I slept for twelve hours last night and am getting sleepy as I sit here at the computer.
It's a beautiful fall day and I'm off work.
I've braved the crowds of Wal-Mart and got everything I needed on my grocery list. I think I only bought one thing that wasn't on the list. Good job, Rebecca.
I worked forty hours this week. Not complaining, but after having gotten spoiled with 28-30 hours a week, I'm rather worn out.
Right now I'm just avoiding cleaning the apartment, but I'll call it "looking for a Christmas gift for Curtis online". It sounds better that way.
What have you been up to?
Hope you are having a splendid weekend.
I love you.

Today I walked to Barnes & Noble. I needed to walk and it's more motivating if there's something good at the end. Anyway, as I perused the book-filled aisles of the store, I'll just say I encountered "the people's" president elect's face in too many places--like on a children's book...There's just no place to go to escape anymore. Not even the kid's section. *sigh*
Starbucks is getting busier and we have started selling holiday drinks. I managed to spatter eggnog all over me today, yum yum. Ick. The atmosphere is helping me get into the holiday spirit, however. I've already gotten most of my Christmas shopping done. I love Christmas shopping, I must confess!
The weather is beautiful here! I've encountered leaves on the sidewalk in a couple of places and OF COURSE I shuffled my feet through them and kicked them up everywhere. It gave me a moment of happy satisfaction.
I'm looking forward to going home for Christmas. We'll be spending Thanksgiving here, but it's home for Christmas! As much as I like it here, I miss Louisville sometimes. The bustle of a little bit bigger city. I'm excited, though it's just for a week.
Well, I suppose I'll quit rambling and bid you a good day.
Let me know how you're doing!
I love you.

It's really started raining leaves here! The groundskeepers bagged them all up yesterday and I was sad...until I came to work today, and there was a fresh supply until next Wednesday! I miss the mature trees we had at our old house that gave us great jumping leaf piles. :( You need to come visit; or I can come visit you next year when I get more vacation.
This week has been the most beautiful with all the golden and bright orange leaves. They'll probably be bare trees by next week though. I'm trying to decide what theme to use for my Christmas cards this year, any suggestions? I've got to fit a lot of cats on the card this year :)
It's a lovely fall day.
I've gotten over my one-day fall depression. Last Thursday we were having the "Fall Feast" for the widows/older folks and I was down, thinking, "How can we have a Fall Feast? There are hardly any trees here and it doesn't even seem like Fall here...boohoo..." etc. But, I'm over it. I snatched some leaves off an oak tree by Barnes & Noble the other night and I'm much happier.
Just enrolled for Starbucks insurance! It took all of ten minutes. And isn't going to cost too much. Hooray.
I fell on my behind today at work. One minute, walking past the sink in the back, the next second, sitting on the floor. I didn't even know I had fallen till I was on the floor. Oh well, you can get non-skid shoes all you want, but you still slip. No one even laughed at me very hard, which I would have done had I been watching.
The rest of the day is free! Except for the bible study tonight on Abraham (being taught by Curtisimo at the Popes' house). But, other than that, I have the whole day to do whatever! And that'll probably be about all I do.
So, what have you been up to lately? Fill me in.
And have a fabulous day!
The Fall Feast was awesome. I couldn't believe the turn out. Sorry I couldn't have seen you fall. I would have laughed at you. :) I'll just point and laugh at you tonight. Looking forward to the study.
Question for you (sorry, haven't talked with you in a while)...my husband is thinking about applying at Starbucks while going back to get his Masters. One thing we really need though is benefits since my job doesn't offer them. Can you get family coverage? Or is it just for the employee?
Congrats that it doesn't cost too much. So funny that you brought this up because a friend of ours told us over the weekend he worked at Starbucks, love it, and we were discussing insurance and he couldn't remember. Thanks!
You can get family coverage at Starbucks. I enrolled my husband on mine. AND, even better for me, I don't have to work full-time to get the insurance--basically, as long as you work 20 hours a week, you can qualify.
They're changing my insurance at work. Still BC/BS, but new premiums, deductibles, etc. bleh. Not fun for the single girl. I'm glad I don't have a house payment!
Glad you didn't get hurt! Today is my day off. I'm planning on going to a Bible study at the church building and then coming home to make my Dorothy costume for work on Friday. :)
Hmmm, up to? Went to FL, then came home, then went to Nashville for a wedding, and BG Sat. Been working and doing student evaluations - 22 of 'em take some time! Tonight is a Bible study with a girl James helped convert and baptize a month or so ago and tomorrow is to Shaun's for a Halloween party amoung 12 - 15 or so friends. Sat. we're having a singing, and then Sun. is lunch at the Back's and our group meeting (not to meniton church) whew! Been busy! Hey - you asked! Sorry 'bout your fall - say hi to Curtisimo for us! ;)
lol i hate when that happens, i was at work the other day and i completely bustesd as well, one minute im getting chips from the back then next im on the floor covered in tortilla chips! it stinks and your right the non slick shoes dont help one bit... sometimes im thankful i have something soft to fall on :)
46 Degrees outside!
Gas $2.69!
Worked 4.75 hours and off by 9:45am!
94 on my health quotient questionnaire towards health insurance!
New long-sleeved tees for $10 each!
A nice, easy-going, brisk October day.
I've been keeping busy and will only continue to be so throughout the rest of the year, I suppose. Starbucks gets busier as the weather gets colder; people really want their warm coffee drinks.
Working on Casey's second book cover! Hope to get it off to him this weekend.
Well, not a lot else going on. If you're in the area, stop by our Starbucks on Soncy Road and you can buy a pound o' coffee and donate it to the troops for Christmas.
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
I love you.
Bec
where did you get the tees? Old Navy?
It was warm all weekend and gas was 2.87 at mom and dad's, but it's still 2.99 here. I'm so happy to see a 2 at the front though finally!
Amanda is marrying a guy from here where I live, named Quinn Chandler. He's great! I know you asked this question a million years ago, but I just got online for the first time in forever.
You didn't happen to send the cover design already this week, did you? I just want to make sure that it didn't end up getting deleted somehow before I saw it.
Good to hear you're doing good - Wilson Adams is here this week - so far we've only heard one amazing sermon last night (we've been in FL). Wish you were here!
