I Love the falling leaves!
I Love pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns!
So now you know all the reasons why I LOVE this season, it puts me in such a happy mood :)
Sorry I wasn't in town for your party. I can't wait to see the cards y'all made. I did visit two stamp shops here in Canada. Took a couple of pictures of cards for ideas. I love fall too.
Fall & Winter are my favorite too. I love the change in the air...cooler air sometimes. Just reminds me sometimes of when school started ... at least when I was excited about starting school :o) Sorry I missed your party! I love stamping, but had an eye appointment at the same time.
Yep, we've had a good time. I found another scrap book store yesterday and bought a couple of stamps. One is an old pick up truck from the back. I took a few pictures of cards to have ideas to use it.
Hey, there is ongoing debate as to how much David looks like Edwin Crozier. I want some family perspective on that. Go to this website and click on the featured video. Let me know. www.franklinchurchofchrist.com
I love pumpkins too!!! Do you like pumpkin foods? Such as bread, cake, ice cream, etc??? I could eat off of pumpkin if I could. LOVE the taste and smell of it! :)
We are hoping to attract more non-Christians to come study with us by moving our studies to Thursdays. We are really hopeful about it. They did it in Palestine during the summer and have had a lot of success. Kurt Martin preaches there and has kept me up to date on the effort.
I agree with you on that! I do not like driving down there, but with work it is a neccessity sometimes. I'm hoping that I'll be riding w/one of the ladies on Thursday! :o) Sorry I won't get to see you though.
Thank you. I was so nervous, I don't feel comfortable teaching A group of women. You are so sweet to say that. I'm so glad I've gotten to know you and Donald better. You both are such an encouragement to me! Thank you for all you do.
Ok, so I have to list 8 things about myself that you may or may not know about me.
1. I broke my leg when I was 4. I dared my brother to run over it as fast as he could with his bicycle, and he did(I didn't think he would).
2. I can make my eyes vibrate.
3. I can't stand being the center of attention, and I will do my best to avoid it. I don't like bowling or pretty much any sport where I would be the one singled out for people to look at.
4. I am deathly afraid of fire. I have never lit a match in my life because of it. I'm convinced that when I do the flame is going to come back and light me on fire :P Silly I know, but it is the truth. I have to use those fire starters, because I feel that it is at a safe enough distance from me.
5. Here is a random fact. I watched Pearl Harbor 5 times when it was in the theater. Three times were with the same friend, we were obsessed with it, obviously, and the other two were with different people.
6. I was homeschooled my Junior and Senior year of highschool. I wanted to be, I wasn't forced to or anything. I wanted to be able to start college sooner, and I felt high school was just a waste of time with all the electives they made us take.
7. I played the flute for 5 years.
8. I don't like to mix my food. If I am eating a hamburger and fries, I will eat all the fries first then the hamburger. Same goes with every meal, I have to finish all of one thing before I go onto another.
1. I'm very thankful for my family, and everything they have done for me. I was truly blessed with 2 wonderful Christian parents and 2 great brothers that have always looked out for me :)
2. I'm thankful for my husband and the God fearing man that he is. He has helped me in so many ways, and I can never have enough time with him, and I thank God every day that he is in my life.
3. This may be silly but I am thankful for my dogs. They provide such enjoyment and security to my life. There is not a day that goes by that they don't put a smile on my face.
4. I am thankful for Donald's job. Some of you might not know that work had slowed down so much at his other job in Nacogdoches, that he could only get paid for 2 hours a day. I know that God was looking after us. With one phone call to his brother, Donald got this wonderful job here, and we have been blessed in so many ways because of it.
5. I am thankful for all the friends that I have. They have all been an encouragment to me through the years, and I don't know what I would do without them.
6. I am thankful for all the brethren at the Humble church of Christ where I attended till I was 21. They are my family and always will be. They have always supported my family in good times or bad and have been the example of what Christians should be.
7. I am thankful to live in this wonderful country. I have never travled outside of the U.S. so all I know of other countries is what I have heard from people or t.v. and I know that we have it pretty good here. When my brother and sister in law lost power after the hurricane, she had no problem living at the house. She said that she was used to having to wash clothes in a bucket. She is from Argentina for those of you that didn't know. It is things like that, that make me realise how good we really have it here.
8. I am thankful that my mother was a stay at home mom. I am grateful for all the time I got to spend with her and things that we got to do. She has always been a wonderful example for me and I hope to follow in her footsteps one day.
9. Last but not least, I am thankful for the brethren at Cy-Fair, they have welcomed us with open arms. We have enjoyed being apart of the congregation and look foward to being able to worship with them for the time that we are here.
There are so many more things to list but I need to get to work on some stuff. I think this is the longest post I have ever had :)
I am the same way about fire. When i was in jr. high I used to stay up all night and be on the lookout for fires starting in the house. I was insane :)
I am the same way about the food....Hey when are y'all coming to Nac??? I really want to be able to see you guys....I just spent the last 4 days with Lindsey....she came and visited and stayed at my parents house....Now its just time to see y'all....Let me know when....
I enjoy fireworks...from a distance, maybe inside the car :) And don't ask me to light them, ha ha ha..that ain't happening. I did the same thing planning routes out of the house. I would also go around unplugging things late at night because I was so sure they would start to spark. You'll have to ask me about the time I dropped a metal hanger on a half-plugged in plug. Sparks shooting and smoke everywhere.
loss of power - no fun
loss of water - no fun
loss of cell phone signal - no fun
no sleep - no fun

Hurricane = no fun
If there is another hurricane while we are living in the houston area I'm not so sure I want to stay.
Thankfully though everthing is fine. We got our power back on yesterday and our water is back on(even though we aren't supposed to drink it) but our cell phones still aren't working. We had a little water damamge on our bedroom ceiling, but we are in a rent house so it won't come out of our pocket to get it fixed :)
My parents are still without power and their generator went out last night so they may be coming to stay with us for a while. Amazingly David and Adriana's place made it through with hardly any damage. He said they just lost part of their fence but no flooding so we are all glad about that(they live in Texas City).
Well, I hope everyone is doing good and got through the storm ok.
I said the same thing about staying again. I was up all night worried about the kids more than anything. I'm thankful that you and your family are safe.
I haven't gotten the evite yet. Rumor has it that they are going to make us make up the class days we missed during Ike. Looks like my classes are scheduled for Oct 4 and 11. Boo.
Well, my title says it all. Everything is going great. Donald turned 27 today. I bought him a Wii for his b-day and he loves it. I actually like it a lot more then I thought I would. It is something fun to do together. So besides his cold (which I think has now turned into a sinus infection) he has really enjoyed his birthday.
I have been keeping busy with my new hobby of stamping thanks to them. Lindsey and her mom introduced this to me a few weeks ago and I have been going crazy buying stamps and paper and all sorts of things so I can make cards. It's fun, I love doing crafty stuff. It is also neat to be able to give someone a unique card. Eventually I will probably get into scrapbooking, just not yet.
My sister-in-law, his wife, passed her test yesterday so she is a U.S. citizen now, we are very happy about that, and very proud of her :)
We are currently planning a trip to Nac. the 2nd weekend in October. I am VERY much looking foward to this. I miss the people and that town sooo much. I never thought I would but now that I am living back in the city, I can't help but think of everything I miss about living in the country. Of course when I lived there I missed everything about the city :) Hopefully we will get to see all of our friends and go fishing, and walk downtown, and eat at La Caretta, oh how I miss that place lol, I am pathetic, I know. Oh yeah and of course hear some good preaching ;)
So that is what is going on with us. Brooke there is your update :D
Sounds like things are going well! You should do digital scrapbooking. Faster. Cheaper. Easier. I think it looks better. and you can have backup copies! :) Brandon would move back to Nac in a heartbeat. It'd take some convincing for me. I love the country....but I'm thinking like TN or something. ;) We go where the oil is though! Is La Caretta still open? Something closed down in Nac but I don't remember what.... Yes, Annie does make life "interesting". I'm just glad she wasn't our first child....because there would be no 2nd!
Thanks, I am glad you found me on here. You are making me hungery for La Caretta. Have you tried Los Cucos here in Katy? Cody takes his customers there alot. They bring their salsa out steaming hot, and it is so good. I could just eat that for a meal. I scrapbook when I have time but have never tried stamping I would love to see what you have made.
Glad to hear things are going well for you. Life, marriage, trips, hobbies and the sun in the morning are all absolutely wonderful when secure in Christ and sharing that hope with a Christian spouse. I'm really proud of you Amy. You.a.guud.grl.
Yay! I have recently gotten into stamping too! I love going into Hobby Lobby and looking at all the different paper. haha I agree, that you should try Los Cucos. It is my favorite Mexcian restaurant! There is one in Pearland that I go to. I have been wanting a Wii!! I'm glad that things are going so well for you!
Well definitely just let me know...cuz I really want to be able to see you and spend time with you...Hey maybe the two of you can come to Lufkin one evening and we can go eat somewhere or just visit...
There are several locations. There is one on 290, one outside Katy Mills and the one we eat at is at Hwy 6 and Clay. That one is likely the closest to you, too. Yes, please let me know about the party. See you Sunday.
Yeah - it didn't necessarily end up super relaxing, but it was fun. :) And our bedroom is starting to come together a bit. :) I didn't get to talk to you tonight. I hope Donald is feeling better!
Nice to "meet" you again! When you are here again, knock me in the head so I can get you straight in my head! My sister who sews so well is in Nacogdoches...RJ McLemore
