Wow! Someone actually looked in my galleries! That hasn't happened in awhile (that I know of). That is a picture I cropped for BJ, I think, so it is more likely someone you know than someone I know LOL.
yes I do remember you! I can still be a little shy at times but nothing like you remember, I am sure! :) my husband can vouch for that...he knew me when I was younger too. I don't remember this but he says he tried to say hi to me and I just turned and walked off. Do you still go to Broadmoor? I might be there the Sunday before Christmas.
We'll be having Thanksgiving dinner with our son and his wife and her parents. Our daughter and her boyfriend will have dinner with his family and will join us later. I can hardly believe it's only a few days away. Where has this year gone??
oh yes...I remember coming and staying with 'Miss Linda' and hanging out with you and 'Miss Brenda' too :) We should be there Sunday morning before xmas. Because of our schedule needs, the best time was to fly into Nashville instead of flying into Louisville. So, we get to the Nashville airport Sun am in time for services, then Sun afternoon, we will drive to Louisville. Hope to see you then!
I see where she was asking about KT. My MIL is good friends with KT's parents (who are in Bradenton, Florida). KT has been in Houston for years. From what I remember she is married with no children.
I can assure you that I was not involved in locking you in the bathroom, unless my memory fails me on that particular item. ;) I remember the tea bag sandwiches - but sounds like he got off easily! L singing in the middle of the night - don't remember hearing that one either.
I'm also on Fall break and have more time. It's been a very busy 2008-09 school year as I've started a new job in another county as a Speech Pathologist. Thanks to my friend Ms. Fendley, Fendley596 (mother of Janice Fendley Nerland: a suitemate of mine from FC days in the 70's), I found out that no one could "comment" on my blog without being transported to BibleGateway.com. NO WONDER no one had left me a comment in so long; I'm still loved!! Whew!
Anyway, "Thanks Ms. Fendley". Visit her blog BTW; she seems to always be gardening and mentioning "yummy" recipes or food.
And thanks to Frances, fmr1222, who has also sent me two messages about this problem.
Finally it is resolved!!
To catch you up on my three sons' adventures, I'm including a "thus far" 2008 slideshow. Hope you enjoy. Can't wait to finally hear from some of you!
Good to hear from you again!! Thanks for posting the pictures to catch us up. :)
Steve held another Gospel Meeting in Calgary a few weeks ago. On Saturday night a group of about 25 drove down to Lethbridge, Alberta and Steve preached there. We met a woman with the last name Nerland.
Love the pictures - yes, especially the ones with Bambi! Makes me miss the days when my kids were that young! :( Look forward to hearing from you about Nashville when you have time. I figured you would be a good source of information!
Hi there! Cute pics! Glad I can comment. The "Clarence" is the name of the semi-tenement apt. building Tim lives in with his roommate Neil, and also another young girl from church named Leah Ann. Neil has only been a christian for 2 years and he brought Leah Ann, who has just been a christian for a year. They are wonderful and spiritual and mean so much to us. The three of them are just about our best friends in the city, but they're so much younger. It has been so much fun this week meeting their moms, who are visiting from out of town. Leah Ann's mom has now obeyed the gospel, too.
Hey Jenny. Yes, I was diagnosed with crohns in 2002. and i am still in Tampa. Singing in a new quartet with some great friends. We're called Outrageous. you can see our website at www.outraeousquartet.com. good hearing from you
of a poem that I was recently given by my 85 year old aunt, who is the oldest of 10 siblings and looks amazingly young for being 85. My Aunt Dece was raised on a dairy farm in Louisiana in the same town in which I was born, Haynesville. My grandparents had 10 children, the oldest of which is Dece. When young, my handsome grandfather Hartsell met and married my petite 4 foot, 11 inches grandmother, Nicie Sue Davis. She was a baptist and was converted. I believe grandfather's mother thought that anyone as "little" as my grandmother wouldn't amount to much when it came to being a helpmeet. Besides bearing my grandfather 5 sons and 5 daughters, she was a very industrious woman. Aunt Deci wrote this poem to honor my grandmother's memory. Maybe if you're old enough it will bring back some memories of a different way of life. Maybe if you're young enough it will make you appreciate someone older in your life.
My Mother's Hands
My Mother's hands, how did they do,
So very much for me and you,
Worked day and night to keep us clean,
Used them to tie her apron strings.
Shooed the chickens with her broom,
Swept and mopped every room,
Used a switch when we were bad,
Wiped our tears when we were sad.
Fed the roosters and the hens,
Worked from sun-up to day's end.
Caught and wrung the fryer's neck,
Picked and peeled peaches by the peck.
Turned the wheel on the Singer sewing machine,
Cut out patterns and measured things,
Sewed our clothes and cotton sacks,
Which pickers dragged behind their backs.
Patched daddy's pants when they had holes,
Rubbed our chests with Vicks for colds,
Planted seeds and picked our flowers,
Worked in the garden many hours.
Kneaded dough for biscuits every morn,
Shelled peas and shucked the corn,
Lit the coal oil lamp and changed the wick,
Put a feather pillow under our heads when we were sick.
Yes, I have 5 kids! Weelll...let's see. Once upon a time, my sister and Bruce (Hall) dated...then after about a yr. & 1/2 or so they broke up, but remained friends (as did our whole family, with Bruce, having known his family already, etc.) SO then he and BJ got married, we already knew of David, etc. so I guess maybe I've known her for over 10 yrs. or so...? Her Hallie and my Jonah are a year or so apart in age.
Hey there. No, I'm still in Florida. I was supposed to be on vacation this week anyway. Tomorrow we're spending the day with Cindy and Ben and worshipping at Val Rico and then I go home on Monday. It
I'm younger- 38. Yes, I have 5 kiddos, too. 3 girls & 2 boys. Fayetteville is on the south side of Atlanta. We know & enjoy time with David & Flora when we get the chance- sweet people!
Sweet Cabbage Relish: 8 lbs. cabage, trimmed and ready to cut. 8 big bell peppers ( red and green best), 3 big onions, 3 big cucumbers. Cut all very fine. Next, mix to make a paste, 8 heaping
Yes I will change jobs in August. I am working at a clinic this summer a couple days a week. Pretty easy summer, I am packing and getting ready to move and then planning on being gone for part of July!
I do play the guitar. Is your son going to be taking lessons or learning on his own? That can make a big difference in terms of methods I would recommend.
Thank you! I do recommend that students take lessons from a teacher. There is so much technique involved with guitar that is best learned with someone sitting next to you. That teacher would help reinforce good habits, even such as the proper way to hold it so not to get wrist pain.
What day is your b'day on? I turned 37 this year. The number doesn't bother me, but the gray hair does! ;) That is great that Aunt Deci got to come up withyour dad. I don't think I have heard the poem she wrote about mammaw, but I would love to. She has been writing a book too, hasn't she?
I think this one was close to the top of the list of things that really punched my button, lit my fuse, made me crazy (o.k., "craziER"). And I realize I need to balance these next few statements reflecting my emotional state and attitude, with the comments on herblog, but boy "THIS" takes the cake!"
At work today, in a high school setting, the daily pledge was being said aloud on the intercom. Now, get ready, because here comes the shocker.....
"I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the republic for which it stands, One nation, Under God, Budda, and Allah, Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indivisible? How can we be united when the very foundation on which we stood and still attempt to stand is being DIVIDED by this liberal, all inclusive, politically correct, non-committal government agenda and culture. I OBJECT to this travesty. Yet, I must live in this world with all its corruption and vice. How long will our "One God, Over all" let this continue?
oh that is just sick. People have lost their common sense. Hey I tried to click on your test below but the link was to make my own test and I never saw yours. :(
Yes, you should know about boys, shouldn't you! I'm following in your footsteps ;>) No names yet; I suppose we'll come up with something before they issue the birth certificate ;>)
