Well, it was a lovely holiday, but now its back to work. I thoroughly enjoyed my Thanksgiving on Thursday with my family. It was nice and quiet. Saturday I enjoyed laying on my couch and watching sappy Christmas movies for most of the day. I felt pretty lazy, but I think my body needed it. I feel much better now. Refreshed and ready to head into finals. Only 2 more weeks of school and I'm finished for the semester! Yay!
Whoo Hoo!! Took my neuro exam this morning. I've done just about nothing but study for the past 3 or 4 days. I think it went okay. We'll see. Now I can enjoy my Thanksgiving break...even though I'll be working Wed. and Fri. I'm really looking forward to a nice quiet day with my family. And even though we will probably loose I am looking forward to the A&M vs. t.u. game for the first time in a long long time. Unfortunately I've always been working during the game, but this year I'll actually be off since the game is Thursday.
I am also celebrating with her and her and her since we will be aunts again! Little EmmaHarp you have the best big brother ever!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
I found out today that I don't have class on Wednesday morning, which means that I don't have to be anywhere until 2pm! And no class Thursday morning, which means I don't have to be anywhere until 1pm! I am SOOO excited because this means that I will actually be able to SLEEP IN!!!
Seems like a small thing, but I don't have any days that I can sleep in right now, so I am really excited!
YES! I read all of the Twilight books (4 of them) and loved them. The movie is good, but 2 hours just isn't enough time to do justice to all of the nuances. Have you read or seen any?
Well I think its time for a new entry. I've been so busy lately I haven't had the time or energy to sit down and write. The semester is still going well. It seems like I've had a test every week though for a while now. This week I actually don't have one, but I do have one on Monday, so I'll be studying hard this weekend. I made a 100 on my last neurology test, a surprise to me since I felt pretty apprehensive coming out of it. But I got full credit on the extra credit which put me where I needed to be. :)
I was just telling mom today how cool it is to finally be learning things that I will be using in my career. It seems like its taken me a long time not only to settle on a degree, but to actually finish pre-req's for the major. I've been waiting for this for a long time. I've learned so much this semester. When I started out I thought, "I'll never know as much about this as I do veterinary medicine." But, I really feel like I'm on my way to gaining that knowledge in speech pathology. I can't wait to get experience. We get our first observation hours in the clinic next semester. I'm really looking forward to that. I've got a great group of friends in the field too, and we all support each other. Its competitive, yet we all know we're in the same boat. I feel a sense of accomplishment and also a sense of growth in myself. Its a very rewarding feeling.
Its hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I can't wait! It is my favorite holiday besides Christmas. I love waking up and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, stuffing myself, the falling asleep while the boys watch the Cowboys game, then waking up, playing games and eating turkey sandwiches and more dessert. I hope the weather will cooperate and get cooler. Its just not Thanksgiving if its not cold!
So, that's about all that's new. I've found a nice walking trail along the San Marcos river where the dog and I go with a friend from work a few times a week. Its so beautiful and the dog really enjoys getting out. Saturday was so perfect we walked an hour and twenty minutes. God's creation is wonderful!
Have an awesome weekend and Happy early Thanksgiving!
