I asked a runner the other day about this. He agreed, and said that his hands really bother him when it gets too cold when he's running, but could care less if his feet were freezing or not. I'm the opposite of that.
I happened across your blog and realized that I know who you are. I grew up with Jamey and was at your wedding. My name is Beth (Erickson) Tidwell. Tell Jamey I said hi.
This is the time when people start to think about their resolutions for the new year.
We've been getting lots of people coming in Swag's to buy themselves a pair of running shoes, to get started with their running, which is commendable. They plan on kicking up their routine in high gear on the first.
But how about other goals? GOD? Family? Work? Dreams?
You walk into Meijer, or Wal-Mart and see all kinds of themes and colors you can pick for your tree: white, blue, gold, silver, red, etc. with themes from reindeer to snowmen or even John Deere.
I stick with the classics: Red and Gold with the jeweled-looking ornaments. But I've seen other people pull off other color themes on their trees, too: the "white" tree with silver ornaments, the country-looking theme with hillbilly ornaments all over it, or even Disney characters for Santa's little helpers.
I am doing the "I have a two-year old who can't keep his hands off the tree" theme. What might that look like? All the ornaments are above his reach. Which means that have the tree is bare. Beyond that I guess it is classic hodgepodge. I little of this and a little of that.
Ours is red and gold. However, I love random--all different colors and varieties of ornaments. Today I visited the Wakefield-Scearce Galleries in Shelbyville--a historic place, and they have every room decorated with a different-themed tree. They were so creatively beautiful!
Wow, that sounds pretty, Becca. And Terra, your tree has "teacher" and "James and what he likes to do" all over it. Holly, it'll be your first tree at your Houston crib! Boroi...no komen... :) ...main-main aje, kawan...
The theme of our tree is ornaments that we have collected over the years. Kyle and I even have ornaments from our childhood that our mothers have saved.
Hey, at least your tree looks "full!" And the nostalgic tree is always a definite classic, Cindy. :) Swag's has a runner's themed tree. Not bad, actually.
Don't think Kylee has ever felt THIS good about her hair. This morning after services people were coming up to her, one by one, complimenting her on her new hairdo!
Pat, Jenny, and I were constantly showering her with compliments: It was shorter, more hip, a lot lighter, and keeping her brows darker drew your attention to her beautiful eyes.
Kylee darling, you are growing up to be a GORGEOUS young lady. You're doing a great job on the inside, too!
If you're interested in running the Thanksgiving Day Run, visit Swag's site via my pleo link on here to register, or swing by the store before the 18th. Good Luck!
Ran Iroquois earlier today. The course goes up steep for the first mile and a half, but it's all downhill from there. You should push hard and strong going up, then ease it on down after that. It's a beautiful course, with all the leaves and fall colors around you. Very gratifying.
