The kids all have their schedules and back to school things now. It always makes me sad when they go back. I really do miss having them around. Sigh. I always hate to sound melancholy when I am so incredibly blessed. I've not had a very good week and yet I have God,Derek, my kids, my health, amazing friends, more stuff than I could ever need. It's good to type that. Sometimes talking to yourself is a good thing, I guess.
Happy back to school everyone!
Hey Michelle! I can't believe how grown up all the kids are. (Hayley's 14 and just spent the week with us.) I keep up with your family through Alicia and Missy and am glad everything's going well.
I haven't posted in a whole year. I mainly joined to keep up with what my boys were doing online and now they post on facebook. But I realized MY friends are here. So if anyone is interested:
We are blessed abundantly. Drew is 15 (15!) and plays jv and travel soccer. Loves it. He and Adam are both making A's, Adam is 13 and will be a freshmen in the fall. Which gives me two kids in high school. Which probably explains why my hands look old now. Probably all of me does.
Lauren is eight and such a neat composite of her brothers. I love them to death and am afraid to blink for fear they'll be gone.
In other news, I've learned to quilt. We have to give away our dog because she ate through the wall. Derek is a deacon (and Eastside now has elders-clearly). I love being a brownie troop leader and when possible, I love to date my husband.
I'd love to hear about you!
WOW! The kids have gotten so big since we've seen them! I can't beleive little drew is 15! Well I can, but wow! So I am a stay at home mom now to Ashton (3) and Alayna (7 months) and it's great. Although some days I think I will pull my hair out, then I just have to look at them sleeping at nap time and it's all good:) Sounds like you guys are BUSY!! Great reading your post though;)
Oh my goodness - how awesome to hear from you. Somehow when I left BG, everyone is frozen in time in my memory...but when I read your blog, it just makes my head spin. Your boys are 13 and 15...is it possible?!
Great to hear from you, I just wish you'd post some pictures. I can't believe you have kids in high school!! The other day at work, one of my patients stated to me he did not think I had been a nurse for very long since I was so young. I said, uh, well in about two years I will be hitting the big 4-0!! He said WHAT? I thought you were about 25. He was not joking, this was an older gentleman, and I laughed of course. Love ya.
Hi! Heard about Eastside having Elders :). It is very hard to beleive your kids are that old or that Derek is old enough to be a deacon same with Curt A.
Yesterday I had Lasik eye surgery. It's amazing. After the couple days of terror that I was letting someone aim a laser at my eyes and could go blind (all those forms you have to sign!), and the whole procedure took like 8 minutes!! I was really blurry yesterday, but today I can see!! It's a little hazy and itchy but it's such a blessing.
We have VBS at church this week and two weeks until Kamp Kennessee. I am so excited! I do think I had more fun last year as a counselor that I had has a camper even!
Have a nice day!!
Oh WOW, I would love to have that surgery done, but I am too chicken. Have fun fun at camp. Yep, being a councelor is better b/c you are above the rules... ;)
Just so you know, Lauren is so good in Bible class having us pray for everything going on in your life, so we'd actually already prayed for this! I'm glad it went well.
Michelle...it's Alyson. Glad to hear that your surgery went well. Have fun at camp. I'm going to be a conselor at Chicagoland Camp this year for the first time!
We're all the colors mixed in one, you best respect, we're tie-dye, son!!!!!!
Hi, Mrs. Michelle.:) Kamp was AMAZING, you guys were the best counselors EVER.
Oh, it was so uplifting! I was able to reach out to some younger kids, grow closer to friends my own age, and seek the wisdom of some older men and women... all in a week. Definitely a huge blessing! :-)
