Hello! Is this the Julie whose grandmother attends the Bethany congregation and whose mother is LaKeta? This is Bob & Joy's daughter. Even though most there are used to me as Elizabeth, my life since leaving KY has been Liz! I'm the one who gave you the cards at the Christmas party one year at your grandmother's. Hope you're doing okay.
I know, I know. Its been a long time, but hey, I've been busy. Right now is no exception. Just to give you a run down:
-Lectures here this week in BG
-Catching up with people I travelled overseas with (They're here for the lectures, and I get to see them, so its a good week..:)
-Work (its always crazy---people need to try to figure out how to get along...seriously!)
-Bridal shower this weekend--yikes! (I love the bride-to-be like a sister, but I'm pretty nervous about throwing her a shower...first one I've actually done before..we'll see how this goes)
-Dress shopping for the wedding(in my limited spare time)
-Preparing for summer class (yep, I'm signed up for a summer class...and yeah, I'm a little crazy)
-
So, maybe the list isn't that long, but its plenty for me to handle. LOL. Well, gotta run...
arg! I was looking for ya, but since I had to get all the way back to Lousiville last night I left pretty quick so I must've missed ya. I thin kI'll be back on Thursday, so I will hopefully see you then!
have fun this week! Wish Jamie and I could have come. So are you in the wedding? when is it? I am sure the shower will go fine, as long as she is not a bridezilla! :)
hey-I wanted to be there tonight, but my bank account had something to say about it. I really can't afford it since I jsut replaced my transmission:( Hopefully I'll get down there again soon though and see ya!
I'm so glad for a weekend. I've been playing catch up with lots of things lately. Trying get through my in-box hasn't been pretty, and then, late Wednesday afternoon, my boss brings in a folder---with sticky notes all over it---to place in my in-box, says sorry and walks out. (That's a hint for something bad right there.) Lol. And, there's been my classes and homework to catch-up as well. Its funny...getting back into the routine makes it feel as though our trip happened way in the past.
Well, I actually have to get back to studying, so I'll go. (At least, I need to do all the studying I can today because I've got two birthday parties to attend tomorrow....a small one for my grandmother at her house tomorrow afternoon, and a surprise party at our house tomorrow night.) Fun, fun....
I don't think I ever replied (again, better late than never?) but yes, we made it home fine. We took a train to Venice the next morning (before most of yall were awake) then came back to that hotel that night. our only problem came from the cab ride back to the hotel from the train station that night. We forgot to bring the address of the hotel with us and there was some confusion about where it was located and the driver didn't speak English...so the cab ride was a little longer than it should have been, but we made it! :)
bummer-glad you saw the post b/c I didn't have your email and was wanting to make sure you knew you were invited. We'll be at lectures Monday night and all day/evening Tuesday. I think we'll be leaving after the PM lectures-we'd love to stay all week but can't b/c we are counselors at Indiana camp the following week-too much packing and getting ready for that!
I don't know how I made it, but I did!! LOL. The trip was awesome! I had a really great time, and enjoyed seeing all of the places we went to in Egypt and Israel mostly because I saw them with other Christians. Hopefully, all the members of our group are recovering from jet-lag well. I know 22+hours of travel are not setting so well with me right now. LOL.
Well, more info and pictures later. Have a great Thursday!!
It was lots of fun!! I still can't believe all that we did, such as: saw the great Pyramids, saw the Red Sea, went on a small cruise on the Nile River, went/saw/climbed Mt. Sinai (Moses was in good shape to climb that Mtn at 80), saw the Jordan River, saw the Dead Sea, went up to Masada, saw the Dead Sea (slightly slimy/Oily), etc. The list goes on....
hi! where do you go to church in BG? I have some friends there, so maybe we can meet up next time I am in town. It probably won't be soon, but better late than never right? :)
Yes, its good to be home...for the most part. Although, this means a return to the normal chaotic schedule for me. :) Such is life!!
The holidays have been great so far. Almost a blur, in fact, because they have gone so quickly this year. And here it is, three whole days and a half day until 2008 begins!! Crazy!!
For this weekend, I'm not sure what is planned. A little of everything, I imagine. What with my birthday and New Years just around the corner, this weekend will pass in a blur, too!! Oh well! Just have to enjoy it as it goes! (And try to stay away from many of the desserts that will be coming at me over this long holiday weekend!! LOL. Don't need anymore of those!!)
