Well, this is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the smells, the food, the bonfires, the weather...and everything else that Fall brings. Things are good here with all of us. Allen is still working non-stop. This is his busiest season. Everyone is wanting to get stocked up on firewood for the winter and he does logging at work all day and then cuts between 4-8 ricks of firewood every evening. We have all our residential customers, plus, we supply 2 Cracker Barrels in Indianapolis. Noramlly, I would be helping him in the evenings and weekends, but being pregnant, it's out of the question this year.
I am now 32 weeks pregnant. I will start my weekly visits next week. They will be doing an ultra sound every week at my visits to make sure everything is okay. They call them bio-physical profiles. The baby will have to pass 8 tests each time before they will let me leave the office. Everything seems fine so far. We are praying that it will stay that way.
We had a great turnout at the Gospel Singing last Friday night. I think we had about 160 people present. We were really surprised at the turnout. Considering all the weiner roasts, football games and parties going on this time of year, we were really expecting a small crowd. The next one will be in January and it will be on a Saturday afternoon. I have to schedule a date for this.
If anyone likes haunted houses, Keith and Rex and Larry Ping are working on a haunted house out here at mom and dad's house. It is called The Haddonfield Hangar. It will be open to the public on Thursday October 30 and Saturday November 1 from 8pm-Midnight. Admission is $5 per person. 10 years and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult. The website for their haunted house is www.haddonfieldhangar.synthasite.com. If you get a chance to come it will be worth your trip. They try to do one every year and they always turn out great.
I can't believe you're 32 weeks already! That went fast. I'm glad you had a good turnout for the singing. We would have loved to come...maybe next time! Hopefully we'll see you soon; at the wedding maybe? I'm not sure about Thanksgiving.
32 weeks!! That's great! I went three times a week for the last trimester- enough to wear anyone out! Praying everything goes well for you and the little bit.
Dr. K is awesome, tell her and Ang, you know me! Something else, I read on your blog was you were due the week of Christmas. Wyatt's birthday is the 19th,shoot for that b/c if I remember right me and you share the same b-day!
Hi! I'm glad I got to see you too. Ewww...I'm glad I'm not at your house right now. I'd be puking right along with her. Poor thing. Katelyn is too funny. I hope everyone gets better soon, cause I sure don't want it! :) Love you!
These last weeks may end up passing fast for ya. Especially with many other events happening that helps keep our minds busy. We enjoyed the singing very much. We would have been there sooner if the Indy traffic was easier to cope with. Keith told me about the Haunted House. Not sure what we will do for the party. Fall season is enjoyable in many ways.
Hey Girl!! I can't wait until Thanksgiving! You goin' shopping with us this year??? it wouldn't be the same without cha! Love ya!! - oh, I am this name on here now cause I lost my password for the luv2bmom one.. LOL - Love ya!!
Man, it is gonna be different without cha!! But hey - We can shop 4 u if you aren't there.. lol - That is awesome about them moving up your due date!! I was figuring it would be the 15th! whoo hoo - But you know he is gonna come earlier than that! (hopefully) You said that Thanksgiving would be 36 weeks.. there you go! :-) He would be plenty ready!! :-) I can't wait to hold him!
This weather is insanely hot. I absolutely hate the hot weather. Katelyn, Emily and I have been seeing Catydids everywhere. They say at the first sighting of one, then it will only be 6 weeks until the first frost. I am so looking forward to fall and the cooler temperatures. I love Fall and Spring. I don't like hot and I don't like really cold. But, at the same time I could not imagine living anywhere else. One of the things I love most about Indiana is watching the seasons change.
Well we had a good reunion on Saturday. Thank you to all that came. I had so much fun and I loved seeing everyone. I can't wait til next year. I have never seen that much food at one of our get togethers before. There was too much to choose from!! We went to Allen's mom and dad's house on Monday evening for a cookout. We had homegrown green beans, tomatoes and corn on the cob. It was so yummy! I can't wait to put out a garden next year. We didn't get to this year. I told mom she is going to teach me about canning next year. She's not excited about that. She hates to can. I can't wait to learn!!
I agree with you on the weather! I can't wait for Fall! :) Glad the reunion turned out well! My dad told me it was really nice and that quite a few were able to go! I'm so glad! :) Hope we can make it next time!
What's up lady! Sorry, I haven't been down. I will soon. I just know how them boys are, they stay out there way too late. If you want me up at 5:30 in the morning, I gotta be in bed at a decent time! I've been working a lot lately too, in the evenings. So have you canned anything yet? I need to plant some tomatoes next year and get some salsa goin' and canned. Then we can have fresh salsa all through the year! :) I want my grandma to show me how to make some apple butter, too. MMMM...this is making me hungry!
Guess what! I got to hold Annessa on Friday at the Greenwood meeting! She is adorable and her hair is so cute...it sticks up all over the place. I didn't get to hold Ethan he was asleep in his car seat after the meeting and I didn't want to disturb. :) :)
I'm so glad you are having a good time. I heard about Fireproof thru Teresa Harris, and I was telling Rex about it. Sounds good. :) Take lots of pictures! :)
I ♥ you very much. I'm glad you all came last night. I was just thinking I haven't seen you all in so long. Your belly is twice as big as when I saw you last!
Hey it's Crystal just reading through your blog, I hope that's okay. Do you have Dr. Koewler from D'ville or is a different doctor. She's mine so I wandered.
Paul is my uncle. He is my mom's younger brother and he is only 51 years old. He has been diagnosed with bone cancer in his hip. He is currently at the Hux Cancer Center at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. I got an update from his wife (Aunt Martha) this morning:
"Just a brief update on Paul. They did a bone marrow biopsy on him yesterday. Those results should be back in on Monday. From there they should be able to tell just what kind of cancer we are dealing with. The oncologist says his first "guess" is that it is Multiple Myoloma (sp?). He said that this was one of the more treatable cancers of this type, but not to get our hopes up yet. IF it is this, then our next step is, of course, treatments...radiation, chemo, etc. When he goes into remission and is stable enough he will have to go to Indy to have both hips and his right femur totally replaced. At this poiint he is totally bed ridden and cannot put any weight on his legs at all until he gets the replacements. There are Listic legions that have ate away at the bones and have weakened them so much that the orthopedic surgeon said his legs could "snap like a twig" if he put weight on them.. (that is why his hip is fractured) So, anyway, we are now doing the waiting game to see what the biopsy results will show."
They have 3 children. The two boys, Josh and Clay are out of high school and their daughter Abby is still in school. She is 12 or 13 years old. They live in Dugger, so, they will be traveling about 45 minutes one way to get to the hospital everytime they go. Martha is a stay at home mom and so they have no income coming in. He has used up all his sick time from work and the health insurance probably will not continue for very long. They attend the Ellis Church of Christ. Paul is very active in teaching, song leading and etc. It is really wearing on him to not be there. They could use all the help and support that anyone is able to give. It is going to get very expensive for them eating out and buying food and gas. Please keep them in your prayers. Thank you.
I am so sorry to hear about your uncle Paul! We will be praying here, Beth!
And yes, I think we are coming to the get together. If we do, it will just be that Saturday morning and for the day and then we will head up to Mom and Dad's for the rest of the weekend. We will be in touch.
We stopped in to see them yesterday while at the hospital with Lloyd. They were not having a good day and so we didn't really visit. If you know of anything that would help them while in the hospital please let me know.
It will be really fun to be together!!! I can't wait for your Mom's Cherry and blueberry delight...it has been too many years since I've had it:)
Yes, Dustin is coming! Angela is out of town and is very sad to be missing it:(
I was sooooo tired on Monday. Actually, I took the morning off - I couldn't get up. But when I got home from work I laid down and slept till 6. I had to make myself get up then. My leg is better and every day my back gets a little better. What a scary night!!! I'm glad we all made it home safe and sound. Love ya too!
Well we went for another ultra sound last Friday and they said it's a boy. We were so happy. I'll be really happy if they are right and it really is a boy!
But they said that so far everything looked good. I am 20 weeks and the baby is measuring just the right size. I am due the week of Christmas, so that will be a nice present. Once I get between 28-30 weeks, I will start going every week for an ultra sound. The baby will have to pass 8 tests every week. If the baby fails just one of the tests then, I do not get to go home. They said it's not a perfect system, but, it's the best that they have. I'm just glad they are concerned enough to take extra steps. That's more than what I can say for my last doctor. Well, I'm really exicted about Labor day weekend. I hope all you Guyer's are going to be able to make it. Peace out!!
^^Ditto. Mom says Dr. Kaylor (sp?) won't let you out of her sight if she's unsure about something. You are in good hands. I am looking forward to this Saturday too!
Hope this finds everyone doing well. It has been a while since I posted. There's not much new here. Dad just got out of the hospital on Monday. He went in early Sunday morning with abdominal pain. Turned out to be appendicitis. So, once they got rid of that, he was fine. He came home Monday and insisted that Mom drive him to Michigan on Tuesday to go back to work. He is feeling really good though.
Allen and I have an appointment on August 8th for an ultrasound. Hopefully we will get to see if it is a boy or a girl. We are really hoping for a boy!
On August 30, which is the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Mom and Dad are having a Guyer get-together at the house here. Dad really wants the family to start getting together again once a year and he figured he would try to get it started. If everyone can come and get together on Saturday, it would leave Sunday and Monday to travel home. Everyone can make their own sleeping arrangements. We could put up maybe one or two families at our house. Mom and Dad could put up one or two and Rex and Sarah live about 30 minutes from here. They are getting ready to move to Plainfield in a couple of weeks, and they could probably put up a family or two. There are hotels that are close-by in Spencer and in Martinsville if anyone needs those. Anyways, I hope all of you will pass the word about the get-together and I hope everyone can come. We will have volleyball and horseshoes, croquet and maybe cornhole, if you're lucky. I'm guessing it will be a pitch-in like all previous get togethers. If you have questions, you can call mom and dad at 812-879-4149 or me at 812-879-4129. See you there!!
Glad your dad is doing better! Hope your ultrasound goes well! I talked to your dad a while back (when he was working on my mom & dad's house) and he was really wanting to get some reunions started up! I'm glad he took the initiative! :)
Hey, we will be there, if nothing comes in the way! We will look forward to being together with as many of the family that can come. Yes, a good ole' pitch-in like we've always done! We always have so many great dishes of food to pick from! No one will starve! We'll all have a good time! It doesn't surprise me that Jaun wanted to go on to his job. I hope that he doesn't over due it. We will hope for you and Allen that the baby will be healthy in all ways.
Glad I got to spend some time with you this weekend. Sorry it wasn't for very long yesterday. Hopefully we will do some more this weekend. You will have to come and stay at our new house! I'm excited for the new house, but I'm soooooooo not looking forward to all the actual work. Imagine that! :)
I wish we could come but that is not going to be able to happen. Kevin and I are in FL and don't have the ability. I really am glad that they are doing it though. I have missed getting together and having reunions! Have fun!
