For those of you that enjoy casual puzzle games, or those that have wives or girlfriends or kids that enjoy them... There's a new indie game out for PC and Wii called World of Goo. It involves building bridges, towers, and other strange, gooey, swaying buildings... And well, it's rather difficult to explain, so why not try the free demo?
You'll be hooked instantly, so I recommend you purchase the game immediately for only $20! (I believe the Wii version is 1500 points ($15) and it can be downloaded from the Wiiware channel. The PC version is also available on Steam if you're not comfortable with Paypal.)
Now if it sounds like I'm trying to get you to buy the game... I am! Because I owe the developers (2D Boy) a favor for truly putting the customer first and being more awesome than any small company should have the right to be. It just so happens that the game is also incredibly fun, addictive, cute, and chalk full of all your recommended daily vitamins.
So... What are you waiting for? Seriously, why are you reading this drivel, go download the demo or better yet, just buy the game.
Faux Edit: Also, it's rated E for Everyone so it's age appropriate. And it's DRM-free, which means there are no restrictions on how many copies you can download or install on your machines.
The game is pretty fun... fairly addicting, too. I'm going to have to NOT buy it so I can get some work done (after finishing the first chapter). I still want to build a huge tower in the corporation... I keep getting up to about 10m and collapsing. :o(
Guess I'm a little late with this since the first day of Fall was yesterday. But Fall is by far my favorite season. It also contains my favorite holiday of the year, Halloween!
Two years ago, back in Phoenix, we decided to make our own haunted house in a friend's garage. The project was a complete success and even though they only advertised for a couple of days with a few signs around the neighborhood, we had over 400 people come through.
We made plans to do it again, but skipped last year since it fell on a Wednesday night. Well, Halloween is on a Friday night this year so we're flying back out to Phoenix to work on it again. It's going to have a lot more time put into it and I can't wait. I've come up with a few ideas that, if executed properly, will be killer. It's going to be a blast. (We'll also be doing plenty of "research" before we fly out to Phoenix by visiting as many haunted houses as possible.)
So Phoenix people, make plans to visit our haunted house. Ask Phil Woolbright for details.
Next year I think I may start doing this in Ohio, at our house. Gotta use all this land for something good, right? (I can see myself starting these projects in July.)
I'm also getting my horror movie list ready to go for October. 31 horror movies in 31 days. Theresa says she'll be a wreck after that many horror movies. I can't wait... It'll be a challenge to find worthy movies that I haven't seen yet.
Work is coming along slowly on the novel I'm writing. I was hoping to have it ready to be sent out to agents by October but that probably won't happen. I'll probably have it ready by November or December. I haven't told anyone any details about it, but maybe some day soon...
It's good to see that mowing too many acres hasn't killed you! Have fun scaring the willies out of yourself. I've given up horror movies for a multitude of reasons.
I'm sure the Phoenix people are excited that you will be going home! Yes your land would make an excelent "frightful acreage" I can see you and Theresa now!! Have fun in Phoenix! Take lots of pictures!
That's awsome! I would a HORRIBLE WRECK after watching 31 horrow movies...actually probably after 5 lol...u know me big scardy cat! Tell Miss Theresa I said hi! And I didn't know u were writing a novel! That's awsome!! Good luck with it!
We are so excited to have you guys out here next month! Please feel free to bring us pumpkin donuts, pumpkin salt water taffy, or any other fun thing from Circleville! :) Your property is already a haunted house. Just have people go in the barns in the middle of the night or stand in your house alone while you stare at them through the windows!
