclaimer on here.
I AM NOT DEPRESSED!!
This poem, is a plea for the Lord’s help to keep me focused on the main goal of the Christian life. It does not mean that I am disappointed with my life or disillusioned with love. (It especially does not mean that I want someone to set me up!) I have a great deal of joy and blessings! And I am very happy. But, as any single person will tell you, every once in a while there is a certain longing that strikes, in a rather distracting manner, that tends to focus all your energies on the one thing you don’t have. This is my answer to that longing, and will continue to be so unless the Lord chooses to fill that longing in His own way, in His own time.
Prayer of a Single Woman
Take my mind off moonlit walks,
Take my mind off amorous talks;
When I see the things I miss,
Help me Lord to keep my kiss.
Take my mind off making plans,
Take my mind off wedding bands;
When my heart begins to ache
Guide me through the steps I take.
Make your will my one desire,
Fill me with your spirit’s fire!
Lead me to the central passion:
Serving You in loving fashion.
And when I feel so all alone
Set my mind on going Home.
yup i know what your talking about and they are addicted to the crackle paint and anything with clever sayings written on them and oh, my most hated favorite the shellac food or fake food like pies and breads.... whats with that?
I have to work the 30th & 31st (even though I have scads of vacay time! rrr!) My company paid 700 crinkles for me to go to a seminar on the 30th, and then I promised I would stay the whole time on the 31st to mind the phones while everyone else in my department leaves early for their halloween dates. Not that I'm bitter. ;-)
You're right, I didn't mention Humble in my list of awesomeness because after all Humble is at the heart of all that I do...which is why I'm the best at everything.
That is really pretty! We made our reservations for camping! We'll be there Thursday night, Lord willing. Justin and Julian are coming with us...they are our friends who we wanted to come last year. We're excited they are coming. I can't wait!
uh huh . . . u need to find a different creativity route. I think you should be a cartoonist. Just make a character you can have calamity happen to. That way if you feel like kicking a dog you can! What's with the wall thing??? Huh???
Unfortunately, I'll be workin' till 2am Thursday night. :-/ But, a friend from Indy is going to drive up with me friday afternoon, so I'll be seein' you soon! :-)
I work with several atheists and agnostics and one of them asked me if he could ask me some questions after work today about my belief in God. Honestly, no one has ever asked me about that before. So, I'm not really sure what to anticipate.
