The pics were great. Looks like you all had a "very" good time. Isn't little Kaelyn a joy. She is really getting into people talking to her. Your whole family just looks priceless and I know you think they are. What fun thank you for sharing.
So glad you had a good visit with all who could make it. The pictures are great! I'm thankful for good roads on which our loved ones can travel and make the world feel smaller rather quickly!
Gifts sometimes come in small, beautifully wrapped packages,
this day and time its usually in a neat gift bag, but sometimes
gifts arrive in person and personal. Mine came this week in
person and VERY NEAT!! Want to know what it is?? Guess?? No,
it isn't a new chair, vacuum cleaner, dress, ring..you aren't
even warm. OK--I'll tell.
Mark, my VERY NEAT son-in-law came in person and re-did my
outdated computer with all new stuff. Now I'm modernized with a
like-new computer still in the old shell. But I can do things
faster, get more up-to-date news, have choices of a number of
things that I don't know how to do yet, BUT best of all, he set
me up for Skype--if you have this feature too, we can talk to
each other audibly, and SEE each other while we are talking.
Now thats NEAT!! Thank you, Mark, for such a NEAT gift!!
My age must be showing. I have never been a crier, but now tears
come freely when I read of spiritual and patriotic subjects. Today
I read of a resident in AZ who was complaining of the noise
from the AFB that interrupted his/her shopping at a Mall nearby. Four
F-16 Jets flew by in unison, thus making a lot of noise, and it disturbed this particular shopper enough that he/she wrote in to
the local newspaper for an explanation for all the noise. The
shopper failed to hear the 12-gun salute and Taps being played.
An Air Force Officer gave an answer that probably made the
complainer feel pretty small. He explained that the "noise"
was in honor of one of our brave soldiers who, along with many
others, have given their lives for us. The soldier had been killed
in Iraq on Memorial Day. I especially appreciated his closing
remarks-
"Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you--
Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
One died for your Soul, the other for your Freedom".
We can get so caught up in our own little worlds, we forget
that America is a Wonderful country to live in,... and God is
promising a More Wonderful place to live in hereafter if we are His
Faithful Children.
I've always bee a crier but it gets worse the older I get. I was singing along with the Seraphim tapes and started crying like a baby because the words touched me so deeply.
I grew up in Ft. Worth durring the days of SAC (Strategic Air Command) and the end of the runway at Carswell Air Force Base was right next to the shopping mall. B-52 bombers were ALWAYS flying over there. And as loud as they were, you were always filled with a sense of pride whenever one of them flew over.
Have you ever been to Grand Central Station? I haven't , but
today, I feel like I'm living in it. Ryan left 1 pm for Bryan
for a Halloween party tonight. Ernest left at 2:15 pm with
Curtis for a deer hunt in Centerville. And--the phone just
rang, and Sherelyn and Mark have just landed safely at Bush International
Airport, having been in Germany for almost two weeks.
Life will return to normal in a few days. In the meantime,
I have oodles of jobs to do, will eat leftovers from the week
of cooking, and will anxiously wait for a call from Ernest that
he and Curtis each got a deer--we hope!
don't want you or your visitors to see ads? join gold!
Gave Sherelyn & Mark their good-bey hugs while ago--they are flying out for Germany at 2:30 pm. Its just 9 hours flight to
Amsterdam, and then an hour to Frankfurt. They are a Wee Bit
excited, especially Sherelyn--her first overseas flight. The gospel meeting lasts Wed.-Sunday, and then they have a few days of sight-seeing.
Ryan, our high school-college student is due in a little while
for noon nourishment. We really enjoy his stay with us when Mark
& Sherelyn are away. Mark has set up his computer in our guest
room, and fixed it so he can talk and see them way over across
the ocean. This is unbelievable to me. But very nice! We will
get daily reports and SEE some of what they are seeing.
Have just concluded two of my most unfavorite housekeeping jobs--
dusting and cleaning the oven. What is your most Unfavorite job?
Ironing and dusting!! seems a lot of us don't like dusting...I like it after it's done, but then it seems you have to do it again right away!! Especially if you have a golden retriever in the house!! He really sheds! But he is so cute!!!!
Dusting is pretty high on my list. I've tried getting rid of things so I don't have to dust around them but I'm pack rat. Serves me right then doesn't it? lol
peolple clean their oven? LOL. I should do it more often myself. taking out the trash - strong brave mana job right there (I have a sensitive gag reflex). Puting away after laundry after it is washed. I think I do too much of it at one time. It gets bigger every time I approach the mountain. I keep telling myself just one load each day.
probably dusting, because it can be so detailed. My solution is to wait until everything is really dusty, and then you feel great when you dust because you can tell a big difference. :o) Thanks:o)
Hi Sister Frances--Call me odd, but I love to iron. I think it is therapy for me! I don't mind loading the dishwasher, but I am not fond of washing dishes (unless I have someone in the kitchen with me to visit with. I think my least favorite chore is picking up around the house and puting things where they belong. Usually that means my bedroom--it is usually the last room to be organized. Hope you are well. Give my best to Bro. Finley :)
Hi Mrs.Frances, this is Emilee. My dad wanted me to let you know that he LOVED your cowboy cookies and he was wondering if it would be possible for you to give him the recipe tomorrow? Thanks alot! :)
